Croeso i Gylchlythyr a Chalendr digwyddiadau Wythnos Ymwybyddiaeth Troseddau Casineb 2025.
Wrth fy mod yn ysgrifennu hwn, mae Cymru'n wynebu amseroedd cymhleth ac amhendant.
Ledled Cymru a'r tu hwnt, rydym yn gweld tensiynau cymunedol yn cynyddu, rhwygau yn dyfnhau ac ofn yn tyfu ymhlith y rhai sy'n cael eu targedu am bwy ydyn nhw.
Yn yr hinsawdd hon, nid yw rôl gwasanaethau dioddefwyr annibynnol erioed wedi bod yn bwysicach. Mae'r gwasanaethau hyn yn cynnig cymorth ac amddiffyniad, ond hefyd llinell achub o obaith ac urddas i'r rhai y mae casineb yn effeithio arnynt.
Mae Wythnos Ymwybyddiaeth Troseddau
Casineb yn gyfle pwerus i ni ddechrau sgyrsiau pwysig – sgyrsiau am gasineb a'i effaith ddinistriol, am atal casineb, ac am wydnwch a dewrder y rhai sy'n ei wynebu.

Welcome to the Newsletter and Calendar of events for National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2025.
As I Write this, Wales is facing complex and uncertain times.
Across Wales and beyond, we are witnessing rising community tensions, deepening divisions and growing fear among those targeted simply for who they are.
In this climate, the role of independent victim services has never been more vital. These services offer not only support and protection, but also a lifeline of hope and dignity to those affected by hate.
Hate Crime Awareness Week gives us a powerful opportunity to start conversations that matter – conversations about hate, its devastating impact, about prevention and the resilience and courage of those who face it.
Hate Crime Awareness Week is more than a campaign. It’s a chance to pause, reflect, and to speak openly about the harm hate causes.
This year we shine a spotlight on disability hate crime, a form of abuse that is too often hidden, misunderstood or ignored. By raising awareness we can help to challenge the prejudice and
stigma that fuels it and ensure that the people affected are seen, heard and supported.
This year’s key event takes place on Monday 13 October. Focused on disability hate, it brings together good practice from across Wales. The event is free to attend, but booking is essential.
Even in these difficult times, there is hope. Across Wales, people and communities are standing up against hate – refusing to be silent, and choosing solidarity over division.
Their courage reminds us that change is possible. By working tougher, we can build more cohesive, compassionate communities where everyone feels safe and valued.
This Newsletter and Calendar of events are just one resource that we provide as part of Hate Crime Awareness Week. The wider Partner Pack can be found HERE, and includes a wide range of resources to support partners and community leaders during the week.

Dwarfism Awareness and Hate Crime
As well as being Hate Crime Awareness week, October is Dwarfism Awareness Month.
Little People UK and the Wales Hate Support Centre aim to raise awareness of dwarfism and identify how hate crime can have an impact on the dwarfism community. Disability hate crime is one of five personal characteristics protected under Hate Crime legislation in the UK.
There is a difference between a ‘hate crime’ and a ‘hate incident’. An official definition of hate crime can be found here
Evidence also shows that hate can have a more profound psychological impact than most other crime types (University of Sussex).
Some people may have a hate experience once, whilst others may experience it consistently and experience the additional cumulative impact. People can experience hate from strangers or from someone they know. Hate can happen in-person or online.

Hate Crime Awareness Week Project: Tackling Hate Crime in Hospital Settings. As part of Hate Crime Awareness Week, NWP are leading a focused initiative to address the recent changes in hate crime incidents within hospital environments
Recognising the impact these incidents have on both staff and visitors, this project will involve:
Partnering with Victim Support to provide accessible reporting pathways and emotional support
Engaging with hospital staff and visitors through open conversations to understand lived experiences and concerns.
Collaborating with staff networks to learn from their insights and develop informed, inclusive responses.
Encouraging reporting of hate crimes and ensuring that all voices are heard and respected
This initiative aims to foster safer, more inclusive healthcare spaces by listening, learning, and taking meaningful action

On August 1st 2025 the Wales Hate Support Centre was delighted to award the Hate Crime Charter Trustmark to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The North Wales Training and Engagement team worked alongside the Trust to map create a scheme of work that improves procedure and practice -this is based on the rights of victims and ensures staff and service users at all levels are supported if they experience hate incidents or crimes across the whole Trust estate.
To promote the Trustmark, the Trust’s Equality team have partnered with the Wales Hate Support Centre to;
Deliver a Hate Crime Awareness Roadshow, taking information stands to the three main acute hospitals across North Wales
Training for managers on how to support staff who may be dealing with hate incidents or crimes at work
Celebration of the Trustmark award at the Living Well, Living Proud
LGBTQ+ Health Fair on October 8th
