¡Y menuda quincena del mes de mayo llevamos! El importante y destacado incremento en el volumen y celeridad de cuota de vacunación que en las últimas semanas tan buenas noticias está regalando a la población parece precipitar, más que nunca esa posible prematura de la temporada veraniega y de playas. De terrazas, chiringuitos, sombrilla y esos primeros mayos. Sin duda, durante las últimas semanas hemos vivido las jornadas más intensas y con más altas temperaturas de todo lo que llevamos de 2021. Como si todo estuviese ya dispuesto y preparado para encarar una temporada estival por todo lo alto en Sotogrande, con todos los atractivos en marcha y con toda la maquinaria a pleno rendimiento. Estos días se vive FITUR 2021, una edición un tanto particular, a causa de la pandemia y que obliga a realizar gran parte de la promoción del destino desde casa, vía telemática. Si el resultado es similar o superior al del pasado año (todos indicadores caminan hacia ese sentido), la dicha será buena y dará igual el sistema o método. La conclusión es que todo parece que camina por el sentido oportuno para plantear una campaña este verano en al urbanización a la altura de las expectativas del tejido empresarial local. El polo dispone de una buena oferta, el golf a nivel comercial también, la vela no para de sumar y la gastronomía, servicios y hoteles van creciendo como nunca antes desde hace lustros en la zona. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? No mermar detalles importantes (la concesión de banderas azules), bajar los niveles de un servicio de calidad, no pasarse con los precios y presentar una oferta integral de altura para dejar la mejor impronta en los ilustres visitantes y turistas que este año se acerquen a Sotogrande. Ponemos la vista en junio, obvio, pero mayo dejó las primeras pinceladas.

What more could we ask for? Not to diminish important details (the awarding of blue flags), not to lower the levels of a quality service, not to overdo it with prices and present a quality comprehensive offer to leave the best impression on the illustrious visitors and tourists who come to Sotogrande this year. We are obviously looking ahead to June, but May offered the first brushstrokes.

La realidad es que no será lo mismo como tampoco es igual nuestra realidad, rutina, hábitos y relaciones sociales desde la pasada primavera. El proceder, el interactuar e incluso los protocolos a la hora del desempeño laboral y profesional en la inmensa mayoría de los sectores ha evolucionado, modificado o alterado parcialmente, al menos, a raíz de esta condenada pandemia que poco a poco parece quedarse atrás (el ritmo de vacunación, gracias al incremento de existencias, mejora considerablemente por día). La realidad es que más de 25 años después no pisaré la moqueta de FITUR en esta edición. Ni yo, ni muchos de los habituales y fieles abonados a esta feria internacional de turismo en la que cada año tratamos de dar luz y taquígrafo a los grandes valores tangibles e intangibles que guarda nuestro privilegiado rincón del mapa. Casi por primera vez, las cabeceras de Grupo HCP (así lo estima el protocolo establecido anti-covid para este FITUR 2021), no tendrán reparto en los pasillos de IFEMA y no tendremos coberturas, imágenes y entrevistas a pie de campo en Madrid. Tranquilos, no nos quedaremos atrás, ni en MUTE. El mundo digital y telemático permitirá interconectar a los agentes turísticos, autoridades municipales y medios de comunicación en una brutal apuesta por una feria online y sin necesidad de presencia física. Se lo contaremos, como siempre. Porque San Roque, porque Sotogrande, tiene muchísimo que contar un año más en FITUR. Tenemos que contar el Andalucía Masters que otro otoño más prepara el Real Club Valderrama, tenemos que hablar de polo, de vela, de golf no profesional, de desarrollo urbanístico, de naturaleza, de paisajes, de playas y por supuesto, del gran salto cualitativo y cuantitativo que el sector hotelero vive en nuestra zona. La impresionante apuesta de So/ Sotogrande y de Millennium en Alcaidesa colocan en primera línea, a nivel de calidad, este destino con una oferta de altura como nunca antes había visto respecto a hoteles. Todo eso hay que contarlo, lo contaremos, tranquilos. Porque en Grupo HCP nos dedicamos desde hace más de 23 años a comunicar e informar de todo cuanto ocurre en Sotogrande y su área de influencia. Incluso vamos un paso más allá y somos generadores de eventos y actividad desde hace más de 20 años con el Abierto de Golf El Periódico de Sotogrande y desde 2013 con el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. The reality is that it won´t be the same just as our reality, routine, habits and social relations have not been since last spring. The proceedings, interactions and even the protocols in terms of job and professional performance in the vast majority of sectors has evolved, changed or at least partially been altered, as a result of the doomed pandemic that gradually seems to becoming a thing of the past (the vaccination rate, thanks to the increase of stocks, is improving considerably day by day). The reality is that after more than 25 years I won´t be on setting foot at this edition of FITUR. Neither me, nor many of the regular and faithful subscribers of this international tourism fair where each year we try to shed light and provide coverage of the major tangible and intangible assets found in our outstanding area of the map. Almost for the first time, the publications of Grupo HCP (as considered by the anti-Covid protocol established for this FITUR 2021), will not be distributed in the aisles of IFEMA and we won´t have coverage, images and on site interviews in Madrid. Don´t worry, we won´t be left behind, or be left on MUTE. The digital and electronic world will make it possible to interconnect tourist agents, municipal authorities and the media in a fantastic commitment to an online fair and without the need for a physical presence. As always, we will tell you all about it. Because San Roque, because Sotogrande, has a so much to talk about once again this year at FITUR. We need to talk about the Andalucía Masters which Real Club Valderrama is preparing for another autumn, we need to talk about polo, sailing non-professional gulf, urban planning, nature, landscapes, beaches and of course, the major qualitative and quantitative leap that the hotel sector is experiencing in our area. San Roque: un destino para todo el año • El municipio sanroqueño elige Fitur 2021, un escenario de excepción, para estrenar una nueva temporada y dar la bienvenida a turistas y visitantes en un verano que se antoja apasionante en la zona. • Bajo el lema “Bienvenidos”, la Delegación de Turismo pone en marcha un vídeo promocional para resaltar todos los valores y atractivos del municipio. Arranca la temporada, llega el momento más esperado del año, ya que el verano se vive en San Roque de una manera única. Aunque lo que convierte precisamente en especial a San Roque, por encima del resto de enclaves similares, es que un destino para todo el año. Con más de 300 días de sol y con uno de los enclaves más selectos del sur de Europa como es Sotogrande, con sus playas, sus campos de golf, su puerto deportivo, sus clubes de polo y una urbanización exclusiva y conocida en el mundo entero. Por, ello precisamente, San Roque ha escogido la celebración de Fitur 2021 para lanzar un “Bienvenidos” a todos aquellos visitantes que deseen disfrutar de su espectacular oferta turística t ras más de un año de pandemia, las buenas perspectivas que genera la campaña de vacunación hacen albergar la esperanza de que el turismo nacional e internacional se relance en los próximos meses. Como la celebración de la feria turística madrileña se tiene que adaptar a las circunstancias sanitarias, a la información que se ha llevado a Fitur 2021 desde San Roque se accederá de manera digital mediante código QR. El propio alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, reforzará esta promoción turística con la presentación de un vídeo titulado “Bienvenidos”, en el que se reflejan los principales puntos fuertes del municipio desde el punto de vista turístico y se anima a los visitantes a disfrutarlos este verano. Eso sí, respetando las medidas sanitarias que estén en vigor. San Roque es un referente turístico internacional gracias a sus magníficos campos de golf, sus aclamadas canchas de polo y su exclusiva zona residencial de Sotogrande, lugar de discreto veraneo de multitud de celebridades europeas y españolas. hípica.San Roque cuenta con nueve campos de golf, de los que tres se han incluido en el ranking de los 50 mejores de Europa, una clasificación que encabeza el Real Club de Golf Valderrama. Peajes Entre las desagradables sorpresas que tenía reservadas el Gobierno, y cuya publicación demoró adrede para no perjudicar aún más a su candidato en las elecciones autonómicas de Madrid, estaba la de imponer peajes en las autovías, e incluso en carreteras estatales y regionales. Ante la reacción indignada de la población, las autoridades acometieron una estrategia que, probablemente, ya tenían preparada. Así, el ministro de Transportes, José Luis Ábalos, acudió al Parlamento y presentó una buena defensa. Sostuvo que este Gobierno había “liberado” muchos kilómetros de autopistas; recordó que el PP también había planeado en tiempos de Mariano Rajoy poner peajes en las autovías; y, lo fundamental: que el proyecto quedaba descartado si no contaba con el apoyo de los demás partidos. De esta manera, el Gobierno pretende disolver el coste político de una medida tan impopular, y chantajear a la oposición con este dilema: si no aprobáis los peajes, las cuentas públicas se desequilibrarán aún más, y vosotros también seréis responsables; y cuando volváis a la Moncloa, tendréis que li-

