L’école ZF Grand Prix profite de l’expérience acquise par le couple Zarco-Fellon pour mettre de jeunes talents sur orbite. Une idée enthousiasmante dont Furygan est partenaire, et l’opportunité pour Johann de transmettre le meilleur.

C’est une école dans laquelle on aurait tous aimé être inscrits ! Démarrer sur un Yamaha 50 PW et, saison après saison, franchir les étapes qui mènent en Grands Prix. « Il y a un examen d’entrée et chaque année doit être validée pour continuer l’aventure. L’école est accessible à tous, mais il faut se fondre dans le moule, prouver sa détermination », annonce Laurent Fellon, qui a endossé le costume du directeur à cheval sur les principes. Sa méthode ?

De l’entraînement intensif, surtout à moto, des gestes répétés à l’infini, de la constance dans l’effort et une volonté à toute épreuve. Sa manière de faire a porté ses fruits avec Johann Zarco, double champion du monde. Il applique la même avec son fils Lorenzo, 12 ans, lui aussi pilote Furygan et sur la bonne voie pour espérer un jour suivre la trajectoire de Johann.

40 ÉLÈVES PILOTES, DE 6 À 15 ANS L’école ZF Grand Prix, avec Johann Zarco dans le rôle du prof principal assisté par Sébastien Moreno, est ouverte aux jeunes pilotes de 6 à 15 ans, dans la limite d’une quarantaine de places. Dans un premier temps, les kids de 6-9 ans roulent sur leur PW 50. Moyennant 750 €, ils suivent 9 cours le samedi et peuvent tenter de se qualifier pour la course du dimanche. Dans ce cas, les PW sont fournis par Dubois Motos et tirés au sort pour garantir l’équité. L’évolution logique dans l’apprentissage, c’est le passage sur la ZFM 150 à châssis Kayo et moteur Yamaha (5 690 €, équipement inclus) accessible aux 9-15 ans, avec la possibilité de rouler en course (championnat catalan) et l’espoir d’intégrer un jour un team prestigieux du calibre d’Ajo Motorsport. Tout comme Johann Zarco, les pilotes ZF Grand Prix School sont protégés par Furygan, combinaison et gants ! Pour démarrer du bon pied, Dubois Motos à Nîmes propose un pack Yamaha PW 50 + combinaison et gants Furygan + casque + bottes à 2 890 €.

AIMING FOR EXCELLENCE The ZF Grand Prix School draws on the Zarco/Fellon duo’s track-tested experience to give talented young riders a head start. Furygan is backing this exciting new initiative, where Johann Zarco passes on his tricks of the trade.

It’s the school of any young rider’s dreams. Kids start out on a Yamaha 50 PW and then progress, season after season, to each new stage leading to the Grand Prix. ‘There’s an entrance exam, and they have to pass a test each year to continue their journey,’ explains director Laurent Fellon, who’s a stickler for rules. ‘Anybody can join, but students must be able to blend in and prove their determination.’ Laurent’s approach consists of high-intensity training (mostly on a motorcycle), with constant repetition until the kids have got every move down pat. He encourages them to put in consistent effort and develop the will to overcome any challenge. His methods have already borne fruit with two-time world champion Johann Zarco, and he teaches his 12-year-old son Lorenzo – also a Furygan rider, and already following in Johann’s footsteps – exactly the same way.

40 ROOKIES AGED 6 TO 15 The ZF Grand Prix School – where Johann Zarco is the head teacher, with back up from Sébastien Moreno – is open to riders aged 6 to 15, with a maximum of 40 students. 6-9-year olds start out riding their PW 50 bikes. The nine-weekend course costs €750: training sessions on the Saturday, followed by qualifying for a race on the Sunday. Dubois Motos in Nîmes supplies the PWs for the race, with a draw to allocate bikes so every rider starts the race on an equal footing.

The 9-15-year-olds then move on to a ZFM 150 with a Kayo chassis and Yamaha engine (price: €5,690, including equipment), with a chance to enter races like the Catalan Cup and the hope of one day joining a prestigious team like Ajo Motorsport. Like Johann Zarco, ZF Grand Prix School students wear Furygan protective gear and gloves. Dubois Motos has put together a special deal to start them off on the right foot: Yamaha PW 50 + Furygan suit + helmet + boots for €2,890.
