Prior to operation Universal drive shaft Push the drive shaft onto the tractor's PTO. Before first-time operation, check the length of the drive shaft when driving through bends. DANGER! Risk of injury from drive shaft becoming disconnected during operation! – Check that all locks are securely engaged before starting work with the drive shaft. Checking and matching the drive shaft Bring tractor and swather into the straight-ahead position, and push both shaft sections onto the PTO stub ends. Place the two sections alongside each other, and mark them so that a sliding distance (S) of 320 mm remains. (Fig. 3)
3 Shortening the drive shaft Shorten the inner and outer guard tubes by the same amount. Shorten the inner and outer splined sections by the same amount as the guard tubes. (Fig. 4)

• Remove protective tube. • Unscrew bolts (E) and pull seal ring (D) off.
