IF OUR beachfront caravan parks go, there is a potential loss of over 60,000 overnight stays annually and tens of millions of dollars in tourism money, that our community simply cannot afford.

More than that, we lose a piece of our communities long held fabric.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council has recently voted to pause the $22 million redevelopment of the iconic Pialba and Torquay Caravan Parks, opting instead to initiate a community consultation process. This process will explore new possibilities, including the option of repurposing this prime space for public use.

While the council has not explicitly stated that the parks will close, they have not ruled it out either. It is crucial that the community be fully informed about the potential impact of this decision.

The recent motion tabled by Division 10 Councillor Zane O’Keefe, reflects a clear intent to reassess the use of the land for both Pialba and Torquay Caravan Parks, with the aim of unlocking it for broader community benefit.

The motion was heavily supported and seconded by Cr Lachlan Cosgrove imploring Council to ‘look very closely at unlocking land for our residents to use as premier recreation spots’, pointing out the ‘unimpeded ocean views at the caravan parks were only on offer to people staying there and were not comparable to other public spaces which were blocked by trees’.

Just a few months ago, in an impassioned address against approving the 19 storey Torquay esplanade development, which would house the

Sheraton Resort Cr Lachlan Cosgrove offered our reliance on tourism benefits and revenue, to voice his strong distain.

‘What is the product? I would say in a nutshell, pristine natural environment and eco-tourism is the primary flavour of what we have to offer here in Hervey Bay. The natural environment is indeed our most marketable feature,’ he claimed.

In what can only be interpreted as a pivot away from tourism attraction, Cosgrove took to social media after the motion broke, adding ‘the land at Torquay (where the caravan park currently sits) could have a better community use. I will be advocating for this position’.

Cr O’Keefe and Cr Cosgrove are at the spearhead of the motion to relook at the funding for Pialba and Torquay Caravan Parks and it is important to note that the motion was passed unanimously, if not enthusiastically, by most councillors.

Given the circumstances, the other councillors had no option than to support the motion of their colleagues or face questioning over their commitment to allow the community to have their say.

Most councillors have expressed reluctance at the prospect of any change.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council had already earmarked $22 million for the redevelopment of Pialba and Torquay Caravan Parks in their 10-year capital works program—a clear commitment to the community.

If economic circumstance now dictates a reassessment of that, the logical step would be to pause the projects and explore more cost-effective solutions on delivering an already

agreed outcome for the community, rather than opening a debate on entirely changing course and potentially closing the parks.

Councillor Chapman raised concerns about how he was ‘deeply disturbed by a business-led agenda’ aimed at closing the Torquay Caravan Park.

It is fair to ask if there has been a level of lobbying from the corporate community.

It is vitally important to also understand that we have been down this track before.

In 2014, a working group was established on the Fraser Coast by the then LNP government, for the purposes of defining the Queensland Camping Options Toolkit.

The thirty-five-page report succinctly outlined many recommendations for the future, including a proposition to close one of the caravan parks.

A working group was established from a broad group of community and business people from across Fraser Coast and the overwhelming feedback from them, was leave the parks alone.

All of them.

Last year, the Fraser Coast welcomed a record 986,000 visitors, generating $692.9 million in tourism revenue.

Domestic overnight stays also hit a record 891,000, with visitors spending an average of $199 per night in our very own community.

Between Pialba and Torquay Caravan Parks, there are over 300 sites that contribute significantly to this tourism success.

Occupancy for caravan, camping and cabin sites is currently at an all time high of 71% regionally and 90% of nights spent caravan and camping is in regional Australia, according to the Federal Government’s Tourism Research

It unlikely there will be any further action taken on this motion until next year, however it is important to note that Council does not make decisions based on social media feedback.

That’s probably a good thing for those currently advocating for this motion to succeed, which I currently count as two. They would likely be re-evaluating their approach right now, given the already significant community backlash that has already emerged. Instead, Council relies on the official community consultation process via their online Engagement Hub.

While this platform is a positive step toward fostering meaningful conversations, in my view, there is a clear need for better advertising to the community when situations such as this arise and Council is seeking residents to express their views in a formal way.

This was evident during the Hervey Bay Library and Admin Centre debate.

fabric of Hervey Bay.

