& Josephine County Chamber of Commerce ~
For months our community has been buzzing with youthful energy and entrepreneurial spirit as over 300 kids prepare to participate in this year’s Lemonade Day. This annual event, presented by the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce, transforms our local streets into a vibrant showcase of budding business minds, with more than 75 lemonade stands dotting our streets.
Lemonade Day isn’t just about selling lemonade; it’s a hands-on learning experience that equips our youth with essential skills. Through the program, children learn to craft a business plan, manage costs, market their products, handle finances, and practice customer service— all while gaining a deep appreciation for community involvement by giving back to local nonprofits.
This year’s event was made possible thanks to the dedication of our sponsors and countless volunteers and mentors who guide the kids through every step of their entrepreneurial journey. From calculating the cost of goods to ensuring food safety and sanitation, these volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that our young entrepreneurs have the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.
The community’s support is phenomenal as residents flock to the stands, demonstrating that when we come together, we can foster a supportive environment that encourages innovation and growth in our youth. The enthusiasm and generosity displayed are a testament to our collective commitment to nurturing the next generation of business leaders and community advocates.
Lemonade Day perfectly embodies the Chamber’s mission by empowering today’s youth to become the forward-thinking leaders of tomorrow, one lemonade stand at a time! Thank you to everyone who has participated and supported this wonderful initiative. Together, we’re not just building businesses; we’re shaping the future.

Our Young Professionals Panel Discussion on Cash Flow Success in July was well attended, and jam packed with quality content. Our Chamber President/CEO, Terry Hopkins led the discussion with our talented panelist consisting of: Troy Yoho of Weekend Beer Company, Kaycee Miller of Rentec Direct and Dan Doyle of Nations Lending.
The wide range of pointed questions covered:
• The differences between cash flow and profitability? • Tools or processes used to manage cash flow? • Balancing focus on the bottom line, employee welfare and giving back to the community?
Some of the many strategies mentioned were:
•Don’t burn through inventory without having cash to replenish stock •Don’t let spending impact your ability to leverage capital •Legislation and taxes can impact your business overnight •QuickBooks and Excel are imperative to cash flow monitoring and metrics •A business should participate in its community- if not monetarily, then contribute time •Make small adjustments that you can comeback from instead of large changes that you can’t.
Special thanks to Trever Yarrish for recording the entire panel discussion. It can be found on the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber YouTube page. We are so thankful for the Hivve accommodating our group-such a dynamic setup. In August, we will be doing our Quarterly Trash Cleanup for the Adopt-A-Street Program and also partnering with RCC for Professional Development on Trades & Certifications.