Tolls diar con esa patata caliente. En pura teoría, los peajes son una forma lógica y justa de financiar las infraestructuras, que ya defendió Adam Smith en La Riqueza de las Naciones en 1776. La trampa, por supuesto, es que ahora en la práctica no se plantean como una alternativa frente a los impuestos que ya pagan los ciudadanos por circular en las vías públicas, sino como un añadido a dichos impuestos. Lo que quieren los gobernantes, por tanto, es forzar a millones de personas a que paguen más, sea por su vehículo privado, sea por el mayor coste del transporte de los bienes que consumen. El problema de fondo, sin duda, es la propensión de los políticos a resolver el déficit público con subidas de impuestos, y no con reducciones del gasto. Todo indica que lo seguirán haciendo, mediante peajes u otros medios, hasta que el castigo de los electores irritados con la presión fiscal los pueda impulsar en el sentido contrario. Mientras eso no suceda, la espada de Damocles de los mayores impuestos seguirá pendiendo sobre nuestras cabezas. Y nuestros bolsillos.

Among the unpleasant surprises the Government had planned, and whose publication it delayed on purpose in order not to further harm its candidate in the regional elections in Madrid, was that of imposing tolls on motorways, and even on state and regional roads. Faced with the indignant reaction of the public, the authorities undertook a strategy that they had probably already prepared. Thus, the Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, came to Parliament and presented a good defence. He asserted that the Government had “freed up” many kilometres of roads; he recalled that during the period of Mariano Rajoy the PP had also planned to install tolls on roads; and, crucially: that the project would be ruled out if it didn´t get the support of the other parties. Thus, the Government aims to disperse the political cost of such an unpopular measure, and blackmail the opposition with this dilemma: if you don´t approve the tolls, public accounts will be even more unbalanced, and you will also be responsible; and when you return

to power in Moncloa, you will have to deal with that hot potato. In mere theory, tolls are a logical and fair way of funding infrastructures, as defended by Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations in 1776. The trap, of course, is that now in practice they are not proposed as an alternative to the taxes that citizens already pay to travel on public roads, but rather as an added extra to those taxes. What those governing thus want, is to force millions of people to pay more, whether for their private vehicle, or through the higher cost of the transport of the goods that they consume. Undoubtedly, the underlying problem is the tendency of politicians to resolve the public deficit by increasing taxes and not with expenditure reductions. Everything indicates they will continue to do so, using tolls or other means, until the punishment of the irritated electors with tax pressures may push them in the opposite direction. As long as that doesn´t happen, the sword of Damocles of higher taxes will continue to hang over our heads. And our pockets.

La playa de Torreguadiaro pierde la distinción de bandera azul La Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor (Adeac) revalidó este año las banderas azules de las playas de Alcaidesa-Faro (Torrecarbonera) y Cala Sardina, así como la distinción como Centro Azul para el Aula de la Naturaleza del Pinar del Rey. Asimismo, Alcaidesa Marina y el Puerto de Sotogrande vuelvne a conseguir su bandera azul, si bien se trata de una instalación de titularidad privada. La playa de Torreguadiaro, mientras, ha perdido su distinción este año por un problema ajeno al Ayuntamiento. En

cualquier caso, desde el Equipo de Gobierno se ha recalcado el compromiso con la calidad en el servicio de playas para todo el municipio, independientemente de si se cuenta o no con distinción de Adeac. Buen ejemplo de ello es que “el equipo de trabajadores que desde enero se encarga de limpiar cada una de las playas, que se verá reforzado con personal contratado por Emadesa para los trabajos de temporada durante todo el periodo de baños”. Además, el pliego de condiciones del servicio de atención sani-

taria, socorrismo y salvamento establece que “el dispositivo tiene que cubrir un total de diez playas, tanto las de la zona de Bahía como las del litoral mediterráneo”. Asimismo, está previsto repetir con las cámaras web, la megafonía y la información sobre el estado de playas a través de Internet y dispositivos móviles, que tanto éxito tuvo el año pasado ante las limitaciones de aforo derivadas de la pandemia. También se está trabajando en la adecuación de los equipamientos de playas, como módulos de salvamento y duchas, y

se han previsto varias novedades en este aspecto. En cuanto a la pérdida de la bandera azul de Torreguadiaro, desde Adeac se ha señalado “un problema de saneamiento en una zona de dicha playa, derivado de una instalación que no depende del Ayuntamiento y para la que se ha solicitado en reiteradas ocasiones su arreglo”. El objetivo del Equipo de Gobierno es “conseguir su pronta reparación para recuperar la distinción lo antes posible”. Las banderas azules se conceden

no sólo por la calidad de las aguas y por la limpieza de la arena de las playas, sino también por contar con servicios de socorrismo, salvamento y atención sanitaria y, también, por disponer de suficientes módulos de servicios y mobiliario como duchas, papeleras y pasarelas. Hay que recordar que, además de las enseñas que se han concedido a San Roque, Adeac tan sólo ha distinguido con bandera azul en el Campo de Gibraltar a otra playa y a un puerto deportivo, situados en sendos municipios.

With regard to the loss of the blue flag in Torreguadiaro, Adeac has pointed out a “problem with sanitation on an area of the beach, resulting from a facility that is not the responsibility of the Council and whose fixing has been requested on several occasions”. The aim of the Government Team is “to have it repaired soon in order to regain the distinction as soon as possible”. Blue flags are not only awarded for the quality of water and the cleanliness of the sand of the beaches, but also for having lifeguard, lifesaving and medical assistance, and also for having enough units for services and furniture such as showers, bins and walkways. It is worth remembering that, in addition to the distinctions awarded to San Roque, in Campo de Gibraltar Adeac has only awarded a blue flag to another beach and a marina, located in separate municipalities.