While it’s true that beachfront caravan parks are disappearing nationwide, why should we let that happen here?

These parks add unique character to our town, underpinning the relaxed coastal lifestyle that we all cherish as the city rapidly grows around us.

They are not just iconic—they define a part of who we are.

If these parks are closed, where will those tourists go?

If the council is prepared to revisit a previously committed $22 million investment, they should be equally willing to invest in effectively informing the public—and a substantial advertising campaign should be allocated to properly advertise this consultation and gather feedback.

I firmly believe that the Torquay and Pialba Caravan Parks are an integral part of the very

We risk losing them forever, along with the vital tourism they bring. Caravanning has evolved—it’s no longer just for retirees; it’s a game for young families now.

We must nurture this growing trend because it’s deeply tied to our idyllic identity.

Whatever the cost, we must protect these parks.

We’ve just struck a balance between old and new with the approval of the Sheraton project.

Now, it’s up to us, the residents, to decide the fate of these parks. Don’t let them disappear.

In my personal opinion, I am committed to opposing any proposal to repurpose our iconic beachfront caravan parks.

The stakes for our community and local economy are simply too high.

We will keep you informed every step of the way on how you can have your say.

IT’S TIME to untangle your fairy lights and start planning your Christmas light displays.

Fraser Coast residents planning on decorating their homes for Christmas can register now to be part of the Fraser Coast Christmas Lights Trail.

Fraser Coast Regional Councillor John Weiland said 150 families put their homes on the map in 2023, so we’re hoping to include even more this year.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to showcase their decorated homes for everyone to enjoy and spread festive cheer,” he said.

“Last year, we had some

amazing light displays with Ronaldo Way in Urangan crowned Christmas Street for 2023.”

“Before that, Kingfisher Drive in Oakhurst won Christmas Street for three years in a row.”

Cr Weiland said if three or more neighbours team up, they are eligible for the title of Christmas Street, judged by the Mayor.

“The winning street earns a ‘Christmas Street’ sign to display for 12 months.”

Julie Deakin from Ronaldo Way said decorating for Christmas was so much fun and it really brought the residents together.

“Last year, Ronaldo Way had so many houses participate,

and we hope to see even more this year so we can continue to see everyone’s smiles as they enjoy the lights.”

Cr Weiland said to participate in the Christmas Lights Trail, you must fill out the online registration form on the Council website www. frasercoast.qld.gov.au/festive.

“Residents can also visit Council Customer Service centres or ring Council on 1300 79 49 29 to ask a Customer Service Officer to help them fill in the online form.

“Council will create a map of the Christmas lights, which will be available on our website in early December.”

Registrations close at 5pm on Thursday, November 21.

GETTING in and out of the Hervey Bay Airport will soon be easier, with work commencing on an upgrade to the new car park system.

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said upgrades at the airport are progressing alongside rising passenger numbers since Jetstar launched direct flights between Hervey Bay and Melbourne in June.

“Passenger numbers have steadily increased each month, with a 44.3% rise since September 2023,” he said.

“The Hervey Bay Airport is busier than ever, handling 20,000 passengers per month, further solidifying the Fraser Coast as a must-visit destination.”

Cr Seymour said work on the new ticketless car park system starts next week and is due to be finished by November 2024.

“This system offers greater convenience, is eco-friendly, and will reduce entry and exit times,” he said.

“Council recently introduced 30 minutes of free parking, removing the need to use the two-minute lane for pick up and drop off, making travel more affordable for our community.

“The 30-minute free parking will remain, but those staying longer will need to pay at one

of two new payment machines before exiting the car park.

“You can pay at the terminal by inputting your number plate into the payment machine or you can simply drive to the exit gate and swipe your credit card.

“Council is committed to continually upgrading the airport to make the overall travel experience more comfortable and convenient for passengers.”

Hervey Bay Airport has commercial flights that operate regularly to and from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Lady Elliot Island and K’gari.

Earlier this year, the airport’s departure lounge received an interim upgrade to accommodate 250 passengers and reduce crowding during peak times. Permanent improvements are expected to

begin in July 2025.

“In the coming months, we will also upgrade the baggage handling system with stateof-the-art equipment,” Cr Seymour said.

“This new equipment will reduce wait times, minimise breakdowns, and make luggage handling quicker and more efficient.”

