We have already experienced a significant drop in income from operations. The Haven relies on revenue from our services as well as generous donors like you to feed and provide lifesaving care for the animals. Right now, we are deeply concerned about how this will affect the animals who depend on us.

That’s why we’ve created the COVID-19 Homeless Pet Emergency Fund to ensure all of our animals continue to get the food, shelter, and care they need during these challenging times.

We are asking individuals reading this article to please donate. Any amount you can give will make a life-changing difference. If you have a pet, then you will probably agree that they provide us with an abundance of joy and unconditional love. Please give your little furry family member an extra hug from all of us at The Haven.

The Haven is committed to meeting this urgent need, but we can’t do it without you. Just a few weeks ago, we ...

• Postponed our 3rd Annual Haven Day of Giving, a 24-hour campaign to raise funds to support our cause during the spring and summer.

• Canceled our Outreach and Volunteers programs — offsite adoption events, shelter tours, and school visits.

• Implemented Emergency Curbside Adoptions and Fostering at the shelter by appointment only. We will NOT turn our back on the animals.

• Set up an Emergency Pet Food Assistance program for those in need of pet food to prevent pet owners from surrendering their pets.

• Created online, user-friendly forms for Adoptions, Emergency Fostering, Emergency Pet Placement Assistance, Lost/Found Pets, & Pet Food Assistance.

SPOTLIGHT Meet Kathie! Kathie is a vital part of The Haven Volunteer Army. She is a very dedicated individual who has a passion for helping homeless pets find forever homes. Kathie is a professional pet photographer (owner of Ono Pet Photography) who comes to the shelter every week to take amazing photos of our precious orphans for the website so everyone can see the animals in the best light possible.