Las playas de Sotogrande, a punto antes del inicio de la temporada Operarios municipales adscritos a la Delegación de Limpieza están llevando a cabo la limpieza de las playas del municipio. El objetivo es que estén en condiciones óptimas durante estas fechas en la que los ciudadanos comienzan a utilizarlas con la llegada del buen tiempo. Fundamentalmente, los ciudadanos utilizan en esta época del año las playas para los paseos y la práctica de deportes individuales, aunque ya se inician los baños. Recordó el edil, que se trabaja durante todo el año en la playa, para su mantenimiento los 365 días. El teniente de alcalde delegado de Limpieza Viaria, Juan Serván, ha indicado que “nuestros trabajadores se están empleando a fondo en las playas, inicialmente las urbanas de Torreguadiaro, Sotogrande, Campamento, Puente Mayorga y Guadarranque, aunque posteriormente se continuará con todas las del municipio”. Esta limpieza extraordinaria está siendo realizada por personal de Limpieza Viaria, incluyendo a los trabajadores contratados

de manera temporal por los planes de empleo de Emadesa y Amanecer. “Con la previsión de buen tiempo para los próximos días -añadió-, esperamos que nuestras playas tengan mucho espacio para pasear e incluso para correr por la arena, ya que proporcionan espacio suficiente para mantener las distancias de seguridad. Por eso nuestro personal está llevando a cabo esta labor de limpieza en estas jornadas previas, y quiero agradecer a todos los operarios su compromiso y buen hacer”, concluyó Serván.

La Junta rebaja el Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales al 7%

M. G. El Consejo de Gobierno de la Junta de Andalucía anunció “una segunda bajada masiva” de impuestos, en palabras del consejero de la Presidencia, Elías Bendodo, que tendrá como beneficiarios a más de 4 millones de andaluces y supondrá para éstos un ahorro de 329 millones de euros. La bajada se ejecutará por medio de una Proposición de Ley que elaborarán los grupos parlamentarios, mientras que el Consejo de Gobierno adelantó, a través de un decreto-ley, la reforma del Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales y Actos Jurídicos Documentados para que repercuta en la compraventa de viviendas. En este tributo, según explicó el vicepresidente Jua Marín, se pasa a un tipo único del 7% cuando hasta ahora era del 8, 9 y 10%. Según detalló Bendodo, esta rebaja concreta dejará en “el bolsillo de los andaluces 223 millones” y, según ha precisado Marín, entrará en vigor en cuanto el decreto ley sea pu-

blicado en el Boletón Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA). DECRETO LEY SOBRE ITP Respecto al decreto ley que rebaja el tipo general del Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales y Actos Jurídicos Documentados (Itpajd), con-

siste en la reducción del tipo de gravamen general aplicable a la transmisión de inmuebles (Transmisiones Patrimoniales Onerosas) y a la constitución y cesión de derechos reales sobre los mismos, excepto los de garantía, pasando de los tipos actuales del 8%, 9% y 10% a un único tipo general del 7%. De igual

modo, se reduce el tipo de gravamen general para los documentos notariales (Actos Jurídicos Documentados) del 1,5% al 1,2%. Así, en el supuesto de una transmisión de un inmueble valorado en 180.000 euros entre dos particulares, con la normativa existente antes de la entrada en vigor de este de-

creto ley, la base imponible se multiplicaba por el tipo del 8% del primer tramo de la tarifa (que aplica hasta 400.000 euros), con el resultado de una cuota tributaria de 14.400 euros. A partir de la publicación del decreto ley, la cuota tributaria resultante es de 12.600 euros tras aplicar un tipo general del 7%. El ahorro que se produce es, por tanto, de 1.800 euros. La medida, que tendrá vigencia desde el día siguiente a su publicación en BOJA hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2021, persigue un doble objetivo. De un lado, impulsar la reactivación del sector inmobiliario, a través de un abaratamiento de la tributación vinculada a la adquisición de viviendas de segunda mano; de otro, incentivar la oferta de obra nueva a precios más asequibles, mediante la reducción de los costes fiscales gravados por la modalidad de AJD.

Regional Government reduces Property Transfer Tax to 7% The Governing Council of the Regional Government of Andalusia announced “a second massive cut” to taxes, according to the counsellor of the Presidency, Elías Bendodo, whose beneficiaries will be more than 4 million Andalusians and it will result in a saving of 329 million Euros for them. The cut will be implemented through a Draft Law that will be produced by the parliamentary groups, while the Government Council announced, through a decree-law, the re-

form of the Property Transfer Tax and Stamp Duty in order for it to impact on the sale of properties. This tax, according to the vice-president Jua Marín, is moving to a flat rate of 7% when until now it was 8, 9 and 10%. According to Bendodo, this specific cut will leave “223 million in the pockets of Andalusians” and, as Marín specified, it will come into force when the decree-law is published in the Official Bulletin of the Regional Government of Andalusia (BOJA).

DECREE-LAW ON PROPERTY TRANSFER TAX (ITP) With regard to the decree law lowering the general rate of Property Transfer Tax and Stamp Duty (Itpajd), it consists of the reduction of the general tax rate applicable to the transfer of property (taxable asset transfer) and the constitution and assignment of real rights to it, except those of the guarantee, going from the current rates of 8%, 9% and 10% to a general flat rate of 7%. Likewise, the general tax rate

has been reduced for notary documents (Stamp Duty) from 1.5% to 1.2%. Thus, in the case of the transfer of a property valued at 180,000 Euros between two individuals, with the current legislation before the entry into force of this decree law, the taxable base was multiplied by the rate of 8%, of the first tranche of the rate (which applies up to 400,000 Euros), with the result of a tax rate of 14,400 Euros. Based on the publication of the decree-law, the resulting tax amount is 12,600

Euros after applying a general rate of 7%. The saving is therefore 1,800 Euros. The measure, which will take effect from the day following its publication in the BOJA until 31 December 2021, has a dual aim. On one hand, encourage the revival of the property sector, through a reduction of the tax linked to the purchase of second-hand properties; on the other, encourage the offer of new builds at more affordable prices, through the reduction of the fiscal costs incurred through stamp duty.

• El golf y el deporte español se pusieron de luto el 7 de mayo de 2011 tras el fallecimiento de Severiano Ballesteros • Seve contaba con una gran vinculación con Sotogrande y fue uno de los granes artífices de la inolvidable Ryder Cup en Valderrama (1997), en la que fue capitán.