Cr Seymour said the growing number of passengers is a great sign for the region.

“With the increased interstate flights from Melbourne and Sydney, we are seeing more and more people recognise what a great destination the Fraser Coast is,” he said.

“Council is focused on building a strong, resilient and diversified economy, and having a strong aviation sector and thriving tourism industry is key to that vision.”

EIGHT community advocates have been appointed to Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Inclusive Access Advisory Committee (IAAC) to help meet the needs and aspirations of people with disability.

Committee Chair Cr John Weiland expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for dedicating their time to provide advice on inclusive access issues.

“The IAAC will look at all aspects of community life, from urban design and infrastructure to Council services, events and activities,” he said. “The committee offers advice on how we can

remove barriers and ensure the Fraser Coast is inclusive for everyone.”

The IAAC will meet quarterly, providing input into Council’s policies and Disability Action Plan, while assisting Council in becoming a leader in delivering accessible infrastructure and services.

“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance accessibility across the Fraser Coast,” Cr Weiland said.

“One exciting initiative is an upcoming mobile mapping service that will enable residents and visitors to easily find accessible footpaths, public transport options, parking, and amenities.”

Committee members have been appointed for a two-year term.

“By working together we can raise awareness and develop strategies to address social issues, strengthening both our community and Council’s ability to build inclusive, accessible communities,” Cr Weiland said.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Hive has recently welcomed a stunning new artwork created by local artist Jordan Spokes, a former participant in HBNC’s Industry Ready Training (IRT) program.

The piece, titled Wisdom Coming to Rest, was installed as a contribution from Jordan to express his gratitude for the organisation’s support during his time in the program.

Inspired by his fascination with owls, the allegorical symbol of wisdom, Jordan created the artwork as a way of giving back to HBNC and its community.

The piece features a striking contrast between a richly textured, gnarled tree and the long, smooth lines of an owl resting within its branches.

Jordan was inspired by Italian art styles, as well as comic book references.

“The idea really came to life as I painted it,” Jordan said.

“I didn’t come into it with a plan. I wanted to do what I felt, which is why the tree is so texturally dense and gnarled. I wanted it to be a contrast to the owl’s smooth lines.”

This artwork marks Jordan’s largest project to date, taking between 30 and 40 hours to complete.

“It was definitely a labour of love, but it was fairly swift, all things considered,” Jordan said.

“The communal support I received really helped the project come to life.”

Jordan’s journey in the Industry Ready Training

program has been deeply personal, and his creation of Wisdom Coming to Rest is a powerful symbol of both personal growth and community connection.

“My time here at The Neighbourhood Hive has given me the affirmation that I’m not alone in the world,” he said.

“There are people who appreciate my values and who appreciate people for who they are, not who they could be.

“That’s a reinforcement of wisdom, something I hold dear and something I think is very noble.”

HBNC is thrilled to feature Jordan’s artwork as a part of The Neighbourhood Hive’s creative and collaborative space.

AT THE RECENT Barbeques Galore National Conference held on the Gold Coast, the Barbeques Galore Hervey Bay store received two prestigious awards.

The store was announced as the recipient of one of only four Performance Excellence Awards across the Franchisee network, presently numbering 30 stores across Australia.

The award encompasses a number of criteria including sales, customer service, store layout and business management.

Owner, David Carter, was thrilled to receive such recognition.

“Our success reflects the effort put in by our dedicated staff and the support from the people living in and visiting the area.”

“We endeavour to meet our customers’ needs, providing specialised advice backed up with proven product,” David explains.

“We are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that our customers have a product that will fulfill and hopefully exceed their expectations.”

This sentiment was further exemplified with the Hervey Bay store Team Leader, Joshua du Toit, being named as the Franchisee Employee of the Year.

“Whether it be dealing with customers, ticking off the stock on delivery days, filling copious gas cylinders, rearranging floor displays or grilling up a tasty lunch, Josh always displays a positive attitude and passion for his work,” David adds.

“We are very proud of what we have achieved since opening the Hervey Bay store in 2019 and will

continue to provide great service in barbecues, smokers, outdoor furniture, wood heating and all the accessories. We live, work and relax here and are committed to contributing to the region’s future growth and prosperity.”

