Welcome New Members
From our Associate Pastor of Music and Discipleship My Sunday School class has recently started studying the book of Colossians. The Apostle Paul was such an eloquent writer, and, just to think, he used to be the church’s biggest persecutor. But, God touched his life and used him to be a missionary to the Gentiles, and, because of his writings, we have some of the greatest passages of Scripture ever written. One of those passages struck a chord with me this past week. In Colossians 1:15-17 Paul writes, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things and by him all things hold together.” (CSB) It is amazing to think that before the world began Jesus was there. He was there in the beginning (John 1:1), he came to earth and lived among his people (John 1:14) and is forever now with God making intercession for us (Romans 8:34). It’s even more amazing to think that Jesus Christ, the living Son of God prays for me, and he prays for you. Every time we gather together we lift our voices and our hearts in praise to the Creator of the Universe who holds all things together through Jesus Christ. That is such an amazing thought! Coming up on August 25 at 10:30am the choir will be holding a “Christmas Musical Reveal Party.” If you have ever considered joining the choir, consider this an open invitation to come and be a part of that day! You will love it! I promise you. Starting our Christmas Musical rehearsals offers the perfect time for new people to join and learn along with the rest of us. If you have questions about choir, please don’t hesitate to call me. I look forward to seeing you in choir soon!

Dear Hillview Church Family, Suzanne and I want to let you know how very blessed and at peace we are to be with you here at Hillview. We have been praying to the Lord to be used for His honor and glory, and He has answered that prayer by placing us with you for this journey. We feel excitement as we look down the road and see His Hand already moving within our church. When we think of Hillview, we can say with Nehemiah, Ezra, and Ezekiel, “THE GRACIOUS GOOD HAND OF THE LORD IS UPON US.” Let’s look for HIS FINGERPRINTS as we go. We are most blessed! Together with you, Pastor Donald and Suzanne Philippians 1:6
