The Department of Aeronautical Engineering is the largest department offering project based programmes in Aeronautical and Aerospace at Bachelor, Master and Doctorate levels with an excellent academic and research standing. Specifically, there are three undergraduate programmes under Aeronautical, and Aerospace or Aeronautical with specialization in Avionics stream; and three postgraduate programmes in Aeronautical, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Avionics. Besides these programmes, specializations are offered to the PG students which can be completed within the same prescribed duration. The specialization options are meant to meet the challenges posed by the new aircraft and aerospace design which are highly dependent on unique capabilities with high performance; produce professional to play role of ensuring the quality and reliability of aircraft components using Non-Destructive Testing; and prepare engineers with design of UAV which is the wave of the future when it comes to aerial surveillance for both civil and military fields.

The School of Aeronautical Sciences provides a very conducive learning environment for students with modern laboratory facilities and extensive use of IT infrastructure and well trained faculty members. The School houses the Centre of Excellence for TIFAC-CORE, Centre for Autonomous Systems and SIMCRASH under its flagship. Students get opportunities to participate in international competitions sponsored by NASA, Airbus, UVSI, SAE International etc., and get to design and develop The unique “ALSIM Flight Simulators” available in house, provide an in-depth dimension to the flight mechanics and expose students to efficient use of flight envelopes and the complexity of aircraft stability and instrumentation. In addition, the students are given flying training at Orient Flight Academy.
Students are tuned for a competitive career in several Aeronautical/Aerospace related industries such as HAL, NAL, ISRO, DRDO Laboratories, IAF, Airlines etc. Private organizations such as L&T, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra Satyam, HCL, Saffron, Taneja Aerospace Ltd, etc. also employ our graduates on a regular basis. Many students find employment with overseas establishments such as Boeing, Airbus, GE etc. on a regular basis. Students who wish to pursue higher degree after graduation either in Indian or Overseas Universities are well accepted with our degrees.

Mechanical Engineering Established 1985
Introduction
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the pioneering departments with a vision to make every student a professional with ethical behaviour. The department offers two UG programmes namely B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering, four PG Programmes namely M. Tech. CAD, R&AC, Thermal, and Design; and Ph.D. programmes. The programmes offered by the department assist our students in developing competence, and confidence in creative application of design process. Students have opportunity to get placement in reputed industries such as TATA Motors Ltd, Hyundai Motors Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Maruti Suzuki Motors Ltd, Ashok Leyland, Blue star, Voltas, Royal Enfield, Valeo, TCE/TCS Ltd., Vestas and Visteon etc. The acquired knowledge would certainly act as an asset while pursuing research. The department houses two Research Centres of Excellence namely Centre for Robotics and Automation (ANRO) and Centre for Simulation and Engineering Design (SIMENDES). The influence of Nanoscience and Technology in areas such as Energy storage, Robotics, Surface Engineering and Tribology, has motivated the department to extend its curriculum and research towards this emerging field. The department focuses its research on thrust areas like Nanocomposites, Fuel Cells, Nano coatings and Nano fluid. Research facilities are also available in the areas of CAD/ CAM/CAE, Condition Monitoring, Renewable Energy, Composite Technology, Mechatronics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Alternate Fuels, Thermal Energy Storage, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Industrial Tribology, Metal Joining, and Industrial Ergonomics.

Some of the major laboratory facilities which include to the array of laboratories are Pneumatics and Automation Lab in collaboration with M/s SMC – India, Robotics Lab in collaboration with M/s YASKAWA – India, 3D Printing Lab, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Simulation Laboratory with latest modelling and simulation packages for numerical analysis, and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Laboratory with machine vision for tool condition monitoring.

