Laura Auricchio is vice president of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Previously, she was dean of Fordham College at Lincoln Center and professor of art history at Fordham. At the New School/ Parsons School of Design, she served as chair of humanities, dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies, and vice provost for curriculum and learning. Her research has been supported by the Fulbright Foundation, the Getty Museum, the Whiting Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Humanities, among others. Her 2015 book, The Marquis: Lafayette Reconsidered (Knopf), received The American Library in Paris Book Award. Auricchio holds a BA from Harvard and a PhD in Art History from Columbia.
Joy Connolly is president of the American Council of Learned Societies. Previously, she served as provost and interim president of The Graduate Center at the City University of New York, where she was also Distinguished Professor of Classics. She has held faculty appointments at NYU (where she also served as dean for the humanities), Stanford University, and the University of Washington. She has published two books with Princeton University Press and over 70 articles. Connolly holds a BA from Princeton and a PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Rhonda Garelick (moderator) is the founding director of the IPHA and the John Cranford Adams Distinguished Professor of Literature at Hofstra. She is the author of three books and writes the “Face Forward” column for The New York Times Style Section. Garelick is a Guggenheim fellow; she earned her PhD and BA in French and Comparative Literature from Yale University.
