How do you react to pain that you experience in your body? Do you ignore it or do your address discomfort immediately? We are so busy living our hectic lives that in most cases, we sweep our aches and pains under the rug and pray they go away. At times, we all suffer from some type of pain whether it’s a headache, backache, joint pain, and the list goes on and on. Pain is a good indicator that something is going on in our bodies, and we need to pay attention to it. When problems occur and we act on them right away, it decreases the risk of a more serious problem. According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine, chronic pain affects approximately 100 million U.S. adults and costs $560 to $635 billion per year in direct medical treatment costs and lost productivity. When we engage in a regular workout program, we feel better. Exercise can be a natural treatment for chronic pain, depending on the level of pain. Of course, some situations will need medical advice or a trip to your doctor. Depending on the cause of the pain, a well-developed workout routine can help to decrease inflammation, increase mobility, and decrease the pain, without relying on any medication. Walk Your Pain Away A good way to prevent problems from happening before they manifest is to combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training to your daily routine. Once you lengthen your muscles and release stress from the body, you will immediately feel restored and energized. Being more flexible is also a great way to avoid stiffness which often leads to injuries and pain.