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Bio Technology set under the School of Mechanical Sciences offers B. Tech. programmes in Chemical Engineering and Bio Technology. The curriculum covers a wide range of domains spanning from basic sciences to applied sciences emphasizing on research and development. These programmes serve as a bridge between industry and academics and are designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge about the various processes in the chemical industry. The department strives to develop industrycentric professionals specialized in chemical engineering principles, process design, petroleum refining, unit operations, unit processes and other core chemical engineering subjects. The B. Tech Bio Technology course intends to provide students an understanding about the various scientific processes combined with modern technological aspects, so that they are well versed in the field of Genetic Engineering, Cell Biology, Bio-Process Engineering, Downstream Processing, Immunology, Drug Design and Cancer Biology. The department organizes guest lectures inviting Professors, Scientists and Industrial experts from ISRO, IGCAR, CIBA, NIOT, IIT Madras, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals etc. Regular industrial visits to national research institutes and industries like CPCL, Vikram Sarabhai Space Station, NIOT aid students to relate learning with practical training. The department houses Edward Davis Chemical Engineering Lab, Arrhenius Laboratory, Louis Pasteur Biotechnology Lab, and Richard Feynman Research Lab for both Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology practices. It has sophisticated instrumentation facilities like Spectrophotometers, Packed Bed Distillation Column, Gas Chromatography, Centrifuge, Muffle Furnace, Stirred Tank Reactors, GelElectrophoresis, PCR Thermocycler, BOD Incubator, Lab-Scale fermenter, Biosafety Level II Cabinet, Thermal Conductivity Measurement Systems, Ultra sonicator (Probe type) etc.
Introduction

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering strives to develop as a centre of excellence in R&D. It offers undergraduate programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and postgraduate programmes in Power Electronics and Drives, Power System Engineering; and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The mission is to impart quality education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and develop ability for research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Cocurricular activities like symposiums, technical quiz, workshops and seminars are being organized among students at various levels to mould them in taking up exigent assignments in the extremely competitive global scenario. The faculty of the department incessantly carry out research on latest technologies and recurrently publish in indexed journals. The major research areas of the department include smart grid technology, electric vehicles, soft computing techniques, analysis and design of power converters, renewable energy systems, modelling and analysis of electrical machines. The department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by both the industry and government.

The department has well equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines Laboratory, Control and Instrumentation Laboratory, Applied Electronics Laboratory, Microcomputer and Simulation Laboratory, and Renewable Energy Research Laboratory for imparting practical knowledge and improving the skills of the students. Labs are equipped with latest simulation packages like MATLAB, ETAP, MULTISIM and LABVIEW. The lab facilities and the infrastructure are regularly upgraded to match the requirements of the hour.
Electronics & Communication Engineering

Established in 1985 Introduction
The Department plays a vital role in producing technologists and scientists of high caliber ever since its establishment. It offers undergraduate programme with specialization in Bio-Medical and postgraduate in Communication Systems and VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. The faculty of the department has been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge technologies and regularly publishes in IEEE and other top international journals. The department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by both the government and the industry. The department houses the Centre of Excellence in Photonics and LIDAR in association with IISc, Bangalore and MoU with Nokia Solutions and Networks India Private Limited, by which students are benefitted to pursue their higher studies abroad and carry out projects and internship with the above organizations. It also offers value added courses in Matlab, Aurdino and Tanner-EDA. Students have participated and won many awards in technical competitions such as Taiyozen Solar Vehicle Championship, Virtual Electra SAE, ISI Hybrid Vehicle Challenge, IEEE Autonomous Under Water Vehicle Challenge, IET- IoT Design Contest etc.