Una década sin Seve No por esperada, ya que padecía una terrible enfermedad, dejó de impactar. El mundo del golf en su conjunto y el deporte en general, tanto dentro como fuera de nuestras fronteras, lloró con sentida emoción el fallecimiento de Severiano Ballesteros, hace ahora diez años, justo cuando se disputaba en el RCG El Prat un

Open de España que tanto había conseguido engrandecer. El golfista español más destacado de todos los tiempos nos dejó en la madrugada del 7 de mayo de 2011 a la edad de 54 años, en su casa de Pedreña, acompañado de su familia, como consecuencia de la enfermedad que le aquejaba desde que le fuera detectado

un tumor cerebral en agosto de 2008 tras sufrir un desvanecimiento en el aeropuerto de Barajas. Operado hasta en cuatro ocasiones antes de comenzar un tratamiento de quimioterapia, Severiano Ballesteros constituyó desde entonces un ejemplo de lucha y superación ante la adversidad. Con un palmarés brillantísimo en su currículo deportivo, adornado con todos aquellos títulos que todo golfista ansía, tres Open Británicos (1979, 1984 y 1988), dos Masters de Augusta (1980 y 1983) y tres Ryder Cup (1985, 1987 y 1995), además de una de ellas, inolvidable en Valderrama 1997, como capitán, Severiano Ballesteros forjó una leyenda que extralimitó los límite del golf para convertirse en uno de los grandes iconos del deporte español, europeo y mundial.

Severiano Ballesteros participó en un torneo de golf por última vez en España en el Open de España 2005. Posteriormente intentó dar el salto al Circuito Senior Americano, pero abandonó en la primera prueba y nunca más volvió a jugar. La última ocasión en la que se

pudo ver a Severiano Ballesteros fue el 11 de abril de 2011 durante la celebración de un torneo benéfico organizado por su Fundación en la que el cántabro apareció en un vídeo para agradecer su esfuerzo en la lucha contra el cáncer y la investigación en los tumores cerebrales.

A decade without Seve • Golf and Spanish sport went into mourning on 7 May 2011 after the passing of Severiano Ballesteros • Seve had a great bond with Sotogrande and was one of the great people behind the unforgettable Ryder Cup an Valderrama (1997), where he was captain. Despite being expected, as he suffered from a terrible illness, it still made a huge impact. The world of golf as a whole and sport in general, both inside and outside of our borders, mourned the passing of Severiano Ballesteros with heartfelt emotion, ten years ago, just as a Spanish Open that he had done so much to enhance was taking place at RCG El Prat. The most outstanding Spanish golfer of all time left us in

the early morning of 7 May 2011, at the age of 54, in his home in Pedreña, accompanied by his family, as a consequence of the illness he had suffered from since he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2008 after fainting at Barajas Airport. He was operated on four times before beginning chemotherapy treatment, from then on Severiano Ballesteros was an example of battling and over-

coming adversity. With an extremely brilliant trophy cabinet during his sporting career, adorned with all the titles that any golfer yearns for, three British Opens (1979, 1984 and 1988), two Augusta Masters (1980 and 1983) and three Ryder Cups (1985, 1987 and 1995), as well as one of them, unforgettable, at Valderrama 1997, as captain, Severiano Ballesteros created a myth that went beyond the boundaries of

golf, to make him one of the great icons of Spanish, European and global sport. Severiano Ballesteros participated in a golf tournament for the last time in Spain at the 2005 Spanish Open. Subsequently, he tried to take the step up to the American Senior Circuit, but he left it at the first event and never played again.

The last time that Severiano Ballesteros made a public appearance was on 11 April 2011 during the celebration of a charity tournament organised by his Foundation where the Cantabrian appeared in a video to give thanks for the effort in the battle against cancer and research into brain tumours.

El precio de la vivienda en Andalucía sube un 2,19% frente al año pasado

• La vivienda en Andalucía en abril de 2021 tuvo un precio medio de 1.623 euros por metro cuadrado, subiendo un 0,97% respecto al mes de marzo. • El precio de la vivienda sube en España un 0,71% frente al año pasado. La vivienda de segunda mano en Andalucía en abril de 2021 tuvo un ascenso en el precio medio del 0,97% frente al pasado mes de marzo, el tercero más marcado del país. Interanualmente, se produjo una subida del 2,19%. Andalucía fue la sexta autonomía más cara de España, por detrás de Baleares (3.065 / m²), entre otras. En cuanto a la vivienda de segunda mano en España, en abril de 2021 registró un precio medio ascendente mensual del 0,65%. Se hace necesario entender cómo las emociones en general, el miedo y la ansiedad en particular nos están influyendo para poder adaptarnos mejor a la nueva realidad. Si hay una generalización que se pueda aplicar a todo ser humano es: “Todos venimos al mundo para ser felices y buscar el bienestar personal”

Y es, precisamente, nuestra relación con el cambio lo que nos mantiene alejados del bienestar, haciendo del camino a la felicidad una carrera de obstáculos que pone nuestra propia mente por su resistencia a cambiar. Al mirar atrás, podemos ver cómo fuimos pasando por todas las etapas que implica la Curva del Cambio ante el repentino confinamiento de marzo 2020, de la negación que sentíamos los primeros días a la incredulidad de la situación real que estábamos viviendo, el sentimiento de ira y rabia por no poder salir de casa ni socializar que nos llevó a un agotamiento al haberse difuminado todos los límites de la vida personal, profesional y familiar y, finalmente, a la aceptación de la situación. Aquellos que la aceptaron más rápidamente, pudieron adaptarse con nuevos hábitos y comportamientos. La consecuencia de todo esto ha sido un cambio en los valores y

prioridades personales que han provocado un incremento en los servicios de bienestar personal y en los estilos de vida. And it is precisely our relationship with change that distances us from wellbeing, making the path to happiness an obstacle course created by our mind due to its resistance to change. When we look back, we can see how we passed through all the stages involved in the Change Curve faced with the sudden lockdown in March 2020, the denial that we felt during the first few days towards the disbelief of the real situation we were going through, the feeling of anger and rage at not being able to leave the house or socialise which led to exhaustion as all the boundaries of personal, professional and family life became blurred and, lastly, acceptance of the situation. Those who accepted it more quickly, were able to adapt with new habits and behaviours. The consequence of all this has been a change in the values and personal priorities that have caused an increase in personal wellbeing and lifestyle services. • El Consistorio reclama a la Junta de Andalucía que concierte las 40 plazas de la residencia de mayores de San Enrique de Guadiaro. Más plazas y en cuantías más asumibles para la Residencia La Milagrosa.El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, exigió a la Junta de Andalucía que concierte las 40 plazas de la Residencia de la Fundación La Milagrosa, en San Enrique, para evitar que se convierta en una residencia privada, como viene ocurriendo en los dos últimos años, ya que el coste de la plaza se ha elevado hasta 1.800 euros al mes. El primer edil apuntó que, a pesar de no tener la competencia sobre residencias de mayores, San Roque es de los pocos municipios de entre 20.000 y 50.000 habitantes donde el Ayuntamiento tiene la titularidad de una, la de San Roque Casco, de 50 plazas. Señaló que, sin em-

bargo, no son suficientes para la demanda existente en el municipio, y se cuenta con una lista de espera de más de medio centenar de solicitudes. Recordó que esta fundación nació de la iniciativa y las donaciones de Enrique Zóbel y otros patronos vinculados a la urbanización de Sotogrande, y

que la residencia se construyó en un suelo propiedad del Ayuntamiento en la barriada de San Enrique, donde reciben atención 40 personas mayores. “La crisis -explicó el alcalde- ha hecho que desaparezcan muchos patronos, que algunos no puedan atender sus obligaciones económicas con estos abuelos. En los

