Howe's next drive ended in a punt that was returned by Javon Bruce back to the Howe 13 yard line. It only took one play for the Bearcats to punch it in by Pitts on a quarterback scramble. Kemp ran the 2-point conversion to extend the Bearcats lead to 25-16 with 9:35 left in the game.
Howe had another shot, but Harvey's pass was intercepted by Javin Bruce at the Pilot Point 32 yard line. The Bearcats scored their final points on a Tavara punt that bounced passed Griffin who picked it up at the three yard line with momentum taking him in the endzone. The ball was stripped in the endzone and recovered by Pilot Point for the final score of the game to round it out at 38-16 and ending Howe's playoff chances.
Howe turned the ball over on downs on their next possession, but forced Pilot Point to punt. Howe got it back with 5:30 left in the game, but on first down, a halfback pass by Mason Riggs was intercepted by Pitts at the Howe 28 yard line. Two plays later, Pilot Point scored again on a
Howe will face Callisburg (1-8, 04) this Friday at home for the final game of the seniors' high school career. It is senior night and the ceremony will begin before the game.
