Canolfan Cymorth Casineb Cymru Lansiwyd Canolfan Cymorth Casineb Cymru yn swyddogol ar 11 Mai 2022, gyda chyllid gan Lywodraeth Cymru am dair blynedd, gydag estyniad posib o ddwy flynedd. Mae’r Ganolfan wedi bod yn weithredol ers 1 Ebrill 2022, ac mae’n parhau gyda’r gwaith paratoadol a wnaed gan Gymorth i Ddioddefwyr a Llywodraeth Cymru wrth gyflwyno’r Adroddiad Troseddau Casineb Cenedlaethol blaenorol a’r Ganolfan Cymorth Cymru.

Rydym ni wrth ein boddau i fod yn gweithio gyda Llywodraeth Cymru flaengar unwaith eto, ac yn cydnabod yr effaith mae casineb yn ei chael ar Gymru a’r angen am wasanaeth gwlad gyfan a phwrpasol i roi cefnogaeth ac ymgysylltu.

Am y tro cyntaf erioed, rydym ni’n gallu cynnig cymorth uniongyrchol i blant a phobl ifanc 13 oed ac yn hŷn, gan sicrhau bod gan arddegwyr rywle i droi i gael cymorth ar adeg allweddol yn eu bywydau.

Wales Hate Support Centre The Wales Hate Support Centre officially launched on 11th May 2022, funded by Welsh Government for three years, with a possible two year extension. Operational since the 1st April 2022, the Centre continues the ground work established by Victim Support and Welsh Government when delivering the previous National Hate Crime Report and Support Centre Wales.

We’re thrilled to be working with a progressive Welsh Government once again, recognising the impact that hate has on Wales and the need to dedicate a nation-wide service to support and engagement.

For the first time ever we’re able to offer direct support to children & young people aged 13 and over, ensuring that teenagers always have somewhere to turn to for support at a crucial time in their lives.

CYFLWYNIAD I’R GANOLFAN CYMORTH CASINEB CYMRU NEWYDD SBON Yn dilyn proses tendro gystadleuol, mae Cymorth i Ddioddefwyr Cymru wedi cael ei gomisiynu gan Lywodraeth Cymru i gynnal y ‘Ganolfan Cymorth Casineb Cymru’ a darparu cymorth i ddioddefwyr casineb ledled Cymru. Mae’r gwasanaeth wedi derbyn cyllid am 3 blynedd (2022-2025) gydag estyniad posib o ddwy flynedd.

Mae’r prosiect yn cynnwys dau linyn o ddarpariaeth: Darpariaeth Gwasanaeth: Cymorth uniongyrchol i bobl mae casineb yn effeithio arnynt.

Mae amrywiaeth eang o gymorth emosiynol ac ymarferol ar gael, gan gynnwys eiriolaeth.

Mae’r gwasanaeth ar gael i unrhyw un mae casineb yn effeithio arno/arni - ac mae hyn yn cynnwys troseddau a digwyddiadau casineb yn ogystal â chasineb nad yw’n droseddol, megis casineb arlein. Gall dioddefwyr, tystion a theulu dioddefwyr gyrchu’r gwasanaeth.

Hyfforddiant ac Ymgysylltiad: Ymgysylltu â sefydliadau a sefydliadau ar lawr gwlad ar draws y sector sy’n gweithio gyda phobl mewn mwy o berygl o brofi casineb. Bydd y tîm yn datblygu portffolio hyfforddi i ddiwallu anghenion cymunedau Cymru’n well, gan gynnwys casineb ar-lein, Allyship ac ymagweddau tystion i gasineb.

Bydd y gwasanaeth yn parhau i ddarparu cyfleoedd i Arweinwyr Troseddau Casineb, i sefydliadau ymrwymo i’r Siarter Troseddau Casineb a gweithio gyda phartneriaid i ddatblygu arloesedd a mentrau ar draws ein cymunedau yng Nghymru.

INTRODUCING THE NEW WALES HATE SUPPORT CENTRE Through the competitive tender process Victim Support Cymru have been commissioned by Welsh Government to deliver the ‘Wales Hate Support Centre’, providing support for victims of hate across Wales. The service has received 3 years funding (2022-25) with a possible 2 year extension. .

The project consists of two delivery strands: Service Delivery: Direct support for people affected by hate. A wide range of emotional and practical support is available including advocacy.

The service is available for anyone affected by hate – this includes hate crime, incidences and sub-criminal hate such as online hate.

Victims, witnesses and family of victims can access the service.

Training & Engagement: Engagement with organisations and grass roots organisations pan-sector that engage with people more at risk of experiencing hate. The team will be developing the training portfolio further to meet the needs of communities in Wales, including online hate, Allyship and bystander approaches to hate. The service will continue to provide opportunities for Hate Crime Leaders, for organisations to sign-up to the Hate Crime Charter and work with partners to develop innovation and initiatives across our communities in Wales.

