I remember on the first day of the RYA Sailing coach class, the trainer asked a seemingly simple question. What are the traits needed to be a coach?

After being a coach for some time, these theories are exactly that…theories, and they were left behind a long time ago. It was not until I went to Sailability to teach as a coach many years ago that I was suddenly awakened to what the real meaning of a trainer is.
