From our Associate Pastor of Music and Discipleship I’ve been reading a book by Mike Harland, the “worship guru” at LifeWay. The book is entitled, Worship Essentials: Growing a Healthy Worship Ministry without Starting a War. In Chapter 2 Mike writes the following, “Worship has a starting place. In the book Seven Words of Worship, my coauthor Stan Moser and I use a simple definition of worship: “Worship is our only reasonable response to God’s revelation.” The idea is simple - worship is not something we initiate or conjure up for the purpose of convincing God to act on our behalf… We worship in response to our God, who has revealed himself to us.” Did you catch what he said? Worship isn’t something we do to convince God to bless us. Worship is our natural response to God’s revelation to us! When Isaiah encountered God in the temple, he said in Isaiah 6:5, “Woe is me for I am ruined because I am a man of unclean lips.” (CSB) His encounter with God revealed to him that he was a sinner. Isaiah was driven to his knees before a Holy God. When was the last time you encountered God and it drove you to your knees? When was the last time you truly worshiped uninhibited before God because of something He did in your life? I encourage you to get back to the basics. Let your worship overflow from a heart that is in constant communion with the Creator! .

From our Children/Youth Pastor A brief testimony from an eye witness in Kidzview Worship: “During our worship time in Kidzview, the children, like the adults in "Big Church," have an offering time. As the children were participating in the offering time, one of our children noticed another child did not have anything to give. Without any reservations they dug into their pockets and provided the child an offering to give to Jesus.” Every week we are amazed at how God is shaping the hearts and minds of our children and youth. VBS is rapidly approaching so please share with friends, relatives, associates and neighbors 4K to 5th grade to come and join us. You can pre-register online by going to the Hillview website. Also, we have two openings left to be a part of our youth mission trip to World Changers. Our youth will be on mission in Oxford, Alabama July 15 - 20. Blessings, Pastor Mike & Felicia

We are a most blessed people here on the Hill. The Lord continues to move within our midst and I want us to be very careful to give Him all the honor, praise, and glory. WE LOVE YOU LORD! Our Discipleship Groups launched back at the first of the year and what an encouragement and blessing they are to me. Just think, daily the Hill has 50-60 adults reading His Word, journaling His Word and making personal application to their lives. Also, meeting weekly to quote memorized scripture, share their lives, and pray for one another. We will relaunch as these folks get their own D Group of 3-5 people next year. WOW! Sounds like Matthew 28:18-20 and 2 Timothy 2:2 to me! We are currently expanding our Greeter Ministry Team so our visitors will know they are honored guest in God’s House on the Hill. If you have a heart for this ministry, please call the church office. Sounds like Matthew 22:39 to me! We are putting together a Prayer Team to develop a strategy for the Hill to be a House of Prayer. If you have a heart for this ministry, please call the church office. Sounds like Matthew 21:13 to me! Please pray for our Vision Team as they pray and strategize regarding our facility needs. We all know our immediate need for more parking and fellowship space. Pray and lift this team to His Throne of Grace and Mercy. Sounds like Matthew 16:18 to me! Lord, You are Amazing!!! Suzanne and I are honored and privileged to serve you. Pastor Donald
