TAKE A TEA

TAKE A TEA BREAK AT ALILA ANJI

Experience harvesting the famous Anji White Tea - At its peaceful hillside location overlooking Tian Fu Lake, surrounded by lush bamboo groves and tea plantations, Alila Anji invites guests to participate in the harvest of the famous Anji White Tea with a uni que tea picking experience this spring.

Anji White Tea is considered one of the most rare and precious of Chinese teas, due in large part to its short harvest season, lasting only around 30 days in early spring, when Anji’s tea plantations are trans formed into a picturesque sight beneath the spring sunshine.

Contrary to what its name suggests, Anji White Tea is actually processed as a green tea. It derives its name from the shiny white color of its buds with just a light touch of green, which will turn to darker green as the temperature increases. The leaves are harvested by hand with expert skill and care before they darken, and are gently processed into green tea using traditional methods.

During processing, the fresh-picked white buds and leaves take on a pale yellowish-green color.

They are rolled into the form of tight pine-shaped needles before drying. The dried leaves display a fresh, clean, floral fragrance that perfectly matches the tea’s fresh, delicate taste. Because Anji White Tea is a very delicate tea, it is best made using cooler temperature water, and even better with spring or filtered water, to preserve its flavorful notes.

When prepared correctly, Anji White Tea has been described as liquid silk. Its vibrant green leaves brew to the color of light apple green, with an extremely smooth mouth feel and rich 'umami' or savory taste.

During this season, guests at Alila Anji can expe rience the tea picking process hands-on. Accompa nied by the resort’s Leisure Concierge, guests will enjoy a walk through the countryside to a nearby tea plantation, where a local farmer will initiate them in the skill of tea plucking, and the process of carefully preparing and packing the tea for consumption.

Alila Anji’s ‘Anji White Tea Picking’ experience is estimated to be available from the end of March to early May 2018, and is priced at: USD 25++ per person for white tea picking expe rience.

USD 40++ per person including white tea picking and 50g of white tea to take away. One week advance booking is required.

For package booking: http://alilaanji.cn/2585-2/ Throughout the white tea season, roasted and pac ked white tea will also be available for purchase at Alila Anji for guests to enjoy at home. Tealicious! And what better to accompany a cup of Anji White Tea than homemade sticky rice balls colored with lo cal green herb juice, a delicious local spring dessert that will be available in the hotel lobby.

Stockholm - ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, innovator of security te chnologies for the hospitality industry, announces the successful implementation of several of its advanced security and access so lutions at KViHotel in Hungary.

Located in Budapest, KViHotel has implemented ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access, VingCard Allure electronic door loc ks and the Visionline software platform to maximize security and enhance the overall guest experience. The new 40-room property is among the first smart hotels in Europe to offer a complete mo bile experience through the use of its mobile app, TMRW Hotels, which as an ASSA ABLOY Hospitality certified partner includes the added feature of Mobile Access keyless entry.

After researching several locking system providers, KViHotel opted for the ASSA ABLOY Hospitality solutions based on ex cellent customer service and the company's ability to provide an all-encompassing solution to meet staff and guest demands. With the installation of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access and VingCard Allure locks, guests can quickly and conveniently enter their room immediately upon arrival with a quick swipe of their mobile device.

"As a new hotel, we knew that a main focus of the design needed to reflect modern industry and guest trends through the adop tion of innovative technologies," says Péter Palicz, general mana ger of KViHotel. "Keyless entry is undoubtedly evolving the hotel guest experience,

and with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality's longstanding history of de livering exceptional service and its position as a leader in hotel security technology, we knew its Mobile Access solution was exactly what our hotel needed to appeal to today's tech-savvy guest expectations."

ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access is an advanced solution that allows guests to use their mobile device as a digital room key. Operating through secure Seos technology, an encrypted key is delivered securely to a guest's smartphone, which they then use to open their guestroom door, as well as accessing other onsite amenities and secured areas. Using advanced RFID technology, the VingCard Allure electronic lock features a unique interactive and customizable LED panel that is housed on the wall adjacent to the guestroom door, rather than on the door itself. An additio nal feature available to KViHotel guests is the ability to post 'do not disturb' or 'make up room' notifications to allow hotel staff to easily know when they are able to freely enter a guestroom for housekeeping and other services.

Though the use of the Visionline system, hotel staff can remotely control who has access to certain areas on property and when. Since the installation, KViHotel has experienced positive feed back from guests enjoying the benefit of being able to bypass the front desk and enter their room immediately upon arrival with their own smartphones.