LIVING on the Fraser Coast region offers some amazing lifestyle benefits— the warm summers, the water, the fishing and the great outdoors.

However, with sunshine comes the increased risk of skin damage, including the potential for skin cancer.

This is why residents of Fraser Coast prioritise regular skin checks as part of their healthcare routine.

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

In Queensland, including the Fraser Coast area, experiences some of the most intense UV radiation levels.

Long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun significantly increases the risk of developing skin cancer.

Unfortunately, many of you may have experienced sun damage, prior to the knowledge of skin cancer.

As a GP, I hear about the days when people would use olive oil or coconut oil followed by sitting on their roofs to get a tan.

Prevention of skin cancer is

better than the cure and many of us would remember Sid the Seagull from the 1980s and 1990s, to ensure with “Slip, Slop and Slap”.

We can slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat.

Further sliding on some sunglasses and remember to seek shade.

Skin cancer is treatable when detected early, but it can be deadly if left unchecked.

There are many types of skin cancer, ranging from squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) basal cell carcinomas (BCC) and melanomas.

Melanoma is one of the most dangerous forms of skin cancer, can spread to other parts of the body if not caught in time.

Regular skin checks by your general practitioner who is trained in skin cancer detection can identify suspicious moles, spots, or lesions that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Early detection allows for less invasive treatments and dramatically improves survival rates and complications.

Even if you use sunscreen and take sun safety precautions, it’s essential to have your skin checked regularly, as not all skin cancers are related to sunburn or visible damage.

Some can develop in areas not commonly exposed to the sun, such as the soles of your feet or under your nails.

The outdoors of the Fraser Coast should be enjoyed, but it’s vital to balance these activities with sun safe practices.

Regular skin checks are a simple, quick, and effective way to protect your health.

Southern Queensland was recently voted one of Queensland’s most trusted Home Care Providers in the Trusted Brands awards, for a third consecutive year.

Anglicare Southern Queensland has welcomed the announcement by the Federal Government to provide 24,000 additional Home Care Packages Australia-wide this financial year, which will allow them to provide additional support to those who need it most.

A Home Care Package is for older Australians with complex needs who may require additional care and support to remain living at home safely whereas the Commonwealth Home Support

Program provides support for people with low-level care needs.

Anglicare Client Liaison, Tayla Weaver firmly believes the personcentred approach delivered by Anglicare is the key to gaining the trust of the community and providing life-changing support to its clients.

“By understanding our clients and their goals, we can provide high-quality care, that allows the individual to stay as independent as possible and remain living in their own home as long as possible,” Tayla said.

“Our clients enjoy the care they receive from us. They feel valued, appreciated and heard.” For many older Queenslanders

who wish to continue living in their own home, the transition to requiring personal care or help around the house can be inevitable.

As of 31 March 2024, 284,429 people nationally had access to a Home Care Package. This is a 6% (15,685) increase since the same time last year.

Anglicare recognises that the need for additional support not only impacts the individual client but, in many cases, also the loved one or primary carer and is mindful of this when working with clients.

Susan is the daughter of Graham, an Anglicare Southern Queensland Home Care Package client. She noticed her dad needed support around the home and decided to

approach

Susan and Graham have both felt the positive impact Anglicare’s services have had on their lives.

“These services have impacted both our lives for the better,” said Susan.

Having the additional support from Anglicare provides peace of mind for Susan as she knows he is in trusted hands.

“Dad really enjoys his social outings. He will ring me and talk for an hour or so about the great time he had,” she said.

“I know that when the shopping

day comes, he will have things at home that he likes and that the staff have helped him find. I know that he will be with someone for company, and I won’t be running around trying to get a bit of time in my day to come over.”

Graham added, “I am really happy with the support I receive from Anglicare.”

“I get my cleaning done every fortnight, the staff at Anglicare take me shopping and then I go on the bus trips which I thoroughly enjoy. I always choose the mystery trips as I love the surprise of not knowing where I’m going.”

Susan said she would recommend Anglicare as the provider of choice to all her family and friends.

“When the time comes for my dad to need that next level of care, I would definitely trust Anglicare for my dad,” she said.

“My advice to those who require help at home, is to not be afraid. Ring up My Aged Care. Have a talk to them, ask questions and then give Anglicare a call.”

