Universal shaft, wheel side 132
– The universal shaft can easily be extracted once the wheel pivot has been removed.

– Check the shafts and splines. – Replace the spiders (129) if worn or damaged (fig. 58).
Universal shaft, differential side – The nut and grub screw securing the universal joint on the 2 sides of the axle must be removed (fig. 66). – The pressure on the torsion bars must be released to move the lower arm away freely and, in some cases, the torsion bar must be removed altogether.

– Pull out and extract the universal joint protector. Important : During the assembly of parts (132) and (134), line up the jaws of these two parts. Under no circumstances must the jaws be offset by 90°. – On refitting, lubricate and insert the combined joints (136) using tool n° 60 0500 656 0 and tool n° 60 0500 656 1. – Refit the wheel pivot. – Perform the final operations.