Hotel staff has also benefited greatly from ASSA ABLOY Hospi tality's customer support, as the team was committed to ensuring that all needs of the property were met to create a streamlined and convenient service for hotel guests and staff. Singapore, 8 March 2018 – Food&Hote lAsia (FHA) announced the launch of an Industry White Paper in collaboration with Euromonitor International, to ce lebrate the event’s 40th anniversary. Tit led: Smart Innovations Transforming the Food and Hospitality Landscape by 2020, this 20-page milestone report provides a unique insight into major disruptors im pacting the industry.

The White Paper is the result of a research study conducted by UBM and Euromoni tor which surveyed over 1,000 suppliers and manufacturers covering major food, hotel and foodservice equipment sectors across Asia. “The food and hospitality sector is un dergoing rapid transformation in busi ness and production processes because of technological changes. The White Paper focuses on how technology impacts and changes how the industry conducts its business, the processes and how it will help the industry improve operational and work efficiencies, as well as produc tivity,” said Ivan Uzunov, Research Mana ger, Euromonitor.

The paper will only be available to pre-re gistered attendees of FHA. It will also be made available to all delegates attending Euromonitor’s highly interactive session on “Smart Innovations Transforming the Food & Hospitality Landscape by 2020” at the FHA2018 International Confe rence. World-Renowned Architecture and Interior Design Firm Wilson Associates Delivers Luxury Oasis in Cyprus

The award-winning firm unveils the highly-anticipated and redesigned Elysium Hotel

March 2018 – World-renowned architecture and in terior design firm Wilson Associates is proud to un veil the recently renovated Elysium Hotel in Cyprus. Situated on the beach in the ancient city of Paphos — next to the historical site of the Tombs of the Kings — Elysium Hotel consists of 250 rooms and suites designed to cater to couples, families, and business travelers.

Wilson Associates reimagined the Deluxe Bedrooms, Junior Suites, Lobby and several F&B spaces with design elements and interiors that incorporate the island’s history and heritage. The firm’s Los Angeles studio led the design efforts, creating a sense of place, drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings and beauty of Cyprus and the many breathtaking views of the azure Mediterranean Sea as seen from the city.

Embracing Elysium Hotel’s original architecture, Wilson Associates thoughtfully designed around the property’s palatial style which was influenced by the Byzantine era. The existing architectural elements of the lobby, for example, are now enhanced with a blend of local stone, marble and timber; warm muted colors with pops of blues and fuchsia tones reflective of the sea and flowering foliage; decorative features such as mosaics, arches and columns; and luxurious contemporary furniture further enriching the palatial interior.

“The cultural references of its architecture evoke the rich history of Cyprus and combine elements from Greek, Roman, Medieval and Venetian times,” said Amy Jakubowski, Managing Director & Design Di rector of Wilson Associates’ Los Angeles studio. “Guests can enjoy a relaxing and stimulating stay in a peaceful and secluded environment.”

Each of the carefully crafted Deluxe Bedrooms lead guests on a journey through Cyprus’ rich history with both hard and soft furnishings complemented by warm woods and marble accents dressing the space.

Dining is a key element of the Elysium Hotel expe rience. Nestled at the end of a grand Venetian corri dor framed by palatial arches, Epicurean—the hotel’s gourmet buffet experience, showcases a harmonious colour palette of olive green and Murano glass chan deliers.

From May to October, Epicurean’s expansive chic French doors open up onto the eatery’s terrace, which is framed by string lights and lush greenery. Also showcasing bright and cheerful interiors, Lemonia Piazza— an all-day dining restaurant, offers seating indoors as well as outside on the terrace. Lastly, Cafe Occidental, a chic, contemporary and cosmopolitan dining option is reminiscent of a Parisian patisserie, complete with a beautiful pastry display.

About Wilson Associates

For nearly 50 years, Wilson Associates' dynamic ta lent and collaborative spirit have inspired and created some of the world's most iconic,avant-garde spaces, among them the Conrad Koh Samui; The Venetian Las Vegas; Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve; and the Armani Hotel Dubai. THE PHILIPPINES ALL SET TO SHOWCASE ITS GOLF COURSES TO A RECORD NUMBER OF GOLF TOUR OPERATORS

More than 200 golf tour operators from around the world will parti cipate in the largest series of golf familiarisation tours ever under taken in Asia when the Philippines hosts the region’s annual gathering of golf tourism professionals, the Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC), in April.

The Asia Convention is organised by global golf tourism industry body IAGTO, and Chief Executive Peter Walton commented:

“One of our objectives with AGTC each year is to ensure that the des tination benefits directly from the event in a really significant way.

