Pa wahaniaeth mae'r elfen gasineb yn ei wneud?
Profwyd bod troseddau a digwyddiadau casineb yn effeithio ar iechyd seicolegol pobl hyd at bedair gwaith yn drymach na mathau eraill o droseddau.

What difference does the hate element make?
Hate crimes and incidences have been proven to impact on people’s psychological health up to four times heavier than other crime types.
It is an identity based crime, that hits the core of who you are.

Hyder yn lle rydym yn byw: gall wneud i bobl deimlo'n ofnus o'r lle y maent yn byw ynddo. Gall cartref roi ymdeimlad o ddiogelwch a noddfa i bobl yn aml, ond pan fydd ymddygiad gwrthgymdeithasol yn digwydd, gall ddod yn lle sy'n llawn ofn a phryder.
Effeithio ar y bobl o amgylch y person a dargedir, megis ffrindiau a theulu

Gall erledigaeth dro ar ôl tro gael effaith ddofn a hirhoedlog ar y rhai y mae’n effeithio arnynt – oedolion a phlant fel ei gilydd.
Confidence in where we live: it can leave people feeling fearful and scared of the place they live. Home can often give people a sense of safety and sanctuary, but when ASB takes place, this can end up being a place of fear and worry.
Impacting on the people around the person targeted, such as friends and family
Some ASB related hate can be subcriminal, making it difficult for authorities to tackle it effectively.
It can leave people feeling alone and ignored.
Repeat victimisation can have a profound and long-lasting impact on those affected by it – both adults and children.
Effaith ar Bobl Ifanc
Gall ymddygiad gwrthgymdeithasol sy'n gysylltiedig â chasineb effeithio ar bobl ifanc mewn amrywiaeth o ffyrdd, hyd yn oed os nad ydynt yn cael eu targedu'n uniongyrchol.

Amy
Mae Amy yn gyn-swyddog heddlu a chafodd ei thargedu gan gymdogion mewn cymuned glos a fu’n ei cham-drin, ei haflonyddu a’i bygwth, oherwydd ei hanabledd a’i chyfeiriadedd rhywiol.
Fe gafodd fygythiadau corfforol, cyswllt corfforol digroeso, hoelion yn nheiars ei char a chwynion di-baid i asiantaethau eraill.
Ychydig iawn mae’r heddlu wedi’i wneud fel ymateb ac mae Amy’n egluro beth mae hi wedi’i ddysgu o’i phrofiad all helpu pobl eraill;
“...mae llawer o bobl yn canolbwyntio ar y math o reswm pam daethoch chi i ddioddef...ond mater o wahaniaeth ydy e mewn gwirionedd a bod rhywun yn eich casáu chi oherwydd y gwahaniaeth hwnnw, a bod rhywun yn eich casáu chi ddigon oherwydd y gwahaniaeth hwnnw eu bod nhw eisiau gwneud drwg i chi, cael gwared o’ch rhyddid neu’ch hunaniaeth, eich bygwth chi...”
“Yn fy mhrofiad i, gallwch chi gael eich targedu gan ddieithriaid neu gan y bobl yn eich cymuned.
Profiad o’r ail fath sydd gen i sy’n golygu, fel sy’n wir mewn cyd-destun domestig, nad ydych chi’n gallu gadael y sefyllfa, allwch chi ddim osgoi’r sefyllfa ac mae eich diwrnod wedi’i lenwi â chant o frwydrau.”
Mae cymorth arbenigol hygyrch yn bwysig i bawb sy’n dioddef troseddau a digwyddiadau casineb.
Mae gwasanaethau fel Canolfan Cymorth Casineb Cymru yn Victim Support yn arbenigwyr mewn dioddefoleg ac yn arbenigwyr mewn cefnogi dioddefwyr troseddau;
Amy: “mae fy ngweithiwr achos i wedi bod yn anhygoel. Roedd hi’n achubiaeth oherwydd ei bod hi’n fy nghredu i, fe welodd hi’r broblem dros ei hun, buodd hi’n eirioli drosta i gyda’r heddlu.
Mae cael rhywun sy’n tawelu’ch meddwl ac yn cadarnhau nad chi sydd ar fai, yn cydnabod realiti’r sefyllfa, ac yn cynnig cefnogaeth yn hollbwysig...rwy’n ddiolchgar iddi hi am ei chymorth ac am fodolaeth timau arbenigol fel ei thîm hi.
Heb unrhyw amheuaeth, dyma un o’r sefydliadau mwyaf cymwynasgar ac effeithiol sydd gennym ni yn y Deyrnas Unedig. Byddai’n dda gen i petai pawb yn dilyn eu harweiniad.”
Amy is an ex-police officer and was singled out for abuse, harassment and intimidation by neighbours in a close-knit community, targeted towards her disability and sexual orientation.
She experienced physical threats, unwanted physical contact, nails in car tyres and constant complaints to other agencies.
The police have done very little in response and Amy explains what he’s learned from her experience to help others;
“...many people focus on the type of reason why you become a victim…but it’s really about difference and someone hating you for that difference and someone hating you for that difference enough that they want to harm you, remove your freedom or identity, intimidate you…”
“In my experience, you can be targeted by strangers or those in your community.
My experience is of the latter which means, like in a domestic context, you can’t leave the situation, you cannot avoid the situation and your day is made up of a hundred battles.”
Accessible specialist support is important for all victims of hate crimes and incidences.
Services like the Wales Hate Support Centre at Victim Support are experts in victimology and specialists in supporting victims of hate;
Amy: “my case worker has been incredible. She was a lifeline because she believed me, she saw the problem for herself, advocated for me to the police.
Having someone who reassures you that you are not to blame, acknowledges the reality of the situation, and offers support is crucial…I am grateful for her help and for the existence of specialist teams like hers.
Without doubt, they are one of the most helpful and effective organisations we have in the UK. I only wish everyone else followed their lead.”
