At High Point University, you'll be part of a vibrant student body that truly stands out. The energetic, uplifting environment creates the perfect backdrop for students to thrive and live their best lives, both academically and socially.
Whether students are filling the Qubein Arena to cheer on their Division I basketball teams or attending unforgettable concerts, savoring delicious free food from weekly food trucks, enjoying campus carnivals, meeting friends for an on-campus hibachi dinner that's all part of the meal plan, or relaxing at HPU's nail and hair salons (see page 7), HPU offers endless opportunities to have fun and make memories.
These exciting and engaging events and spaces are more than just a fun peek into student life at HPU — they’re a reflection of HPU’s holistic approach to the entire academic journey and the belief that students should love where they live throughout their college experience.
There are 168 hours in a week. Students are in class for approximately 20 of those hours. How do students spend all that remaining time? At HPU, they'll join a variety of campus organizations that fit their personalities, conduct undergraduate research, prepare for the real world with experiential learning opportunities, enjoy countless meals with friends at HPU's nationally ranked dining facilities and ultimately make memories they'll cherish for the rest of their lives.
With over 300 intramural teams, 200 student clubs and organizations, 17 Division I athletic teams, 35 club sports, 18 Greek life organizations, and so many more aspects of student life, HPU prepares students to live a life of significance both in and outside the classroom.
HPU is committed to providing a safe environment with endless opportunities for students, with a goal to enhance both their academic achievements as well as their personal growth and development.
HPU students hosted a live pre-game show before ESPNU aired an HPU men’s basketball game. Fellow students and professors operated cameras and sound, making the entire production a hands-on learning experience for communication majors.

Most recently, students toured the U.S. Capitol, appeared on “Good Morning America” and had the opportunity to network with professionals who work for well-known brands such as Google, KIND, AT&T, ABC News, Amazon and Boston Red Sox
Fine-Dining Learning Labs
1924 PRIME, Alo and Kazoku, HPU's finedining learning labs, allow students to practice etiquette and communication skills, and explore international flavors, customs, and culture during dinner for four years at HPU. You'll find an airplane fuselage located in Cottrell Hall, HPU's hub for career development. It offers the profile of a plane’s interior, complete with power outlets for laptops, overhead storage, reclining seats and inspirational quotes that scroll through the windows of the plane. But why? Because, this space allows students to practice their personal quick-pitch to anyone seated nearby. You never know who you'll be seated next to on a plane (or anywhere!) and this design serves as a reminder to always be ready for your next opportunity.

Not only did the Panthers win their third consecutive Sasser Cup but HPU swept all three all-sports trophies, winning the sixth straight Women's All-Sports Cup and the first-ever Men's All-Sports Cup. ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
High Point University welcomed its largest crowd ever, more than 2,500 people, to the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center, for the 14th Annual Veterans Day Celebration, honoring veterans who have served our nation. The event was filled with patriotic speakers and moments to show appreciation for veterans, who were welcomed to a free breakfast after walking a red carpet lined with cheering HPU students. Nearly 100 student volunteers greeted and assisted veterans throughout the event. Grammy Award-winning singer Lee Greenwood, who recently joined HPU’s Access to Innovators program as its Artist in Residence, opened the program with “The Star-Spangled Banner” and sang his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA” to close the program. The North Carolina Brass Band provided patriotic music along with the HPU Chamber Singers, and an eagle soared over the crowd before veterans were gifted with an HPU blanket.
Each year, HPU President Nido Qubein hands out teddy bears to all freshmen during a special session of his First-Year Seminar on Life Skills, a class taught by the president and other accomplished leaders. HPU freshmen are encouraged to give the teddy bear away to somebody who has positively impacted their life. For President Qubein, the teddy bear is a quintessential symbol of childlike innocence, and gifting it to another provides an important life lesson on love, safety and stewardship.

Students, faculty and staff honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by volunteering more than 2,000 hours of service to more than a dozen service projects on campus and around the city of High Point. In addition to these service projects, HPU announced its donation of $250,000 to support local entrepreneurs and develop the Washington Street Historic District in the city of High Point.
Families appreciate HPU’s commitment to values-based learning and living. Watch these families and students explain why HPU was the right fit for them.
Each year, HPU freshmen kick off their first day of classes by giving back to the community and surprising local children with 150 new bicycles. After receiving the bikes, HPU treated the children to three different food trucks for lunch while a DJ pumped up the music. This event is one of the many ways HPU contributes 500,000 hours of service to the community each year.
Annually, HPU students commit nearly 500,000 hours of community service to local organizations and beyond.
