FRONTSEAT ADJUSTMENT
WARNING To avoid the riskof loss of controland personalinjury,never adjust the driver’s seat or seatbackwhile the vehicleis in motion. DONOTallow occupantsto travelwith the seat backsreclinedsteeplyrearwards. Optimum benefit is achieved from the seat belt, with the seat back angle set to 25 degrees from the vertical(upright)position.
Forward/backwardmovement Lift the bar at the front of the seatbaseto slidethe seatforwardor back.Ensurethe seat is lockedin positionbeforedriving.
Backrestmovement Lift the leverand leanbackwardsor forwards to achievethe desiredangle,then lowerthe leverto lock.
Rearseats Your Defenderis fittedwith inwardfacingrear seats,whichcan be foldedawaywhen not in use. To erectthe seats,releasethe strapsecuring the seatbase,pullout the seatstand and fold down the seatbase,ensuringthat the seat stand locateswherethe vehiclefloormeets the wheelarch(seeillustration).
WARNING DONOTadjust the seats or seat stands while the vehicleis in motion. When the seat is erected,the seat stand should be visuallycheckedand physically tested,to ensure that the seatbase is secure before driving. DONOTallow the rear seats to be used unless the seat stand is in the correct position. Ensure that rear seat passengerswear seat belts at all times. DONOTcarrypassengersin the rear of the vehicleunless rear seats are fitted.
