Love Your Lawn

It’s July—the heart of summer—and you know what that means: long days, warm nights, and outdoor fun with family and friends. But let’s be honest, none of that magic happens if your yard isn’t up to par. A patchy, dry lawn is no place for a picnic or a game of tag. If your yard sucks, your summer probably will too. That’s where Next Level Landscaping & Lawn Care comes in.

These guys do it all—design, installation, mowing, power washing, you name it. Their mission is simple: transform your outdoor space into the ultimate summer hangout. Imagine lush green grass, neatly edged flower beds, and a perfectly clean patio. The kind of yard where your kids want to run barefoot, where you can host weekend BBQs, or lay out a blanket for a sunny afternoon picnic.

We spent last Saturday grilling under twinkling lights while the kids played kickball on a yard so perfect it looked straight out of a magazine. And we didn’t lift a finger—Next Level took care of everything. They even power-washed the patio and walkways, making the whole space feel brand new.

If you're ready to take your summer to the next level (literally), call the pros who make it happen. Because summer fun isn’t just about the weather— it’s about where you spend it. And you deserve to spend it on a lawn that feels like a dream.

Next Level Landscaping & Lawn Care: For when "just a yard" isn’t enough.

FOOD for THOUGHT

Cheeseburger Bowls

Love cheeseburgers? Of course, you do! Now meet your new obsession: Cheeseburger Bowls. This recipe takes everything you love about a classic burger—juicy beef, melty cheese, and all the fixings—and piles it high over crispy golden fries. It’s bold, customizable, and downright addictive. Perfect for weeknights, game days, or DIY burger bars, these bowls let you build your own dream burger—no buns required.

Ingredients

1 (28-ounce) bag frozen oven fries

4 Tbsp. salted butter, melted

2 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary

1 lb. 80/20 ground beef

1 Tbsp. olive oil

1 Tbsp. steak seasoning

4 slices cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 tomato, diced

1 cup pickle slices

1/2 cup pickled jalapeños

Ketchup, mustard, and/or burger sauce, for drizzling

Directions

1. Bake the Fries:

Cook oveWn fries according to package instructions. When hot, toss with melted butter and rosemary for an herby kick.

2. Cook the Beef:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it into chunks. Sprinkle with steak seasoning and cook until browned and crispy on the edges, about 8–10 minutes.

3. Melt the Cheese:

Divide beef into four portions and top each with a slice of cheddar. Let melt in the pan or under a broiler for 1–2 minutes.

4. Assemble the Bowls:

Start with a base of crispy fries. Top with cheesy beef, then pile on lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeños, and anything else you crave.

5. Drizzle and Devour:

Finish with your favorite sauces—classic ketchup and mustard, or a creamy burger sauce.

Optional Add-Ons: Fried egg

Crispy bacon

Spoonful of chili

Caramelized onions

DeLarosa’s Summer Staycation

This summer, the DeLarosa family decided to try something different. No crowded airports, no endless road trips, and definitely, no yard work. Instead, they packed a couple of overnight bags and headed just across town to the Wyndham Garden Inn Fort Wayne—a staycation that promised all the fun of a vacation without any of the hassle.

From the moment they stepped into the cool, welcoming lobby, Megan DeLarosa felt like she could breathe again. The front desk staff greeted them with a smile, handing over room keys and pool towels like VIP passes. Their suite was spacious and cozy, complete with a jetted tub Megan couldn’t wait to sink into.

Their sons, JJ and Gavin, had only one thing on their minds: the pool. Within minutes, they were changed and darting toward the hotel’s indoor-outdoor pool, bursting with excitement. Matt DeLarosa followed, carrying a pool bag and grinning at their enthusiasm. He dropped into a lounge chair and stretched out under the sun.

“This is better than any trip we’ve taken,” Matt said, handing Megan a cool drink as she joined him poolside.

“No packing lunches, no long drives, and no chores,” Megan replied, watching the boys splash and laugh. “Just sunshine and someone else doing the cleaning.”