últimos años estamos viendo que esta residencia se está privatizando. Antes podían entrar abuelos y abuelas con dificultades económicas, que pagaban una cuantía pequeña en comparación con las exigencias de las residencias privadas. Habitualmente se exigía el 80% de la pensión de la persona usuaria, pero en la actualidad no se valora la pensión, sino que hay que pagar 1.800 euros por mantener al abuelo o abuela en la residencia”. Ruiz Boix añadió que el Ayuntamiento conoce la situación desde hace más de dos años, y desde entonces ha planteado a la Junta de Andalucía la necesidad de que concertara las plazas de la residencia de San Enrique, ya que

ésta cuenta con unas instalaciones “diseñadas de acuerdo a las exigencias de la Junta”. De esta forma, la Comunidad Autónoma cofinanciaría el coste de las plazas y podría albergar a personas mayores con recursos económicos modestos. Sin embargo, apuntó, “la respuesta de la Junta ha sido nula”. Esta residencia, lamentó el primer edil, “no cuenta con apoyo autonómico”, lo que en su opinión supone “una discriminación clara a personas con menos recursos, y se está potenciando su uso para personas de alto poder adquisitivo, lo que no era la idea ni del Ayuntamiento ni de los patronos y Enrique Zóbel, sino más bien todo lo contrario”, concluyó.

LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

Las neuronas. Aspectos generales En la actualidad, los resultados de las investigaciones que neurocientíficos están llevando a cabo,se hallan en constante evolución. Uno de los grandes campos donde están centrando sus estudios es la plasticidad cerebral , y sus diversas afectaciones. Previo a la profundización y desarrollo de la estimulación cognitiva y los beneficios que ésta conlleva, se hace imprescindible asentar algunos conceptos para su mayor comprensión. Nuestro cuerpo está conformado por miles de millones de células, entre ellas las neuronas. Indiscutibles protagonistas de todo nuestro sistema nervioso tienen una función muy especializada, la transmisión de la información. De esta forma la información que se recibe del exterior se procesa y genera respuestas coherentes a la situación, tanto en procesos cognitivos, como fisiológicos y motores. En la estructura neuronal, de forma muy básica, se distinguen tres partes principales el soma o cuerpo celular donde se producen las proteínas necesarias para el correcto funcionamiento; las dendritas, prolongaciones que parten del cuerpo celular y recogen información; y el axón, recubierto por una capa protectora de mielina. A esta conexión entre neuronas se le denomina sinapsis, la cual se produce a través de impulsos eléctricos y químicos, liberando unas sustancias

llamadas neurotransmisores. Según recientes aportes científicos, conforme se avanza en edad hay una cierta tendencia a la fragilidad neuronal. La velocidad de procesamiento de la información se vuelve más lenta; se inhiben algunos procesos que repercuten en la atención, y otros procesos se ven más afectados como la ejecución y la memoria de trabajo. Sin embargo, y como contrapartida, el cerebro del ‘mayor’ busca compensar de forma eficiente estos “obstáculos”. Igualmente se ha venido observando que aunque hay un determinado factor genético, el ejercicio físico, la alimentación y el entrenamiento consciente de los procesos cognitivos, promueven que nuestro envejecimiento esté más libre de patologías y seamos menos dependientes en edades avanzadas. La zona donde residimos y en general Andalucía, promueve la calidad de vida aunque este es un factor complejo en el cual además interviene los condicionamientos y la percepción del individuo entre otros muchos factores. Por último, no por ello menos importante, señalar que hasta muy recientemente los aspectos emocionales, y que en ocasiones, quedaban fuera del espectro “cognitivo”, tienen un peso fundamental para el desarrollo del aprendizaje y por ello, será objeto de un próximo artículo.

Before delving in deeper and developing cognitive stimulation and the benefits it entails, it is essential to consolidate some concepts for greater understanding. Our body is formed by billions of cells, including neurons. The undisputed stars of entire nervous system, they have a very specialised role, the transmission of information. Thus, the information that is received from the outside is processed and generates coherent responses to the situation, in both cognitive processes, and physiological and motor processes. In the neuronal structure, on a very basic level, three main parts can be distinguished; the soma or cell body which produces the proteins needed for correct functioning; dendrites, projections that come out from the cell body and collect information; and the axon, covered by a protective layer of myelin. This connection between neurons is known as synapse, it takes place through electric and chemical impulses, releasing substances called neurotransmitters.

According to recent scientific contributions, as we get older there is a certain tendency towards neuronal fragility. The speed that information is processed gets slower; some processes that have an impact on attention are inhibited, and other processes are more affected such as execution and working memory. However, countering this, the brain of the elderly person seeks to efficiently compensate for these “obstacles”. Likewise, it has been observed that although there is a specific genetic factor, physical exercise, diet and conscious training of cognitive processes, help to encourage our ageing to be freer from pathologies and to make us less dependent in old age. The area where we live and Andalusia in general, promotes quality of life although this is a complex factor that also involves conditioning factors and the perception of the individual, among many other factors. The residents of San Enrique celebrated the festivity of Our Lady of Fatima with a mass in the parish church of the neighbourhood, as the traditional pilgrimage had to be suspended for the second consecutive year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the fact that the festivity of Our Lady of Fatima officially took place last Thursday, 13 May, the events in honour of the patron saint of San Enrique traditionally take place on the Sunday closest to it. The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Fatima is responsible each year for organising the pilgrimage, which begins in the parish of San Enrique and ends in a wooded area next to the Guadiaro river. This space is going to be improved soon by the Council of San Roque as a new recreational area, which will be fitted out with tables and barbecues, and the environment will also be adapted.

Although everyone, regardless of the place they live in, can identify with the role of neighbour and value peaceful and harmonious coexistence, the truth is that community conflicts end up in Court more often than one would wish. Therefore, and in order to offer an alternative tool to the legal path, the mediation office “Co-Mediacion” offers a neighbour mediation service not only to individuals but also through different Property Administrators that operate in Sotogrande and its surrounding area. Many community conflicts that we currently encounter derive from disagreements relating to decisions that must be taken in relation to services that are part of the Special Marina Regime (REM), and there are also several problems that arise in communities of residents: - Conflicts relating to noise: electrical appliances, garden machinery, music or televisions at a loud volume at unsuitable times, can cause major conflicts that are resolved positively through mediated negotiation. - Co-habitation rules: with the arrival of good weather, it is to be expected that gatherings, especially in outdoor spaces, will not be easy to control and could annoy neighbours. Whether it is a succession of noisy barbecues or ignoring the opening hours of a community pool, there will always be matters that can be dealt with through mediation and not via legal means. - Pets, which make noise or explore too much, should also not be the cause of a dispute beyond mediation. - Problems with local neighbours, which are normally related to noise, bad smells or smoke. - Conflicts about building work that an agreement needs to be reached for can be positively tackled in mediation. - Debts and defaulters, both for ordinary fees, and for extraordinary levies.

