Three local Girl Scouts address the city council with a presentation. The Howe Girl Scouts Troop 3698 made a petition to the city council on Tuesday night in efforts of their various Junior Bronze Award Projects. Girl Scout Lani Cleveland told the council that they are working to make the middle school crosswalk on Beatrice Street more visible to the intersection of King Street. "We ask for you help petitioning TxDOT to build a sidewalk on the east side of King Street connecting Beatrice to Haning (Street)," said Cleveland. "This sidewalk will
move kids out of the busy street and make the school zone safer for kids and families." Girl Scouts Cleveland, Zayda Argueta, and Eisley Zolfaghari asked for support from the residents on the east side of King Street and collected surveys from the eight households whose yards would be affected by sidewalk construction. They brought the surveys and presented them to the council. page 5
