5. Remove the throttle cable from the actuator arm.

! WARNING Whenever any maintenance or inspection is performed on the fuel system during which there may be fuel leakage, there should be no welding, smoking, open flames, etc., in the area.
REMOVING 1. Remove the seat; then remove the gas tank (see Gas Tank in this section). 2. Remove the cap screws securing the air filter housing to the frame; then loosen the clamp securing air inlet boot to the carburetor and remove the air filter.

6. Loosen the outer jam nut securing the throttle cable to the carburetor body; then route the cable out of the way.
