Becca Strange From the time I was a small child, I dreamed of being an artist. As a senior in high school, I teamed up with Nu expression for a design internship. Through lots of shadowing, I learned the basics of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and how to finalize all different kinds of print projects. My time there was very influential and eventually led to my decision to study Advertising and Graphic Design in college. After working first hand in a corporate design setting with real world experience, I decided not to waste any time and jumped right into the path of getting my Associate’s Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from Guilford Technical Community College. After I graduated from high school in the spring of 2011, I married my childhood best friend, Shane. I finished a yearlong internship as a graphic designer with the WinstonSalem Dash baseball team, prayed my way through a year-long deployment with my husband, and earned my Associate’s Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design, all before I was even 21 – now that is what I call multi-tasking! I completed my Associate’s Degree in July of 2013 and quickly became a designer for Le Bleu Water within two weeks of graduating. Although I had not worked for Nu expression since high school, I kept in touch by using Nu expression for various freelance printing jobs – they even printed my college portfolio! I couldn’t be more excited that Nu expression has welcomed me back to their team once more to expand my web development skills and creativity. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family, cuddling with my two cats, and trying new things!
Judy Sutherin Reinventing Business Club Membership at the Piedmont Club Judy Sutherin, Membership Director of the Piedmont Club, last year increased membership to a record 1,000 Members! The reason for this increase? “Simple,” says Judy. “We gave the Members what they want!” And what they wanted was the new ONE Membership that includes breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from the Chef’s Table and complimentary dining and golf at all the ClubCorp Associate Clubs around the country. Members of the Club also love the professional networking opportunities and all the social, cultural and family events, plus the use of private rooms for their special events. “We take our mission of ‘building relationships and enriching lives’ seriously. For our Members and their families, the Club has become their home away from home.” Next month, Judy will celebrate her 21st year at the Club. Prior to joining the Club, Judy served as Community Relations Officer of The Arts Council and before that was Public Relations Manager at Cunard Line in New York City. She met her husband, Joe, on the stage at St. Bartholomew’s, the only off Broadway theatre company producing the big musicals. Judy was the lead dancer in some of the old favorites… “Carousel,” “Oklahoma,” and “Brigadoon,” to name a few. In 1981, she and Joe and their two boys moved to Winston-Salem, which Judy says “is the best place of all!” If you’d like more information about the Piedmont Club, please contact Judy at 336-723-7818 or judy.sutherin@clubcorp.com. She’ll be happy to invite you to experience the Piedmont Club as her guest.