The department has eight laboratories with state of art facilities equipped with modern equipments and software tools like Matlab, Optsim, Mplab IDE, Keil, Multisim, Xilinx Vivado, Tanner 16.1. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researchers to learn and innovate.
Computer Science & Engineering Established 1993

The Department provides undergraduate in Cloud Computing and Virtualization, and Cyber Forensics and Security in association with IBM, postgraduate in Data Science and Engineering, and research programmes in the latest trends of Computer Science and Engineering by maintaining a balance between theoretical and experimental aspects of Computing Sciences. The curriculum of Computer Science and Engineering helps the students to skilfully equip oneself in ICT. The programmes in Computer Science and Engineering concentrates on bridging theory and practice; and are designed to equip students with the fundamental understanding and practical skills needed by the potential leaders of a demanding profession. The school maintains its relevance to the world-class research by linking with industry and research organizations through local and international research networks. MoUs with IT companies such as IBM, Infosys, D-Link, HTC Global Services, Oracle etc. aids to update the curriculum abreast with the latest industry requirements. IBM Cloud Computing Lab established in collaboration with IBM Innovative Centre for Education offers value added courses on Cloud Computing and Virtualization and Cyber Forensics and Security. Coder’s Hub Lab 1 and 2 are used for programming courses and contests. Millennium Lab 1 and 2 labs focus on offering algorithm related practical courses.
Information Technology Established 1998
Introduction
The Department of Information Technology provides B. Tech. programmes in Cloud Computing and Virtualization, and Cyber Security, and M. Tech. in Cyber Security and research programmes by maintaining the balance between theoretical and experimental aspects of Information Technology as well as software, hardware and communication issues and by providing curricula that serve the citizen and industrial organization. The world of information is rapidly growing, bringing in marvellous changes to skilfully equip oneself, as it has become the need of the hour. The department offers a quality research training experience for its students as well as faculty; and maintains its relevance to world-class research by linking with industry and business through local and international research networks. Collaborations with IT industries like NASSCOM, IBM, HTC-ITMR, IEEE immensely improves the learning and training prospects. The department houses three labs namely, Bill Gates lab, Huffman lab, and BOSS MOOL Open Source lab with modern software. Students here are trained and made competent in areas such as programming languages and open source languages. The labs also aid in attaining expertise in project areas.

The Department of Civil Engineering has grown in different spheres of activities producing able engineers and worthy entrepreneurs over the years. It equips its students to apply knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Engineering to design structures and systems that creatively solve engineering problems. The Department of Mathematics integrates all the branches of Engineering by imparting the course on Engineering Mathematics in under and postgraduate levels. The Department offers M. Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. The objective of the department is to train students in the innovative field of Applied Mathematics inculcating the concepts of computing, optimizing, grouping, classifying, testing and applying various tools of Mathematics in the field of Engineering and Technology. Faculty members have published 140 High Impact Factor Indexed International Journals across the world.

Two Language labs with computers powered by latest software give students a unique and customizable learning experience enabling them to master the language integrating technology. Customized learning materials provided in the language labs are tailor made to suit each student’s individual needs. The Department of Chemistry handles Chemical Science courses of all streams of B. Tech. It imparts in-depth knowledge and research skills in Chemistry and thereby helping students form a strong basic science and research foundation. The department also offers B.Sc. (Food Technology), M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. programmes. The highly qualified faculty members of the department are actively involved in research activities in the fields of Green Chemistry, Material Science, Polymers, Nano-technology, Catalysis, Organic Synthesis, Coordination Chemistry, etc. Research work of faculty members is supported by the premier national funding agencies such as DST, and DRDO.

The department was launched with a sole purpose to venture into the field of Fashion, Design and Arts. Experienced, qualified faculty impart knowledge to students through innovative teaching and training. The state-ofthe-art infrastructure availability for students enable them to obtain the best of skills and expertise. Students are offered a wide range of practical exposure through industrial visits, expert guest interactions, seminars, workshops, project work, internships and studies abroad with leading fashion institutions across the globe. The department offers Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Science programmes intending to produce dynamic design professionals equipped with strong creative and technical skills to become fashion leaders and trend setters. Creating manpower for the Fashion and Apparel Industry so as to meet the industrial competitiveness and growth is the emphasis of the department. Garment Construction Lab, Pattern Making and Draping Lab, Computer Lab, and Photography Lab fine tunes young designers from transforming sketches into the tangible form on paper or as draped structures using flat fabric to create a three-dimensional garment.
