INTRODUCTION Tools required
Several basic tools are required for dismantling or assembling the actuator. The tools and their functions are described below. 1. PIPE VICE 2. HEXAGONAL WRENCH For removing and replacing the sealing plugs and locking screws.

13. SET OF HEX WRENCHES For removing and replacing the sealing plugs and locking screws (106, 110).
14. SEAL TOOLS For removing and installing seals and wear guides. Instructions for producing a seal tool are provided below.
15. PUNCH 16. POSITIONING PINS For removing and installing the cap.

6. DRILL 7. ELECTRIC TORCH To assist in finding and examining the sync markings, any faults on the parts and the general condition.
8. RUBBER MALLET For removing and installing the piston and shaft sleeve assembly.
PRODUCTION OF A SEAL TOOL The seal tool is simply a screwdriver with a modified blade. 1. Heat the flat end with a blow torch until it is cherry red. 2. Place the heated end in a vice and fold the heated end over slightly. 3. Round off all the sharp edges on the heated part to a fine finish. The tool can be modified slightly to suit personal preferences.

11. FELT TIP MARKER To highlight the sync markings and mark out problem areas. A permanent ink marker is recommended.