Aunque todo el mundo, independientemente del sitio en el que viva, pueda llegar a identificarse con el rol de vecino y valorar una convivencia pacífica y armoniosa, la realidad es que los conflictos comunitarios acaban en los Juzgados en más ocasiones de las deseadas. Ya sea una sucesión de ruidosas barbacoas o el ignorar los horarios de una piscina comunitaria, siempre serán asuntos susceptibles de ser tratados en mediación y no por la vía judicial. - Mascotas, que hacen ruido o exploran demasiado, tampoco han

San Roque recreará el mundo de la magia más famosa del cine el próximo 29 de mayo con la puesta en marcha de la “Jornada Mágica bajo la temática de Harry Potter”, que se desarrollará en el Edificio Casa Varela, en horario de mañana y tarde. Se trata de una actividad totalmente gratuita, organizada por la Delegación de Juventud y Fusión Freak. Con inscripción y aforo reducido ya está completo. San Roque transforms into ‘Diagon Alley’ •

Department of Youth organising a “Magical Day” on 29 May based around Harry Potter at Edificio Varela.

San Roque will recreate the most famous cinematic magical world on 29 May with the launch of the “Harry Potter themed Magical Day”, which will take place at Edificio Casa Varela, in the morning and afternoon. The activity is completely free, and is organised by the Department of Youth and Fusión Freak. With registration and a reduced capacity, it is already full. This activity will take place on 29 May at Edificio Casa Varela, “a new building that we have for the Youth on Camino del Amendral, where there will be lots of activities based around the magical world of Harry Potter”. It will have different workshops such as the creation of ties, magic wands... as well as different replicas of objects from the world of Harry Potter. The “Harry Potter themed Magical Day” will take place at the Huerta Varela Municipal Building on Saturday 29 May, from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 7 pm, and is organised by the Department of Youth and Fusion Freak. On the day it will be possible to visit Lego recreations of some of the most emblematic places from the magical universe of the Harry

Potter books, such as Hogwarts castle, the night bus and many more. There will also be large-format 3D puzzles, the Weasley shop of magical jokes, Diagon Alley and other magical places. Also, visitors can enjoy the different replicas of magical objects such as the crying mandrake, Triwizard Cup, a full size reproduction of the Nimbus 2000, the Sorting Hat. During the day, with all the safety measures, the following activities and workshops will take place: build your own magic wand, create your Golden Snitch, house tie workshop, Harry Potter magical duels (game and demonstration), the Sorting Hat will choose

your house and there will be cutout Harry Potter characters. There will also be Quidditch Pong, Harry Potter bookmarks, your own letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, Harry Potter Trivial and Harry Potter mask workshops. Un detenido por varios delitos de robo con fuerza en el Valle del Guadiaro • El implicado, vecino de la localidad, es conocido por sus amplios antecedentes policiales por hechos similares.

M. G. Agentes de la Guardia Civil, del Puesto Principal de Guadiaro (Cádiz), detuvieron a una persona como presunta autora de tres delitos de robo con fuerza en las cosas y desmanteló una plantación ‘indoor’ que el ahora detenido tenía instalado en el sótano de la vivienda. Los hechos tuvieron lugar, cuando la Central COS de la Comandancia de Algeciras recibe un aviso, en el que supuestamente se está produciendo un posible altercado en una vivienda de la localidad de Guadiaro. Personados en el lugar, los agentes se percataron de un fuerte olor a marihuana que desprendía el sótano de dicha vivienda, así como la instalación de numerosos tubos de ventilación de los habitualmente utilizados para el cultivo dicha sustancia estupefaciente. Tras los hechos acontecidos, la Guardia Civil efectuó un registro más exhaustivo de la citada vivienda, encontrándose efectos cuya procedencia era sospechosa, como una habitación que se disponía para el cultivo de marihuana. Tras gestiones pos-

teriores, se pudo comprobar cómo los objetos recuperados en la referida vivienda se correspondían con varios robos que se habían sucedido durante el pasado mes en varios establecimientos de la localidad de San Enrique de Guadiaro. Los efectos intervenidos arrojan un total de 11 plantas de marihuana de gran tamaño, de gran tamaño más de 200 gramos de cogollos de marihuana y una pis-

tola replica de arma de fuego, así como la recuperación diverso material electrónico (televisores, consolas de videojuegos, material de peluquería y productos de alimentación), todo ello con un valor aproximado del material recuperado de más de 3.500 . El detenido fue puesto a disposición de la Autoridad Judicial en unión de las diligencias instruidas, la droga y los efectos intervenidos.

Barry has spent the last 35 years in Sotogrande and was well known among the bridge and golf players. He was on the committee of Sotogrande Real Golf Club, a member of Valderrama and La Reserva Golf who have been so kind in honoring him with the lowering of their flags to half-mast. A proud Scotsman he was known for his quick and dry sense of humour. He will be fondly missed by his wife Anna, son Ian and family.

Golf: un deporte en el que la edad no importa M. G. / Redacción El golf es uno de los deportes más longevos en su práctica gracias a su normativa y singularidades que permiten jugarlo, incluso a nivel competitivo, a todas las edades e incluso mezclando generaciones en una misma partida. Una de las grandes ventajas que tiene el golf es que puede ser igual de atractivo, a nivel de competición, con veinte, cuarenta o incluso sesenta años. Ya que el golf, tal y como indica en uno de sus recientes estudios el psicólogo de la Real Federación Española de Golf, Óscar del Río, es “cuestión de actitud independientemente de la edad”. Explica que las habilidades y cualidades con las que cuenta un jugador de golf varían de-

pendiendo de los años de práctica, de la experiencia y por supuesto, de la edad. Pero que la primera clave para seguir en activo es mantenerse competitivo, independiente de la edad. Conocer los recursos, los puntos fuertes y débiles en el juego y saber utilizar todo ese conocimiento en el campo para optimizar el rendimiento y dar los menores golpes posibles. Todo este proceso quizás requiera realizar adaptaciones en el juego, como por ejemplo: varillas más flexibles, pero también ir adaptando el estilo de juego al momento que se atraviesa con la edad. En el caso de los jugadores seniors, a pesar de la evolución de bolas y materiales, lo más normal es que con el

tiempo se vaya perdiendo distancia con el driver o incluso se necesite utilizar un palo más para hacer la misma distancia. No es raro que cueste aceptar, según detalla, esta pérdida de distancia, pero ello no debe convertirse en un lastre en el juego, sino afrontar esta situación y reconvertirla a favor del jugador. Un golifsta competitivo y eficaz en el campo, en vez de lamentarse por cuestiones como la pérdida de distancia, debe analizar qué debe/puede hacer para potenciar esa merma. Y cada jugador deberá encontrar respuestas que se adapten a sus posibilidades: cambiar de estrategia, mejorar de cincuenta metros hacia bandera, etc. En defini-

tiva, al final de la ronda, ganará el que menos golpes dé y no el que pegue más lejos. En otro orden, la confianza y la concentración también marcan la diferencia. La capacidad de concentración durante 40/50 segundos, de manera absoluta, es algo que limita la edad pero se pude trabajar. No obcecarse con un mal golpe y animarse y apoyarse en los aspectos positivos del juego. Si todo esto se consigue, independientemente de la edad, el golf seguirá siendo competitivo en manos de jugador de cualquier edad.

