CONTROLS 1. On/off blower control Turn clockwiseto the firstpositionto turn on the airconditioning.Rotatefurtherto increase the flow of conditionedairfrom the four vents in the lowerfascia.

NOTE: The airconditioningwillnot operate without the enginerunning. 2. Temperaturecontrol Rotateclockwiseto obtainprogressively coolerair.

USINGTHE AIR CONDITIONING (iffitted) If your vehiclehas been fittedwith an air conditioningsystem,you may find the followingguidelinesuseful. Airconditioningprovidesadditionalcoolingto the vehicleinteriorand alsoreducesthe moisturecontentof the air. The airconditioningsystemwillonly operate with the enginerunning.It is alsoimportantto keepthe windowsclosedduringoperation. Operationof the airconditioningsystem, placesan additionalload on the enginewhich, in veryhot conditionsand if the engineis requiredto workunusuallyhard, could result in high enginetemperatures.If the temperaturegauge pointerreachesthe RED zone, turn the airconditioningoff untilengine temperaturereturnsto normal. Points to remember: • If the temperatureinsidethe vehicleis higherthan that outsidewhen you start the engine,it willtaketimefor the air conditioningto becomefullyeffective.It is best to ventilatethe vehicleby opening the windowsand operatingthe fan on the heaterunit for a briefperiodbefore switchingon the airconditioning.

Rememberto closethe windows wheneverthe airconditioningis operating. • Operatingthe airconditioningtakespower from the engineand consequently increasesfuelconsumption. • Allairconditioningsystemsneed to be operatedfor a shortwhileeveryweek (evenin winter)to maintainthem in peak condition. • The airconditioningsystemwillalso dehumidifyair.The surpluswater producedby thisprocessis expelledfrom the systemviadraintubes beneaththe vehicle.This may resultin a smallpool of waterformingon the road when the vehicleis stationaryand is not a causefor concern.
