Easter Weekend What a Glorious Time! A special thank you to all the volunteers who made this weekend possible. God was glorified as we celebrated together.

From our Associate Pastor of Music and Discipleship This week I was reading in 2 Corinthians 6 where Paul writes, “We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God…” (2 Cor. 6:3-4a, NLT) At first reading it seems that Paul is boasting, but at closer inspection, Paul is explaining that he is a man of integrity. Moody Commentary states, “His driving purpose in life was that no one would find fault with his gospel ministry because of an offense he committed. His life reflected his message.” Ask this question of your own life: Do you live in such a way that no one will stumble or find fault with your ministry? Our lives are to be a reflection of who Christ is. People want to see authenticity in us. In our culture, living a Christian life often gets us branded as fanatics, but it’s more important that we are found faithful to the calling God has placed upon our lives. In the words of Paul, may “we live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us.” .

From our Children/Youth Pastor A shout out from the "Hill Top" - thank you to all of the volunteers for making our Hillview Easter Extravaganza a success. We had the opportunity to welcome new faces and share the love of Christ. As our guests departed we had them stroll down "Mainstreet" in Kidzview to exit the building. Our guests were amazed at the decor. The "wow" factor was on full display to the hearts and minds of those precious children and adults too. With summer rapidly approaching we are in full swing with VBS preparation (June 23-27) and our upcoming mission trip with World Changers. Make sure you have your 4k - 5th grade students signed up for VBS, and we have three spots open for our youth mission trip on July 15 - 23 to Oxford, Alabama. We are excited to see all that God is doing in the children and youth of Hillview. Blessings, Pastor Mike & Felicia

May 2019 | Vol 6 Issue 5 Dear Church Family, I am becoming more and more aware of how blessed we are to be in the Family of God. “Oh, how He loves you and me.” The Lord has continued to bless His Church here on the hill. We were blessed and challenged to purchase 30 additional acres behind our present property. The church property is now at 40 acres. I tell you this so that you might praise the Lord for the future opportunities and so that you may begin praying for how the Lord would have us move forward in Building His Kingdom. The staff and leadership have begun to pray. We are leaning toward a strategy that would reach back to our children, youth, and young families. I am in my last quarter, as with many of you, and see the Great Commission target as those coming behind us. There are subdivisions all around us with younger families. Acts 1:8 (NASB95) 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” I believe our Jerusalem is Graniteville and the surrounding area. So begin praying with us as we dream and ask the Lord to give Hillview a Vision that lines up with the Great Commission and is saturated with the Great Commandment.

Matthew 22:37–40 (NASB95) 37 And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” Proverbs 29:18 (The Message) 18 If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. Suzanne and I love and appreciate you!

Pastor Donald
