When you combine the elegant styling of English antiquities with the modern functionality of furniture, you have a winning combination found at The Huntingdon Collection in Clemmons. Recently opened, the store is full of wonderful pieces that boast quality craftsmanship and encourage regular use for those with active lifestyles. Steve Copsey got his start in the furniture market back in the 1970s when he began purchasing antiques at a major auction house in London, England. “At one of the first auctions I attended, I was a successful bidder, and the auctioneer banged his gavel and said ‘Sold to Mr. Adams!’” Steve capitalized on the opportunity to use this name to his advantage, adopting “Adams,” a name synonymous with fine English furniture. He opened two stores called Adams Antiques and began creating reproduction furniture under the trading name of Adams Furniture. Eventually, his furniture business grew to the point that relocation to North Carolina only made sense. After all, High Point is the furniture capital of the world, and Steve has been based there since 2002. “I’ve witnessed a great change in the United States market in the last few years,” said Steve. “Today’s consumers are looking for more casual, rustic looks versus the more formal styles of yesteryear. Fortunately, this style plays to my strengths as a furniture designer!” Steve loves to design high-quality furniture that stays ahead of the curve and offers customers exactly what they want and need -- functionality and style. “My husband and I are in the process of moving and have been looking for a very specific type of table,” said Susan, a satisfied customer. “Steve and Chris were able to help us find just what we had in mind at a price we could afford. We were thrilled with the way we were able to customize our table and seating to be exactly what we wanted. And the guidance they gave us throughout

the process was exceptional!” Huntingdon Collection is a family owned business operated by Steve Copsey and his three sons. The business name honors the 18th-century style of furniture that originated in Huntingdon, England. While Steve’s business gives a nod to his native land, almost all the furniture he designs and sells is made in the Carolinas. “Our business strives to give every shopper a very personal shopping and design experience,” said Steve. “Our clients are diverse, both in style and budget, and we have worked hard to cater to individual needs. We have built relationships with furniture makers, fabric manufacturers and upholsterers, enabling us to create customized pieces and pass the savings along to our customers.” “While our showrooms have consistently had great traffic,” said Steve, “we have ventured further out to meet the demands of the ever-changing market. As residents of Clemmons for the past 15 years, we have seen a huge growth in this quiet community! When an opportunity to open a store in Clemmons arose, I thought it was a perfect time to establish ourselves in our own neighborhood.” The new Clemmons showroom is a perfect complement to the lifestyle of Clemmons residents and convenient for those in Winston-Salem and the surrounding area. “This is our home,” said Steve. “It is an honor to offer the home décor and accessories in which we take such pride to those who are our neighbors and friends.” Visit Huntingdon Collection at 2550 Lewisville-Clemmons Road in Clemmons, or call 336.893.5320.
