Course content IGCSE Chemistry syllabus helps learners to understand the technological world in which they live, in a way that starts with the fundamental ideas in Chemistry, putting the building blocks in place. This enables students to develop an understanding of topics such as chemical structures and their properties, chemical reactions and how to analyse substances. They also develop an understanding of 10 and 11:

Particulate nature of matter: Studying concepts related to atoms, elements and compounds including Electricity and Chemistry: Studying electrolysis, energetics of a reaction and energy transfers. Chemical reactions: Organic Chemistry: properties. Describing the properties of alkanes, alkenes, carboxylic acids and polymers.
