Rotary Speech Contest Puts Community Miles Farm Annexation Garden Plots Focus on Local Youth Back on Agenda Danville Parks & Rec The annexation of the Miles farm by D.R. Horton will return to the agenda for the Danville Town Council meeting on April 7, 2021. The following notice was received from the Town: “Upon the advice of Legal Counsel, the Danville Town Council will take under consideration the following ordinances at their regularly scheduled meeting on 4/7/21, in addition to any other scheduled business on the agenda: Ordinance 4-2021: Petition for Annexation – Property located at 1322 W. US 36; 1360 W. Main Street; 155 N. CR 200 W. A request for annexation of the Miles Property by D.R. Horton. Ordinance 6-2021: Request for Rezoning – Property located at 1322 W. US 36; 1360 W. Main Street; 155 N. CR 200 W. A request for rezoning from RB (Municipal equivalent is R2) to PUD (Municipal) by D.R. Horton for the Miles Property.

Golf Cart Inspections
The Town of Danville requires all golf carts operating on Town streets to undergo, and pass, an annual inspection. The cost of an inspection shall be $25 per year, per golf cart. Inspections will be completed by the Danville Police Department or the Town of Danville Code Enforcement Officer, and payments shall be made to the Town of Danville. A decal reflecting a valid and successful golf cart inspection will be issued by the Town and must be visibly affixed to the golf cart. Scooter Needs a Name
Havala Oliver’s speech to the Danville Rotary was recorded for submission to the District Contest.
Those attending the March 25 meeting of the Danville Rotary Club had the opportunity to hear from three local high school students participating in the Rotary’s annual Speech Contest. The persuasive speeches, 7-10 minutes in length, could be on any topic, but had to be delivered from memory, without props. There were three entrants. Two speeches were presented at the meeing; a third was submitted via video. The livve speeches were recorded for submission to the Rotary District Speech Contest. First place went to Havala Oliver, who talked about “life without limits.” Emily Brewer took second place with her video contribution on creating a better connectin between Rotary and the members of Interact clubs for young people ages 12-18, sponsored by Rotary. Third place went to Macie Barker, who described the dangers of “senioritis” on teens’ mental health. ______________________________________________
