The vision for the resort was a nature inspired four season resort that focused on nature, pedestrians, families, sports enthusiasts, and wellness. The central theme of the resort is lifestyle themed; a place where guests can enjoy all the comforts and amenities of their life back home but in a beautiful, relaxing and laid-back natural mountain environment. The layout and design of the resort hotel zone and center reflects a human scale European style pedestrian village street with commercial space located on the ground floor and accommodation on the floors above. At the resort, you will find all levels of accommodation ranging from 3, 4, and 5-star hotels, to mountain and golf villas and family accommodation. The village also includes arts, culture and entertainment including a Traditional Chinese Family Spa, a performing arts theater, interpretive museum, Feature Lake, island and lakeside restaurant, family entertainment, shopping and dining. The resort includes one Jack Nicklaus 18-hole Championship golf course and two Robert Trent Jones II Championship 18-hole golf courses. The ski area was designed with state-of-the-art ski lift systems, snowmaking and grooming to ensure an International level and quality of visitor experience. Two gondolas service a mountain top restaurant and offer lift accessed summer sightseeing and hiking with beautiful views and sweeping vistas of Changbai Mountain.

Xiang Shui Wan Resort recently received the 2013 Grand Award of Honors for the best on the Boards International Project. This award-winning 77 acre site located in Sanya on Hainan Island, China features lush, tropical vegetation with beautiful rocks and hillside vistas and 660 linear feet of beach front to the south. The site plan creates movement towards the sea and creates view corridors wherever possible to the beach. The concept vision is focused on creating high-end residential opportunities with a 7 star tropical beach hotel and condominium supporting the families and guests of this exclusive residential community. A gated hillside community with in the community identifies nine estate sites. These estates are intended to differentiate this development from the many successful neighboring resorts by establishing a world class potential to join the most exclusive resort property in properties in China. The lagoon is a major feature to walk along and to travel by boat and ferry to and from the hotel and the beach. Waterfalls flow to enhance the hillside experience and provide the sound of nature. This community offers peace, solitude and entertainment with a special relationship to the dramatic hillside environment and the sea. By calling this proposal eco-cove, the intention is to bring together two main elements: a resort that is secluded and a landscape that has ecological health. A ‘cove’ represents an image of a place of calm seclusion, protected from the outside world. ‘Eco’ is about creating a place that improves its ecological wellbeing over time, and reduces its dependence on the outside world for its water, energy, food and recreation. A key element underpinning the master plan is a desire to build upon the existing ecological and landscape systems. To enhance, regenerate, repair and improve the natural state of the existing systems with sensitivity to the properties on the site.