To apply for a Home Care Package, call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422, or visit myagedcare. gov.au to register for an assessment.

MARYBOROUGH’s mission to encourage children to imagine and promote a love of writing and reading was proudly on display on Saturday (October 12) when the winners of the 2024 Mary Poppins Literary Competition were announced.

Some 26 young creatives from 10 schools on the Fraser Coast, as well as several home-schooled students, received prizes totalling $2000 making it Australia’s richest writing competition for young people. Organised by Mary Inc. with support from the Fraser Coast Regional Council, the competition kicked off in 1999 to honour Pamela L. Travers, the creator of Mary

Poppins.

About 50 people attended an informal award ceremony at Gatakers Art Space to celebrate the achievements of the young writers.

“Celebration” was the theme this year as it marks the 90th anniversary of when Mary Poppins came to life, the 125th anniversary of the birth of Pamela Travers, in what is now Maryborough’s Story Bank, and the 25th anniversary of this writing competition.

The Cherry Tree Foundation in London (P L Traver’s Trust) is the major sponsor of the competition. A number of highly commended certificates were issued this year due to the high number

and quality of entries.

Principal of Central State School, Rebecca Dickens, guest speaker at the awards ceremony, said that writing could be seen as one of the most important inventions in humanity.

“It has allowed us to record ideas, history and discoveries across centuries around the world,” she said.

Reflecting on the future she told the young writers that “imagination is your gift” and that being a lifelong learner by making mistakes and learning from them, will make you, in the words of Mary Poppins and P.L Travers, “practically perfect in every way”.

of Hervey Bay’s new multipurpose basketball facility officially kicked off with the first sod turned at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct.

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the concrete slab was being poured next week, with construction of the facility expected to be completed by June 2025.

“Stage 1 of the new $2.8 million facility will feature two indoor courts and associated facilities within the newly named Bendigo Bank Stadium,” he said.

“Hervey Bay Basketball is one of the fastest-growing sporting associations on the Fraser Coast with 650 players registered this year.

“This facility is a muchneeded investment that addresses both the current and future growth of basketball in the region.

“Council signed off on a 20year lease agreement with the Basketball Association earlier this year, securing a dedicated home for the sport at the precinct for decades to come.

“This is a much-needed sports facility, catering to a wide range of sports and events, making it an ideal hub for the Hervey Bay Basketball

Association.

“Participation in sport is a vitally important part of a healthy community. Our sporting clubs do a wonderful job in getting people involved and active and we need to make sure we have good facilities.

Hervey Bay Basketball Association President Matthew Baker said the club has had exponential growth over the last few years and after many years of advocating for a home of our own we are very excited for the commencement of this project.

Council for their investment in the future of the Fraser Coast. This project will be the largest indoor multipurpose sports facility on the Fraser Coast and a huge asset to our community.”

Cr Seymour said the community will also be able to hire the basketball facility for practice and games when not in use by the Basketball Association.

“The new multipurpose facility was a key element in the Fraser Coast Sport and Recreation Precinct Master Plan, and it’s part of Council’s broader commitment to fostering a healthy, active and vibrant community,” he said.

YOUR VOICE

DARREN Hauser loves starting his day with an ocean swim, even on his 63rd birthday, which happened to be the day of our interview.

Born in Glenelg, South Australia, Darren is the eldest of three. At age 12, his family relocated from Adelaide to the Sunshine Coast, where his parents set up an accountancy practice at Alexandra Headlands in 1974 and settled in Maroochydore.

Darren recalls, “We arrived at our little fibro house in Maroochydore during the ‘74 floods, and the removalist truck had driven through the waters. When they opened the truck doors, water poured out. Mum and Dad definitely questioned the move to Queensland at that moment. But despite the rocky start, it all worked out in the end.”

As a kid, Darren struggled with chronic asthma.

He once nearly drowned at an

Adelaide beach, which led his parents to enrol him in the Somerton Surf Lifesaving Club. Despite his asthma, Darren excelled as a beach sprinter, representing South Australia in Nippers and winning two consecutive national titles.

After moving to Maroochydore in 1974, he joined Alexandra Headlands Surf Club, where he continued his success, winning another national championship and finishing second in his fourth year.

After finishing high school at the end of 1978, Darren’s first job was as a surveyor’s assistant.

