Two Girl Scouts propose their Reed Park project to the city council. These particular Girl Scouts chose for their Junior Bronze Award a project entitled, "Can You See Me" which was demonstrated to the mayor and council. "I am a child walking among the cars parked along the street. Can you see me?," said Cleveland.

Another scout read on the project, "I'm a mother pushing a stroller in the street because there is no sidewalk. Can you see me." Finally the last scout read, "I am a fading white line across the road. I'm the fading white line that guides your children where to go. Can you see me?" Mayor Jeffrey Stanley addressed the Girl Scouts and said he thought it was a great idea. "I think we can definitely help you guys with contacting TxDOT. We'll get you contact information if you don't already have it," said Mayor Stanley. A second set of Girl Scouts Addelyn Leakey and Madison Wade made a presentation to the council to discuss their bronze award project which was to plant flowers, place a bike rack, and fix

the garden. "We are excited to fix Reed Park because there are other kids on that side of town that need a good park to play in," said Leakey. "We would like to plant flowers and continue to keep Howe beautiful." The third members of the Girl Scouts making presentations for their Bronze Award Project also wanted to focus on Reed Park. They were Sophie Cherry, Gracie Max, and Mia Wilson. "We want to bring Reed Park back to its former glory," said Sophie Cherry. Cherry said that she wanted to place more things in the park for kids to have more to do there. The council made a motion to approve all projects for the Girl Scouts and thanked them for showing an interest in their community. Troop leaders Carolyn Cherry, Katrina Gilbert, Christy Insall, and Parent Volunteer Erika Cleveland were in attendance with the scouts.