Golf: a sport where age doesn´t matter • Tackling each round with a positive attitude and adapting play to the abilities of each player make it a unique sport that can be played competitively regardless of whether you are twenty, forty or sixty years old. Golf is one of the sports that can be played for the longest time thanks to its rules and peculiarities that make it possible to play, even competitively, at all ages and even mixing generations in a single round. One of the great benefits of golf is that it can be equally appealing, in terms of competition, at twenty, forty or even sixty years old. As golf, as the psychologist of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Óscar del Río highlights in one of his recent studies, it is a “matter of attitude regardless of age”. He explains that the abilities and qualities of a golfer vary depending on their years playing, experience, and of course, age. However, the first key to remaining active is

staying competitive, regardless of age. Knowing about resources, strengths and weaknesses in play and being able to use all that knowledge on the course in order to optimise performance and take as few shots as possible. This entire process perhaps requires making changes to play, for example: more flexible shafts, but also gradually adapting the style of the play to the point you are going through with age. In the case of senior players, despite the evolution of balls and materials, the normal thing is to lose distance over time with the driver or even need to use another club to get the same distance. It isn´t uncommon to have a hard

time accepting, as he notes, this loss of distance, but that should not become a burden to play, rather it is necessary to tackle this situation and transform it in favour of the player. A competitive and efficient golfer on the course, instead of complaining about issues such as the loss of distance, has to analyse what they must/can do to boost that decline. And each player must find answers that adapt to their options: changing strategy, improving from fifty metres out to the flag, etc. Ultimately, at the end of the round, the winner is the player with fewest shots and not the one who hits furthest. On another front, confidence and concentration also make

a difference. The capacity to fully concentrate for 40/50 second is something that age limits but it can be worked on. Thus, being able to switch off concentration levels between shots and only paying total attention to your own shots, helps to optimise all the times and levels over 18 holes.

To finish, this study encourages working on mind-set and optimism. Not dwelling on a bad shot and getting encouraged by and relying on positive aspects of play. If all of this is achieved, regardless of age, golf will remain competitive in the hands of players of any age.

Sumar a través del golf, mucho mejor que dividir En Sotogrande se siente el golf, se respira golf, se huele a golf y se vive, como en pocos lugares del mundo, una pasión intensa por el golf. Precisamente, ese cúmulo de factores tan determinantes convierten al Valle del Guadiaro y toda su área de influencia en uno de los destinos más privilegiados del planeta para la excelsa práctica de este deporte. Un inquebrantable vínculo entre la vida de esta comunidad y la urbanización. Cuando en el año 2012 la Junta de Andalucía, con la retirada temporal de su apoyo y patrocinio al Andalucía Masters, dejó completamente huérfano de golf de alto nivel a Sotogrande (supuso un paréntesis de más de un lustro de campeonatos en el Real Club Valderrama); esta editorial, no otra, Grupo HCP quiso dar un paso al frente y hacer una

apuesta por el golf en Sotogrande. Lanzarse a ello pese al desértico clima en el ámbito económico, no hablemos ya del terreno publicitario, inmersos en plena crisis y con una prima de riesgo, hasta entonces desconocida, en cotas lunares. En ese convulso momento, Grupo HCP salió al paso y creó el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande (entonces llamado La Revista de Sotogrande, por vincularlo a la cabecera más emblemática). Un viaje que comenzó en aquel 2013 y que ha recorrido más de 50 sedes a lo largo del tiempo. Bajo este torneo han pasado más de una veintena de las principales marcas patrocinadoras de nivel nacional, más de 5.000 participantes y un flujo de ingresos más que notable para los campos de golf de nuestro entorno más inmediato. Una aventura por todos los cam-

pos de golf de la zona (aportando riqueza al entorno), por trazados vecinos costasoleños, e incluso nos ha permitido llevar esta competición y el nombre del Destino Sotogrande Golf fuera de nuestras fronteras, como es complejo luso de Vilamoura. Aunque la tierra tira y la final tiene su casa en el Real Club Valderrama, entidad que apostó por el Circuito desde el primer minuto. Esto convierte al Circuito de Golf, y por lo tanto a Grupo HCP, en el máximo exponente como impulsor y potenciador del destino golfístico de Sotogrande y del municipio San Roque, a nivel privado. Es decir, la institución no dedicada al mundo del golf que más ha hecho por promocionar este sector. Y no hablemos ya, siendo un medio de comunicación. Ya que hace años dimos el salto de contar eventos a generarlos y crearlos para activar

nuestro entorno (Foro Empresarial, 20 ediciones del Abierto de Golf El Periódico de Sotogrande o la Copa de Polo Punta del Este, entre otros muchos). Destacar, igualmente la enorme implicación con el mundo del polo de esta editorial en todos los niveles desde hace años. Por todas esas razones, no cabe en nuestro entendimiento que una institución pública como es el Ayuntamiento de San Roque utilice sus estructuras para rivalizar o competir contra una propuesta dinamizadora, como es el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande; presentando un evento de similares características, similar nombre, similares sedes, similar final y similar objetivo. Precisamente, en varias ediciones anteriores (ya sumamos ocho), se le pidió colaboración y apoyo a este mismo Gobierno Local y a su De-

legación de Turismo dando negativas por respuesta y restando relevancia al evento. Sólo nos queda seguir trabajando para ofrecer a nuestros fieles jugadores un evento de gran calidad, con los mejores patrocinadores posibles, los mejores campos y hacerles disfrutar como llevamos haciendo con el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande desde el año 2013. Gracias a todos los que nos han acompañado desde entonces (jugadores, campos y sponsors) y lanzarles un mensaje de bienvenida e invitación al nuevo curso cuya prueba inaugural arranca el 26 de junio (el mismo día que el ‘otro’ circuito, pura casualidad). Por lo que estamos más que seguros que el VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande contará también con la promoción y apoyo de todas las instituciones locales.

At that turbulent time, Grupo HCP stepped forward and created the Sotogrande Golf Circuit (then called Sotogrande Magazine, to link it to the most emblematic publication). A journey that began in 2014 and that has visited more than 50 venues over time. This tournament has involved more than twenty of the main national sponsorship brands, more than 5,000 participants and a highly notable flow of income for the golf courses in our immediate area. An adventure around all the golf courses in the area (bringing wealth to the area), to neighbouring courses in the Costa del Sol, and it has even enabled us to bring this competition

and the name of the Sotogrande Golf Destination outside of our borders, such as to the Portuguese complex of Vilamoura. However, the area has its attraction and the final is held at Real Club Valderrama, the entity that committed to the Circuit from the very outset. This makes the Golf Circuit, and therefore Grupo HCP, the leading exponent as a driving force and booster of the Sotogrande golfing destination and the municipality of San Roque, on a private level. That is to say, the institution not devoted to the world of golf that has done the most to promote this sector. And not to mention, as a media outlet. As years ago we

made the leap from reporting events to creating them in order to activate our environment (Business Forum, 20 editions of the El Periódico de Sotogrande Golf Open and the Punta del Este Polo Cup, among many others). Likewise, it is worth highlighting the enormous involvement with the world of polo of this editorial at all levels for years. For all of these reasons, we cannot understand that a public institution like the Council of San Roque could use its structures to have a rivalry or compete against an invigorating proposal like the Sotogrande Golf Circuit; by presenting an event of similar characteristics,

a similar name, similar venues, similar final and a similar aim. Indeed, at several previous editions (we are into the eighth), the Local Government and its Department of Tourism was asked for collaboration and support and it responded with a rejection, detracting from the importance of the event. We only need to continue working to offer our loyal players a high quality event, with the best possible sponsors, the best courses and make them enjoy it as we have done with the Sotogrande Golf Circuit since 2013. Thanks to everyone who has accompanied us since then (players, courses and sponsors) and we want to send them a welcome message and invite them to the new year whose opening event gets underway on 26 June (the same day as the “other” circuit, what a coincidence). Therefore, we are really certain that the VIII Sotogrande Golf Circuit will also have the promotion and support of the entire Local Government.

