Traffic Management Local Residents Data Sheet Goodwood Festival of Speed 11-14 July 2024 Event Installation: There will be a steady build up of heavy transport ferrying essential event infrastructure to the grounds of Goodwood Park in the last few weeks prior to the event. This will gradually intensify the closer we get to the event weekend. This transport is directed through two routes. The first is from the Westerton Crossroads northbound along New Barn Hill towards the Goodwood Hotel and through event Gate 1, just north of the park gates. The second is north on Claypit Lane and up Kennel Hill to event Gate 3, known as South Lodge. Whilst we do not wish to deter you from using your normal and preferred routes, we would recommend that you refrain from using these particular roads in the final week of build up as this will avoid disruption to your journey. During the Event: The event parking plan necessitates that a number of the fields bordering the event are utilised for public vehicles. In the continued interest of public safety several roads are subject to formal Road Closure Notices whilst the event is live. Please see below a list of road closures, which you can cross reference to the map overleaf. 1) 2) 3)

4) 5)

Kennel Hill/ Selhurstpark Road: Closed to southbound traffic in the afternoon only: one-way from 15:30hrs – 21:00hrs. The resident’s permit is not valid during this time due to a one-way system in place. Westerton Crossroads, New Road & New Barn Hill New Road from junction with Kennel Hill to A285: Westbound ingress one-way from 6:30hrs – 13:30hrs & Eastbound egress one-way from 15:30hrs – 21:00hrs. The resident’s permit is not valid during this time due to a one-way system in place. Kennel Hill & Pook Lane: Residents Access Only. Pook Lane/ Fordwater Road & Lower Road/ Fordwater Road: Residents Access Only.

Generally speaking, the roads will be closed from 0600hrs daily until 2000hrs. The closures are subject to implementation by Sussex Police and our Traffic Management Partner, Tracsis, and on occasion the closures are lifted when traffic is deemed as light. Your enclosed local residents pass will allow you to pass through these road closures, the exception to this would be if wanting to go against any one-way systems that may be in place as highlighted above, but we do recommend that you avoid the road closures wherever possible. The School Bus: The route and collection points for the Stagecoach school bus will be unaffected during the course of the event. Stagecoach has already been notified. Event Extraction: The traffic along New Road and New Barn Hill will be heavy during the week following the event and traffic movements will fall away rapidly after that. Normal use of these routes will be unaffected during this time. Liaison: The aim of the Goodwood Road Racing Company is to keep the impact of the event on the local community to an absolute minimum but, as you can appreciate, hosting an International Event on this scale leads to some logistical issues. Throughout the year we host a series of meetings and work closely with the Local Authority, Highway Network Services, the Emergency services, the public transport provider and the Local Parish Councils to ensure that the traffic management of the event is as effective and as efficient as possible. If you have any questions, please direct them in the first instance to the Ticket Office on 01243 755055.
