Con il tempo il rapporto tra geografia e letteratura si è fatto più intenso e con i “Parchi Letterari” si sviluppa una formula nuova di valorizzazione e promozione dei luoghi, anche in chiave economica. Il Parco Letterario venne inaugurato nel 1993 nella sua natia Valsinni in provincia di Matera. Attorno alla vicenda umana e poetica di Isabella Morra, una delle voci liriche più importanti del XVI secolo la cui produzione fu molto apprezzata da Benedetto Croce, il Parco Letterario propone un percorso “sentimentale” che si dispiega dal cuore del borgo medioevale di Valsinni fino al castello, dimora dei Morra. Esplorando vicoli e viuzze del centro storico, il visitatore, nelle ore serali del periodo estivo, viene accompagnato da menestrelli e rappresentazioni teatrali che, in un clima suggestivo, fanno rivivere le tragiche vicende del destino della giovane poetessa, prima reclusa per futili “ragioni d’onore” e poi uccisa dai fratelli a 25 anni per aver stretto una relazione con un nobile spagnolo non gradito alla famiglia. Around the human and poetic history of Isabella Morra, one of the most important lyrical voices of the sixteenth century whose production was highly appreciated by Benedetto Croce, the literary Park offers a “sentimental” path that starts from the heart of the medieval village of Valsinni to the castle, home of the Morras. Exploring the alleys and narrow streets in the historic centre, the visitors, in the evening hours of summer, are accompanied by minstrels and performances which, in an evocative atmosphere, relive the tragic events of the fate of the young female poet, first as a recluse for trivial “reasons of honor” and then killed by her own brothers at 25 because of an affair with a Spanish nobleman unwelcome to her family.

Albino Pierro, il Parco Letterario e il Centro Studi - Tursi

Il legame del grande poeta Albino Pierro (Tursi, 19 novembre 1916 – Roma, 23 marzo 1995) con la sua e nostra “Terra del ricordo”, è stato ed è tuttora intenso, diremmo indissolubile, proprio per la poetica dichiarata e per aver fondato ed elevato a dignità letteraria una lingua inesistente prima di lui, con la “conversione” al lirismo del dialetto tursitano. Pochi anni prima della scomparsa del poeta, Stanislao Nievo aveva avuto la felice intuizione dei Parchi Letterari, sorti come istituzione nel 1992. Anno del conferimento della laurea Honoris Causa a Pierro, essendo considerato tra i maggiori poeti della seconda metà del Novecento italiano e più volte candidato al Nobel per la Letteratura.

Il Parco Letterario

Quasi naturale, dunque, la fondazione del Parco Letterario Albino Pierro a Tursi, dopo aver impresso la forte relazione autore-paese natio nell’omaggio della denominazione ufficiale mutata in “Tursi Città di Pierro”, per promuoverne la memoria e le opere, il patrimonio storico e culturale, e la stessa sopravvivenza del dialetto, con l’organizzazione di eventi di livello, adeguate manifestazioni e coerenti visite guidate. Per il Vate tursitano, nato nella Rabatana, il più antico quartiere, caratterizzato dall’insediamento arabo-saraceno (850-930 circa), il paese è il “luogo dell’anima”, di certo il territorio che più di altri, nel suo spostarsi in vita, lo ha segnato e ispirato e dove ha voluto essere sepolto nel cimitero comunale.

The bond of the great poet Albino Pierro (Tursi, November 19, 1916 – Rome, march 23, 1995) with his and our “Land of the memory”, has been and still is intense, we would say indissoluble, for his poetics and because he has given a literary dignity to a language which did not exist before him, with the “conversion” to the lyricism of the tursitano dialect. A few years before the death of the poet, Stanislao Nievo had had the happy intuition of the Literary Parks, officially born in 1992, when a honorary degree was given to Pierro, regarded as one of the greatest poets of the second half of the Twentieth century Italian literature and on several occasions, Nobel Prize nominee. The Literary Park The obvious consequence has therefore been the creation of the Literary Park dedicated to Albino Pierro in Tursi, after recognising a very close relationship author-hometown paying a tribute to him, in the newly appointed “Tursi City of Pierro”, to promote his memory and poems, his historical and cultural heritage, and the survival of the dialect, with the organization of events in the level, appropriate events and consistent guided tours. For the poet, born in Rabatana, the oldest district of Tursi, characterized by the Arab-Saracen settlement (about 850-930), his hometown is the “place of the soul”, certainly the territory that more than others, in his continuous travelling , marked and inspired him, the place where he wanted to be buried in the municipal cemetery.