“As an emerging golf destination, only 21% of our 424 golf tour ope rators selling golf vacations to Asia feature the Philippines, so we were determined to get as many tour operators to really experience golf in the Philippines first-hand either before or after the Convention it self.

I am delighted to announce that as a result of these efforts, sponsored by the country’s Tourism Promo tions Board, 215 golf tour operator delegates from 35 countries have already committed to the AGTC Fam Tours making this the largest golf fam trip to have ever taken place in Asia.”

Tour operators will visit the three main golf destinations: Tagaytay Highlands, Clark-Angeles City and Boracay Island.

33rd | Vol 18 | 2018 | www.hotelier-indonesia.com 96

They will also experience golf in metro Manila it self at the iconic Southwoods and Wack Wack golf clubs during the AGTC Golf Tournament, which will follow two days of meetings between seller companies and organisations across Asia - inclu ding destination tourist boards, golf resorts, golf clubs, hotels, transportation companies and other golf tourism service providers – and the golf tour operator buyers.

Most courses in the Philippines are located south of Manila. The Tagaytay Highlands lie at the heart of this region, a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The quiet resort town of Tagaytay sits alongside a volcanic lake amidst a stunning back drop of volcanoes, with golf courses close by and near Lipa, an hour away.

Pre-AGTC fam destination Boracay is a small but popular tropical resort island a short flight and ferry ride from Manila with a golf course, private beach coves and extensive facilities and activities at the Fairways & Bluewater resort, which takes up 15% of the island.

Three hours by road from Manila and only 20 mi nutes apart, the twin cities of Clark and Angeles host another AGTC trip. They could not be more different – Clark is a freeport zone offering quiet, tree-lined avenues and casino hotels while Angeles City is a vibrant 24-hour city – but together they comprise a compelling Philippine golf destination with excellent golf courses nearby.

The Philippines golf tourism industry is coordina ted by the Association of International Golf Tour Operators Philippines (AIGTP) and its President, Connie Mamaril, said: “The Philippines has a hun dred golf courses throughout the archipelago of 7,100 islands with varying designs overlooking the ocean, rivers, volcanoes and mountains with standards enticing to the international market and competitive green fees. The added charm of Engli sh-speaking caddies makes the entire golfing expe rience unforgettable.”

AGTC 2018 will take place in Manila from 22-25 April and has already attracted a record number of buyers, with 75% emanating from the country’s principal Asia Pacific markets.

Recognising the impact that AGTC will have on its golf tourism industry, Philippines Tourism Promotion Board Chief Operating Officer Ce sar Montano said: “The Department of Tourism (DOT) through the Philippine Tourism Promo tions Board (TPB) is looking forward to a most successful tourism convention. Hosting the AGTC 2018 is an impetus for Philippine golf tourism and our other sports industries. We warmly welcome partnering with institutions and agencies to bring forward the Philippines as the preferred sports destination in Southeast Asia. It is my pleasure to welcome the most influential golf tour operators selling Asian golf destinations to our beautiful is lands through the AGTC. I invite you all to enjoy our fairways and treat our beautiful golf courses as your own home courses. Mabuhay!”

In a clear sign that all pillars of The Philippines’ golf tourism industry are pulling together to at tract golf visitors, Philippine Airlines has been appointed as the AGTC 2018 Official Airline.

THERE ARE MAINLY TWO PROBLEMS RELATED TO TRIPADVISOR REVIEWS.

Ever since the explosion of internet usage in the past few years, the hotel industry has started to pay more & more attention towards reputation management due to the sheer amount of business the industry generates from online sources. The emerging crowd of smart phone wielding new-age travelers with zero restrictions to leave unlimited reviews on the internet, have made it mandatory for hoteliers to invest in Online Reputation Management. Over the past few years, multiple studies have shown a direct correla tion between online reputation and revenue.

A lot of existing players in the market are catering to this solution, but most of them share similar approach towards the problems their customers are currently facing. When enquired about how Repup is doing things differently, this is what their Founder and CEO, Pranjal Prashar had to say

‘’Repup is the only authorized Tripadvisor review collection part ner in South-East Asia which makes us a game changer in this field. There are mainly two problems related to Tripadvisor re views.

Firstly, most people do not have a Tripadvisor account and they don’t want to go through the entire process of creating one and write a review there. Secondly, Tripadvisor has made it manda tory to download their app to write a review. This long process often discourages guests to spontaneously write reviews there. Repup’s partnership with Tripadvisor has helped our clients im mensely due to our seamless integration with Tripadvisor.