In addition, the newly funded specialist service will introduce a number of key new initiatives / services:

Victim Advocacy Forum* – supporting victims, who are experts by experience, to shape the service to better meet the needs of those affected by hate.

Wales Advisory Board* - A partnership of key stakeholders/partners across Wales, exploring the challenges facing Wales in the context of hate, sharing research and knowledge to help to shape services in the sector The first ever, nation-wide service providing direct support for children & young people (CYP) experiencing hate. Using the Gillick Principle, CYP experiencing hate will be able to access the service independently through our specialist Victim Care Officers. * Names to be changed in due course as the groups develop and choose their own group descriptive name

SERVICE NEWS HATE HURTS WALES We’re thrilled to have worked with Welsh Government on the latest addition to the Hate Hurts Wales Campaign.

HATE CRIME AWARENESS WEEK Looking ahead…

National Hate Crime Awareness Week takes place between 8th – 15th October 2022. The Wales Hate Support Centre helps to coordinate activity across Wales, support in the past has included a social media pack and calendar of events. Early planning is key to a successful campaign week.

Information sessions about the campaign week and how organisations and groups can get involved will be held across Wales.

SERVICE NEWS VICTIMS VOICE A really exciting part of the new Wales Help Support Centre bid was the establishment of a Victim’s Forum to help underpin our work.

We will be looking at how this work can be used effectively to influence both service delivery as well as engagement moving forward.

This Forum aims to acknowledge the importance of lived experience and how it should be used to help effect change at both a local & national level.

The core group will be supplemented by a wider community of volunteers, also with lived experience, who will help inform the discussion and allow us to capture as wide a range of input as possible

As an organisation Victim Support is always developing & growing but we want to ensure people with lived experience are placed at the heart of that service development.

The Forum and the topics explored will be user-led and we have already held a really informative & powerful inaugural session to look at how together we can use the Forum to help inform our Hate Crime service moving forward.

We are privileged to have this opportunity and are very grateful to those individuals who have agreed to give up their time to take part in this really important piece of work.

SILVER CLOUD Users simply:

One of the many interventions we are able to offer to our service users is SilverCloud.

SilverCloud is a safe and secure guided self-help platform based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles and techniques.

Victim Support developed SilverCloud in consultation with SilverCloud Health as an online space offering personalised programmes which are made available to our service users and can be used either independently or as part of ongoing one to one Caseworker support.

It can be of great value to victims of crime and also gives them the independence to work through the programmes at a pace & time that feels right for them as they can be accessed at any time and are formatted to work on tablets & phones as well as PCs.

Start with a 5 question multiple choice Wellbeing Quiz to find out which programmes are suitable for them Select a programme & press the ‘sign up’ button. The programmes are interactive and based on years of clinical research and are designed to help improve & maintain your wellbeing.

Learn & practice for up to one hour per week. Each programme consists of several different modules and as you progress you’ll find new exercises to apply the learning in your daily life All the programmes are designed to help improve & maintain wellbeing by addressing underlying issues that can have a negative impact on our lives.

Nod y Ddeddf Dioddefwyr ddrafft yw: chwyddleisio lleisiau dioddefwyr a sicrhau bod dioddefwyr wrth wraidd y system cyfiawnder troseddol; gwella cefnogaeth i ddioddefwyr er mwyn iddynt ymdopi ac adfer wedi effaith trosedd a’u galluogi nhw i weithio gyda’r system cyfiawnder troseddol; cryfhau tryloywder a goruchwyliaeth o asiantau cyfiawnder troseddol ar lefel leol a chenedlaethol fel bod profiadau dioddefwyr yn eu cefnogi i ymgysylltu, ac aros yn gysylltiedig, â’r system cyfiawnder troseddol.

Gobaith y Llywodraeth yw y bydd y mesurau hyn yn helpu dioddefwyr i gael hyder bod y cymorth iawn ar gael ac os ydyn nhw am adrodd am drosedd, y bydd y system cyfiawnder troseddol yn eu trin yn y ffordd y mae’r hawl ganddynt ei disgwyl.

DRAFT VICTIMS BILL After Government consultation the Draft Victims Bill is now publicly available.

The draft Victims Bill aims to: amplify victims’ voices and make sure victims are at the heart of the criminal justice system improve support for victims to cope and recover from the impact of crime and enable them to engage with the criminal justice system; strengthen transparency and oversight of criminal justice agencies at local and national level so that victims’ experiences support them to engage, and remain engaged with, the criminal justice system.

The Government hopes these measures will help victims to have confidence that there is the right support available and that if they report crime, the criminal justice system will treat them in the way they should rightly expect.
