Warninglights

The warninglightsarecolourcoded as follows: RED lightsarewarnings.

WARNING DONOTdriveif a REDwarning light remains on once the engine is running or illuminates whilst driving.

GREEN& BLUE lightsindicatethat a unit is operating. AMBER lightsshow that a unit is operating and should be switchedoff (or rectified)as soon as conditionsallow. Low engine oil pressure - RED Illuminatesas a bulb checkwhen the starterswitchis turnedto position’II’and extinguisheswhen the engine is running.If it remainson, or illuminates whilstdriving,STOP THE VEHICLE as soon as safetypermitsand seekqualifiedassistance beforecontinuing.Alwayscheckoillevels when thislightilluminates.

NOTE: At verylow ambienttemperatures,the lightmay takeseveralsecondsto extinguish. Batterycharging - RED Illuminatesas a bulb checkwhen the starterswitchis turnedto position’II’and extinguisheswhen the engine is running.If it remainson, or illuminates whilstdriving,a faultis indicated.Seek qualifiedassistanceurgently. Brakesystemcheck - RED Illuminatesas a bulb checkwhen the starterswitchis turnedto position’II’and extinguisheswhen the engine is runningand the handbrakeis released.If it remainson, or illuminateswhilstdriving,a faultwith the brakingsystemis indicated. STOP THE VEHICLE as soon as safetypermits and seekqualifiedassistancebefore continuing.

WARNING DONOTdrivethe vehiclewhile the brake warning light is illuminated.

Directionindicators - GREEN Flashesin conjunctionwith the directionindicators.If the light does not illuminate,thismay indicatea bulb failurein the warninglightpackor in one of the directionindicatorlights. Headlight main beam - BLUE Illuminateswheneverthe main beam headlightsareon. Hazardwarning lights - RED Illuminatesin conjunctionwith the directionindicatorwarning lights,when the hazardwarninglightsare operated.

Differentiallock - AMBER Illuminateswheneverthe differentiallockis engaged. If the lightremainson afterthe differential lockis disengaged,transmission’windup’ may be present.Reversingfor a short distanceand then going forwardwillusually ’unwind’the transmission.If the lightremains on, contactyour dealeras soon as possible. Heated rear screen - AMBER Illuminateswhen the rearscreen heateris operating. Trailerdirectionindicators GREEN Flashesin conjunctionwith the vehicledirectionindicatorlightsto show that alltrailerindicatorlightsarefunctioning correctly.In the eventof a bulb failureon the trailer,the warninglightflashesonce and then remainsoff.

NOTE: When a traileris not fitted,the warninglightwillonly flashonce. Sidelights - GREEN Illuminateswheneverthe sidelightsareon. Rearfog guard lights - AMBER Illuminateswheneverthe rearfog guard lightsareon. REMEMBER: In clearconditions,rearfog guard lightscan dazzleotherroad users.Use ONLYwhen visibilityis severelyrestricted. Handbrake - RED(iffitted) In some markets,the light illuminateswhen the starter switchis turnedto position’II’and the handbrakeis applied.The lightshould extinguishwhen the handbrakeis fully released.Ifthe lightremainson or illuminates whiledriving,seekqualifiedassistancebefore continuing.

Seat belt warning - RED (iffitted) In some markets,if the driver’s seatis occupied,the lightilluminateswhen the starterswitchis turnedto position’II’.The lightextinguishesas soon as the driver’sseat beltis fastened.ALWAYS fastenyour seatbelt BEFOREdriving!

Transmissionoil temperature RED(iffitted) Illuminateswhen gearboxoil temperatureis too high (mostlikelyto occur in veryhot weather,duringcontinuoushigh speeddriving,when towing heavyloadson steepinclines,or if the handbrakehas been appliedwhen driving). If the lightilluminates,reducespeed.If the lightremainson, stop the vehicleand do not driveuntilit has extinguished.