Not only do we provide post-stay review collection but we also help hotels engage with their guests better with our pre-stay, instay and marketing solutions specially catered towards enterprise and leisure hotels‘’

When asked about how successful this has been so far, he said ‘’The success rate has been absolutely astonishing with properties increasing their review volumes by upto 95% and more than 80% of them are 5 star reviews. We are confident about replicating this success in the Indonesian Market.’’

Repup is also equipped with other useful features such as review management, reply in one single dashboard, Competitor bench marking, sentiment analysis, issue resolution & collaboration, robust and competitive reporting included inside their online re putation management tools.

In mid 2017 Repup launched a new product named StayMX. It is a fully personalized and customizable guest experience mana gement tool for their enterprise and luxury segment customers. StayMX is a 360º Guest Experience Management platform that lets hotels communicate with guests, customize their stay accor ding to preferences, and generate more revenue from them.

Due to their wide range of solutions, Repup claims to have hi ghly beneficial solutions for every segment in the hotel industry. A long list of satisfied clients, ranging from luxury hotel chains to stand alone players only bolsters such a claim. Repup has recently tied up with Marriott's hotel chain Moxy to manage their entire online reputation and help improve the qua lity of  their overall guest experience.

“Digitalisation is changing the hospitality market at an unprece dented rate and those who are reluctant to adapt the new tech nological advancements that Repup has to offer, will fall behind in the ever increasing competition of the industry” said Pranjal.

Repup is a Gurgaon, India based startup being led by a band of enthusiastic group of energetic individuals. They are a B2B On line Reputation Management company for hotels dedicated to bolster and improve online reputation ratings of their clients. Re pup claims that unlike most of the existing players in the market who only focus on providing reports on what they are already doing, they will actually help the clients  improve their overall online reputation.

EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY 2018

EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY 2018 concluded with a successful note last month, bringing together more than 180 exhibiting names from over 20 countries and regions around the world. These leading names in the cleaning and laundry sectors occupied more than 8,300 sqm of exhibit floor in the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Inaugura ted by the Director of Environmental Health of the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia, dr Imran Agus Nurali Sp. KO, EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY 2018 opened for business and registered the attendance of 6,024 trade visitors from 24 countries and regions throughout the course of 3 days.

“We are very excited with the development of the shows this year. Every year, we found more and more content and pro grams to be added to the show and the results are overwhel ming. Just look at the list of our programs and activities on site, all our partner associations are working hard to enrich their members’ experience and knowledge, all happening during the shows.

We also organised group visits from various hospitals, this is proven to be a good value for both the visitors and exhi bitors. On the exhibit floor, we saw busy demonstrations of machinery and curious visitors trying to get as much infor mation as possible from our exhibitors on how they should run their business.” stated Teddy Halim, the Director of Me dia Artha Sentosa, the organiser of EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY.

Among the leading names in the cleaning sector are : Kar cher, Nilfisk, Fimap, Viper, Numatic, Makita and more while on the laundry side, visitors easily found Alliance Laundry Systems, Jensen, Sankosha, Electrolux, Maytag, Milnor, Kannegiesser, Asahi Seisakusho and others. Each showing their latest and most innovative solutions for the cleaning and laundry industry.

Supporting trade associations including the Association of Indonesia Municipalities (APEKSI), Association of Indone sia Cleaning Service Enterprise (APKLINDO), Indonesian Laundry Profession Association (APLI), Indonesian Laun dry Association (ASLI), Indonesia Toilet Association (ATI), Himpunan Pengusaha Laundry Indonesia (HIPLI), LSP Kli ning Servis and Green Building Council (GBC) Indonesia are lining up the programs with seminars, workshops and conferences filling up all rooms to full house.

“Content, undoubtedly, is an integral part of the show. Al ready, we are working and running on our next program in collaboration with the hospitals association to organise a seminar on hospital laundry in Makassar next month. We are already building up the value and focus for next year’s edition, which is moving to the month of July in 2019, adjus ting to the national major holidays next year. We thank our exhibitors and supporting associations, media partners for all the support and trust in EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUN DRY,” Teddy Halim added.

EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY aim to be the platform for the industry to raise the standard of hygiene, sanitation, textile care and maintenance, which eventually leads to better and healthier life for all. The exhibition also aims to connect buyers and sellers, opening business opportunities, encouraging business start ups and potential collaborations.

The next edition of EXPO CLEAN & EXPO LAUNDRY will be held at the Jakarta International Expo from 11 to 13 July 2019. More update and information may be found at the event website www.expo‐clean.com