marés este domingo en el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid convirtiéndose por primera vez en campeón de España Individual de la categoría. El golfista de La Zagaleta (Málaga) llevó una línea muy consistente en la competición. Co-

menzó con un sensacional 72 que le dejaba a las puertas del liderato, en manos entonces de Jorge García y Estanislao Urquijo (71), se aupó a la cabeza con un 73 en la calurosa segunda jornada y controló la situación en una tercera (75) más complicada en lo atmosférico. Tras una jornada final pasada por una ligera lluvia y un incómodo viento, Cestino finalizó con 220 golpes, cuatro menos que los invertidos por el defensor del título, el siempre combativo Ignacio González, cuya ronda de 71golpes, una de las mejores de la semana, le ha llevado a remontar un buen número de posiciones.

Más polo, más Sotogrande. La conjunción y puesta en común entre los principales clubes de polo del entorno de influencia de Sotogrande: Santa María Polo Club, Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo y Ayala Polo Club, dibuja una intensa y atractiva campaña de polo la zona con más de una decena de competiciones en liza durante los prácticamente cuatro meses de la temporada alta, entre mayo y agosto.

Con un intenso calendario, con casi todos los fines de semana con torneos hasta el inicio de las tres copas tradicionales del verano (Bronce, Plata y Oro); la diversión, el entretenimiento, ocio y deporte de máximo nivel están asegurados en Sotogrande. Resaltar que las diferentes sedes se irán alternando, permutando e incluso combinando entre sí a lo largo de las diferentes competiciones. Contando alguna de ellas con equipos de hasta 20

Mismo sistema de competición, con dos categorías, para los dos siguientes fines de semana (del 17 al 27 de junio), con la celebración del Open de España de Polo. Julio Un mes con mucho, muchísimo polo organizado en Sotogrande. Arranca con la Copa Toñadejo, también divida en dos categorías: Bajo y Mediano (6/8 Goles HCP y 12/14 HCP), entre el 1 y 4 de julio).

En el mismos sistema de competición se celebra el tradicional Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel del 8 al 18 de julio; clásica copa y antesala del inicio del clásico torneo estival de Sotogrande. Cita que arranca con la Copa de Bronce del 26 al 31 de julio y que reunirá a equipos de HCP Mediano y Alto (12/14 Goles y 18/20 Goles). Agosto El mes por tradición y cultura del polo y el verano en Sotogrande. Como siempre, las Copas de Plata y Oro serán las grandes animadoras del verano y su celebración se reparten entre las dos quincenas (del 1 a 13, la plateada; y del 14 al 28 la dorada). Ambas cometiciones también las disputarán equipos entre 12/14 Goles y 18/20 Goles de HCP. The coordination and pooling between the main polo clubs in Sotogrande´s area of influence: Santa María Polo Club, Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo and Ayala Polo Club, has created an intense and appealing polo campaign with more than ten competitions up for grabs during the practically four months of the peak season, between May and August. With an intense schedule, with tournaments almost every week up until the start of the three traditional summer cups (Bronze, Silver and Gold); fun, entertainment, leisure and top-level sport are guaranteed

in Sotogrande. It is worth highlighting that the different venues will alternate, swap and even combine with one another throughout the different competitions. One of them has teams of up to 20 HCP goals, which marks the return of High Level polo to Sotogrande. May An intense pre-season month, to call it that, after the cups of the Iberian Polo Tour. It begins with the Welcome Cup; and activity continues with the San Enrique de Guadiaro Cup (20-23 May – 6/8 HCP Goals) and the Ké Sotogrande Cup (27-30 May – 6/8 HCP Goals).

June More fun and entertainment with high level polo throughout the month. It begins with the Joseph McMicking Cup played on a dual basis, between 10 and 13 June, with two parallel tournaments for Low and Intermediate teams (6/8 HCP Goals and 12/14 HCP). The same competition system, with two categories, for the two following weekends (from 17 to 27 June) with the celebration of the Spanish Polo Open. July A month with lots, an awful lot of polo organised in Sotogrande. It begins with the Toñadejo Cup, also

divided into two categories: Low and Intermediate (6/8 HCP Goals and 12/14 HCP), between 1 and 4 July). With the same competition system, the traditional Enrique Zobel Founder Memorial from 8 to 19 July; the classic cup and prelude to the start of the classic Sotogrande summer tournament. An event that gets underway with the Bronze Cup from 26 to 31 July and that will bring together Intermediate and High HCP teams (12/14 Goals and 18/20 Goals).

As always, the Silver and Gold Cups will be the big entertainers of the summer and their celebration is divided over two fortnights (silver, from 1 to 13; and gold from 14 to 28). Both competitions will also be played by teams with between 12/14 and 18/20 HCP Goals. Fun and good polo are assured this summer in Sotogrande (all under the organisation of Minuto 7 Polo).

Reyes de la noche Todavía es recordada la apasionante batalla de la radio deportiva española de finales de los 80, principios de los 90, que dejo multitud de anécdotas para la historia radiofónica. Y precisamente de esta historia bebe la nueva serie de Movistar + ‘Reyes de la noche’, porque la disputa de la corona de las ondas nocturnas entre José María García y José Ramón de la Morena queda evidenciada en esta nueva comedia española que aspira a ser la primera gran serie nacional del año.

Bien es verdad que los personajes principales no toman los nombres de sus referentes, pero es indudable el parecido con ellos. El papel Javier Gutiérrez se asemeja de manera sublime a García interpretando a Paco el Condor el periodista deportivo de éxito del momento. Y por su parte el personaje de Miki Esparbé, Jota Montes, dista más de su referente, pero recogiendo esa sabia nueva para la época que introdujo De la Morena. Ambos son presentados como maestro y pupilo para luego separar sus caminos y convertirse en enemigos. Pero no se dejen engañar por su envoltorio a priori solo atractivo para los más apasionados del deporte, ya que esta comedia crea un fiel reflejo de una sociedad más machista y casposa como era en aquella época en la que personajes como el de Marga interpretada por Itsaso Arana se intenta abrir paso en una redacción en la que impera la testosterona. Pues, aunque no renuncia a la comedia en ningún momento podemos encontrar un fondo dramático y de critica acida en algunas situaciones.
