Peace in Schools
In 2022, with the Harbourton’s Foundation’s generous support, Peace in Schools served nearly 600 Portland Public School high school students, who completed our researchbacked, for-credit Mindful Studies class. This represents over 41,000 participant hours of life-transforming social emotional learning. The 72-144 hour course equips teens with a life-long toolset for connection and compassion, leading to significant improvements in psychological and emotional wellbeing.
Of students surveyed last semester:

• 94% felt supported in relation to anxiety
• 92% felt more present and aware
• 84% found that their Mindfulness class supported a sense of belonging at their school
• 90% reported using mindfulness tools, ideas, and practices in their lives outside of school
• 74% reported using mindfulness once or more each week, and 37% every day
In addition to our work in Portland, 2022 kicked off our new strategic plan and pilot program - we are partnering with high schools in Oregon and the California Bay Area to test a partnership model that would allow Mindful Studies to scale regionally and nationally.
