Round Top Lodge presents matching funds to VFD ROUND TOP - Round Top Lodge No. 151 celebrated Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Flag Dag all at the June meeting because the May meeting was cancelled due to bad weather. The Country Store the lodge sponsored at the Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department Feast brought in earnings of more than $500 so with the Matching Funds from the Grand Lodge the lodge was able to present a check to the fire department for more than $1,000. Thanks go to all who brought items and plants for sale, those who worked and those who purchased these items. A note was received from Hospice Brazos Valley thanking the lodge for the donation sent in memory of Edith Pfeiffer. The family also sent a thank you note. A donation was sent to the Herman Sons Youth Camp in memory of Ira Mae Hinze who passed away May 15.

The lodge also mourns the passing of Rodger Matthijetz who died June 26 at the age of 70. He had been a member since Sept. 28, 1972. A monetary gift will be sent to Gerry Banik who is still in rehab following a motorcycle accident. The youth in attendance presented reports about their first month of summer vacation. Sophie Rauch had a snake put around her neck

Hondo Victory honors winning graduates
Fort Worth meets Sept. 11
HONDO – Hondo Victory Lodge No. 161 hosted an evening meal to honor the recipients of its 2016 Graduate Cash Drawing at the Hermann Sons Hall in Hondo on June 14. It was an evening of fellowship and fun. The cash drawing prize recipients were Melinda Nicole Salmon, Monica Vega and Stephanie Zinsmeyer. Melinda Nicole Salmon introduced her parents, Marysa and Marcos Salmon, and Monica Vega introduced her mother, Cathy Tschirhart Vega. Melinda and Monica shared their future plans. Verlie Nietenhoefer presented each with a check for $200. Stephanie Zinsmeyer was unable to attend due to a prior commitment. Members voted to donate $175 to the local National
FORT WORTH – Summer is here. Hope everyone is staying out of the heat. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July with lots of fireworks, family fun and, of course, lots of good food. Hermann Sons Youth Camp is under way. If your child is a member of Fort Worth Lodge No. 33, email stories and pictures to sandraj1966@yahoo.com and she will include them in her next report. Members are reminded the lodge has a goal of five new members in 2016. So, put on your thinking caps and recommend a new member to Sandra Jones or contact the Grand Lodge Marketing Department. If you recommend a member and they are accepted, you might win a $100 gift card. So you will benefit and Hermann Sons will gain a new member.

The donation will provide educational materials on fire prevention and safety for 75 children in third through fifth grade. The lodge’s next meeting is set for Sept. 11 at Westcreek Lanes at 3 p.m. Mark your calendars and plan to attend. Sympathy is extended to the families of Jimmie Lynn, who joined the lodge in 1979, and Ethel McVey, who joined the lodge in 1977. Congratulations go to Teresa Beavers on reaching her 50-year milestone on July 4. Congratulations go to Red and Nancy Kelly who celebrated 33 years of marriage on July 9.