He then became a full-time lifeguard at Alexandra Headlands Beach at the same club as Grant Kenny who was winning National Championships.

Darren also spent a couple of years as a volunteer crewman with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Squad, performing rescue missions.

One memorable rescue involved locating an injured person on the Glass House Mountains, where they had to hike up with stretchers.

Another more sombre experience was retrieving the body of a 25-yearold tourist who drowned near Noosa Beach.

That moment hit hard, as Darren was roughly the same age at the time, highlighting the stark reality of lifesaving.

Next, Darren studied Community Recreation in Brisbane. Then was an Activities Officer on Lindeman Island. Darren later worked for the Queensland Recreation Council in Townsville.

In the late 80s, he transferred to Maryborough with the Department of Sport and Recreation.

There, he met his future wife Vicki, who was a teacher.

The pair shared interests and socialised in Maryborough. They

were married in 1991.

That same year, they joined the Hervey Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, which at the time was just an empty plot of land. Darren and a group of former lifesavers and locals formed a committee, launched a community campaign, and with strong local support, successfully had the clubhouse built.

Sadly, Darren’s mum is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, and he is now her primary carer.

His dad passed away from brain cancer years ago and the Leukemia Foundation were there to help the family during that difficult time.

After his father’s passing, Darren and his Hervey Bay surf lifesaver mates organised a Paddle for Leukemia, raising $12,500 by paddling from Rainbow Beach to Hervey Bay, giving back to the foundation that helped his family.

The Hauser name might ring a

“Vicki and I have travelled to places we never imagined visiting—Mexico, Canada, the U.S., the Netherlands, Italy, and France—thanks to Matt’s sporting career. The hard work, dedication, and support from coaches and sponsors have all played a part in his success, and we couldn’t be prouder”.

They are equally proud of their daughter, Amy, a university graduate with a Masters in Acting and Performing.

Amy works with the Australian Acting Academy, where she teaches theatre and acting to primary and high school students.

She also works as an usher at Brisbane’s Powerhouse and loves what she does.

bell—Darren and his wife Vicki are the proud parents of Commonwealth Games gold Medallist and Olympian Matthew Hauser.

Loan settlement story-time!

Nathan trusted his Finance Broker and has used him for many years, after his separation he was eager to get back into the property market.

However, weeks passed without progress, leaving him frustrated and anxious. Feeling defeated, he turned to us, sharing his predicament. Nathan’s unique situation as a self employed borrower meant that we had to find a lender who was happy to accept his

specific type of income and the documents he had available for verification.

Being self employed means you don’t always fit one size. With determination, we reviewed his situation, offering reassurance and a clear plan forward.

Why talking to an expert counts.

Nathan’s loan was submitted to the bank and approved within 48 hours, allowing him to secure his next home and move forward in his life journey.

5 Star Google review from Self employed client Nathan: “Jen has been a pleasure to deal with. She has found me nance solutions with ease, where my previous broker of 10+ years couldn’t help.I can’t recommend her highly enough, and I won’t be going anywhere else for nance ever again.”

If you don’t have the time or the expertise to get a handle on all the different home loans on offer, it pays to talk to someone who does.

Spotlight! Lending policy of the fortnight

Lending policy refers to the set of guidelines, rules, and criteria that a financial institution or lender follows when determining whether to approve a loan to a borrower.

We’ve built relationships with more than 60 of the country’s most respected lenders. We talk to each one, daily, to find out their latest rates and special offers. And because we apply for hundreds of loans every week on behalf of our customers, we know who is approving quickly and the information they’re looking for. It means you don’t just get to choose from a huge range of rates and products. You also get a head start on other buyers in the market.

Today’s policy: Company Director’s Salary.

Are you self employed and pay yourself a consistent wage? Well you’re in luck! Using payslips to confirm the wage you pay yourself on an ongoing basis, the banks may be able to assess you as a PAYG employee of your own business. This could mean an increase in your borrowing power. Lending criteria and eligiblity apply - ask us how.

Over 60 lenders you know and trust, in one place.

Our relationships with all of the brands you see here gives you confidence that we can find the right lender for your unique situation.

There are many pros to being your own boss. But when it comes to applying for a loan, there are a few things you should know.

Not all lenders are equal.
