editors letter Welcome to the July Edition of House of Beverly. This edition has been so much fun to write, and I'm extremely excited to share it with everyone. This month, I wanted to share some tips on how to make life during a pandemic a little bit easier. I know that it sucks that our lives have been flipped upside down, but I think that there's so many cool (and safe) ways to stay connected with your loved ones. I also wanted to take the time to challenge you to just go for whatever you're dreaming of, because even though you might be homeboundthat doesn't mean that your dreams can't take you to new places.

xoxo,

Camryn

Is it our need for perfectionism? Our constant need to feel loved? The fear that if people knew what you wanted, they’d find a way to take it away from you? For me, in the two hours I was crying it was a combination of all three. I am definitely a perfectionist, a people pleaser, and I walk around with the constant fear that if I tell people what I want or what I have, they’d take it away from me. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it's such a confining way to live. Even though my first launch day was filled with anxiety, I’ve learned that it’s okay to talk about what I’m passionate about. It’s okay to grow

Scared to share my thoughts for everyone to read and potentially criticize. Afraid that what I created, wasn't good enough. As much as I love the idea of attention, I hate the spotlight. I've always been very aware of the fact that flaws are more obvious in the light, so I always spent time dreaming, but never acting on my dreams because of my fears of what people thought of me. If you’re relating a little too much to

youtube channel, a tik-tok account or whatever your heart desires: I think that you should just go for it. Be loud about what you’re working on, because your talents can’t grow when they’re in the dark. And prepare yourself for the heartbreaking moment when you realize that not everyone is going to be a fan of what you’re doing. You’ll get some unfollows, people will talk about you behind your back, and you will receive some straight up harsh criticism. If they don’t get your vision, your vision isn't meant for them. And that's okay. You don’t have to be for everyone. So whatever you’re dreaming of, I think you should just go for it. You never know where it might take you!

what I’m saying: Why don’t we ever just go for it?

Lighting is Everything Invest in a mini ring light to attach to your computer, or try to position your computer in front of a window for the best natural lighting.

Work the Camera This is a tricky one, but make an effort not to look at yourself during zoom calls. Instead look at the camera. Looking into the camera lens is the equivalent to making eye contact.

What you wear Matters Stray away from neutral colors, they can make you blend into your background. Try wearing brighter colors that compliment your complexion.

Eye to Eye Angles, angles angles! Just like a good selfie, angles do matter in zoom calls. Make sure that your computer is set up in a way that allows you to get the perfect angle.