That evening, they dined at the hotel’s on-site restaurant—burgers, salads, and enough fries to keep JJ and Gavin smiling. Back in the room, they curled up for a movie night with free WiFi and snacks. While the boys watched from their beds, Megan slipped into the jetted tub, the stress of everyday life fading with each bubble.

Saturday started with the smell of waffles and fresh coffee at the complimentary breakfast. Megan squeezed in a quick workout in the fitness room, while Matt planned a fun-filled afternoon. They explored a nearby nature trail, visited furry friends at the local zoo, and even stopped at the Fort Wayne Firefighters Museum where JJ insisted he was going to be a firefighter one day.

Back at the hotel that evening, JJ and Gavin jumped back into the pool for one last swim. Megan and Matt relaxed nearby, their hands clasped, watching the golden sunlight dance across the water.

It was simple. It was affordable. It was perfect. No pool to maintain, no lawn to mow, no stress to manage. Just quality time and warm memories. Sunday came too fast. As they packed up, Megan turned to Matt and said, “This needs to be a tradition.”

This could be your family! Be like the DeLarosas… book a weekend at the Fort Wayne Wyndham Garden Inn. Towels included—memories guaranteed.

Cool Comfort

Summer in the Midwest can be a dream—sunshine, green lawns, and long days spent outside with family. But when the temperature climbs into the 90s, that same sunshine can turn your home into an oven. That’s where Zeigler's custom window coverings come in, helping you stay cool indoors while enjoying all the fun summer has to offer outdoors.

Energy efficiency means using the least amount of energy to achieve your goal—whether it's driving across town or keeping your living room at a comfortable temperature. And believe it or not, your choice of window coverings plays a big role in your home’s energy efficiency.

During the summer, uncovered windows act like magnifying glasses for heat, allowing cool air to escape and forcing your AC to work harder. But Zeigler offers innovative Hunter Douglas solutions that help seal in comfort and lower your utility bills.

Take Duette® Cellular Shades, for example. These shades are designed with honeycomb-shaped cells that trap air and create a layer of insulation at the window—keeping the heat out and your air conditioning in. Bonus: You may even qualify for a Federal Tax Credit of up to $1,200 when you choose select styles.

Or explore Vignette®

Roman Shades, which combine elegant design with energy-smart features, or the soft, curved design of Sonnette® Roller Shades, which diffuse light beautifully while reducing solar heat gain.

With Zeigler’s expert guidance, you can find the perfect blend of function and style to enhance your home’s comfort and efficiency. So while the kids are playing outside and the grill is fired up, you can rest easy knowing the inside of your home stays cool without overloading your AC—or your budget.

**Enjoy the summer sun, and let Zeigler help you escape the heat— efficiently. And when you stop in, tell Todd we sent you! **

PERSON OF THE MONTH

Hunter Prahl

This month, Fort Wayne Lifestyles proudly recognizes Hunter Prahl as our Person of the Month. A standout salesman at O’Daniel Jeep in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Hunter doesn’t just sell cars—he builds relationships.

I first met Hunter when I stopped by the dealership just to browse. From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with genuine warmth and attentiveness. Hunter carried himself with poise and professionalism well beyond his years. He was kind, knowledgeable, respectful—and refreshingly real.

What impressed me most was his ability to listen. In an industry often known for pushy tactics, Hunter was the exact opposite. He was patient, thoughtful, and clearly took pride in helping others find what they needed. It was clear that he’s not just selling vehicles—he’s serving people.

Beyond his sales skills, Hunter is a God-fearing Christian who isn’t shy about his values. He brings kindness and integrity into every interaction. He also happens to be a bit of a foodie, which made for some fun conversation along the way!

In a world that often rushes through customer service and overlooks the human side of business, Hunter Prahl stands out. He reminded me what it means to be treated with dignity, care, and respect. He made such a lasting impression that I couldn’t help but nominate him for this recognition.

This is not just a salesman. This is my friend—Hunter Prahl, Fort Wayne’s own car salesman extraordinaire.
