INSIDE THE EFL JUNIORS 2018 Junior Girls Grand Finals On behalf of AFL Yarra Ranges Region General Manager Aaron Bailey and myself, welcome to Grand Final Day for the Eastern Region Girls Competition. This year saw a record 110 teams split across 15 competitions, with 83 teams Phil Murton coming from EFL clubs and 27 EFL Chief Executive Officer from AFL Yarra Ranges clubs. With a full suite of age levels now on offer and multiple divisions in every age group, there is somewhere for everyone to play. The pathway for girls is growing every year with the Eastern Region Women’s Competition expanding this season to 18 clubs across two divisions. With lots of clubs with top age under 18 teams and plenty of interest in establishing new senior women’s teams, we expect to have over 30 team’s in 2019, so the competition will likely expand to three or even four divisions. It’s amazing to think how far female footy in the East has come in such a short time. The talent programs continue to grow with our interleague girls performing very well, with 56 girls selected to represent the ERGFL in Division 1 and Division 2 of the Metro Championships. Our Division 1 side won all 4 games played, including the Grand Final, while our Division 2 side won 2 out of 3 games played. Our regions TAC Cup Girls teams, the Eastern Ranges and Oakleigh Chargers, both had terrific seasons, with Emerson Woods, Charlotte Wilson, Sarah Kendall, Mikala Cann and Georgia Macpherson, having the opportunity of playing for Victoria and a chance of being drafted into the AFLW. As has been the case with the boys, we are confident the East & Ranges will prove a strong breeding ground for future AFLW stars. Apart from those on the field, there has been a huge contribution from coaches, team managers and club officials, along with the mums, dads and carers that support their children. As a parent of young boys this year coaching an under 9 team myself, I understand all too well the time and effort given by parents

everywhere to help their kids be involved in sport. To all involved we say a big thank you and trust your experience in local AFL Yarra Ranges and EFL footy this year has been a positive one. Along with the players, it’s also an important day for the umpires who will be involved in the game. They train, attend lectures and are a part of structured programs that encourages them to be the best that they can be. They too have reached a goal of their own and for that we offer them our congratulations on their achievements and hope they continue with their umpiring into the future. As you watch the games this weekend, remember these are young men and women who, like your kids that are playing, are learning their craft also. Thank you also to the host clubs of our junior finals series. Hosting finals at independent venues is an important part of any competition and with a competition of our size, it is a difficult task that could not be completed without the help and support of both EFL and AFL YR clubs. The hospitality shown by host clubs this year has been excellent. In closing I would like to acknowledge the work of the Junior Committees of both AFL YR and the EFL. AFL Yarra Ranges Junior Committee has been wonderfully led by Junior Coordinator Andy Gibbons, who this year made the transition from the AFL Yarra Ranges Commission to the staff. He has been admirably supported by Russell English, Maxine Armstrong, Nan Cleven, Ray Fellows and Mal Darke. The EFL Junior Committee is led by Chairman Leon Bailey and is made up of Ian Singleton, Mark Pascoe, Phil Hermann and Bernard Fewster. They give wonderful service to the league, attending junior games every Sunday, liaising with clubs and ensuring the standards we are all so proud of continue to be upheld. A big thank you also to our Female Competitions Coordinator Jessie Mulholland, who has done a great job managing the competition, ably supported by EFL Junior Manager Dyson Baker and AFL YR Operations Manager Cameron Hutchison. Good luck to all teams today and remember, whether a player, official or supporter, barrack hard and loud but and make sure you represent your club in a manner which does everyone proud.

T

HE Wantirna South Junior Club was awarded with the EFL’s best conducted junior club award in 2017 at the presentation evening after a tough year off the field. At the beginning of this season they introduced their junior girls football program, and welcomed an under-12 girls’ team with Rhonda McMillian as coach. The junior club president, Kevin Van Grondelle, has been pleased with the way the Wantirna South community has welcomed the girls and Rhonda. “It’s been really good. The biggest thing that I’ve seen is where there are girls who have got brothers playing at the club, therefore now it’s been able to give the whole family an experience,” he said. “The dads, some of our coaches have all been able to get involved, help out and give their knowledge. Everybody has really embraced having the girls’ team and it just gives us a different dimension.” “It makes everyone think about football from a different lens, which is really good.” As the junior club is somewhat separate from the senior club, Van Grondelle is looking forward to eventually being able to create that pathway for his junior girls to move on to play senior women’s. “We do have a strategy about growing our junior club numbers first. We have to get the structure right,” he said. “It’s no different between the girls and the boys, our whole strategy and philosophy is about creating pathways so that kids keep playing football as they get older.” “We’ve done a lot of work with the senior club for the boy’s level and as we grow our girls’ teams then definitely we would expect the same things to happen for the girl’s level. You know, we want to give the girls opportunities to be able to go on and play senior football.” “We’ve had preliminary conversations of what it might like look, but you know we’re a little www.efl.org.au

bit short of getting there yet but I’d like to think in ex number of years’ time we will be able to do it.” With the appointment of their girls’ team coach in Rhonda McMillan, it made sense as to why Wantirna South brought her into the club. She had previously been involved with the girls AusKick program. McMillan is a physical education teacher so her natural ability to teach has proved a strong asset with her coaching role. “Anybody who takes on coaching to start with is taking on a responsibility and in her world, she is starting from scratch with girls, and at that point in time I don’t think we had any girls who have played football at all,” Van Grondelle said. “Her ability to get 22 girls from varied backgrounds, different shapes and side and stuff to be able to get onto the field and understand what they’ve got to do and then by the end of the season, being competitive and winning games of football.” “I don’t think there would be too many other coaches around that would be able to do that.” The club implements its own coaching program so like anyone else, McMillan went through the process which has helped her settle into her coaching role with Wantirna South Junior. Club. “For a start we’ve got a coaching program in place regardless, for all our coaches no matter what team they coach whether it’s under 8’s, under 17’s or girls. So, Rhonda was brought into that program and that awarded her with all the relevant coaching stuff,” Van Grondelle said. “She’s just really structured and organised. She certainly hasn’t over complicated things which is quite good for the girls because they’re new and learning but she’s very smart and articulate and on top of that, she wants to learn.” 5

COACH OF THE MONTH – JULY Auskick Coach – Daniel Jordanov (Ringwood Auskick) Daniel is the coach of the all-girls group at Ringwood. He is a current senior player who has committed to the development of the juniors at the club. He is a fantastic coach which has been evident in the massive improvement of the girls over the season. One of Daniel’s strengths is his ability to recognise each girl’s level of skill, select appropriate activities to allow fun and at times challenge them improve their skills Daniel demonstrates excellent preparation and communicates well with all parent helpers. Daniel has had a massive impact on Ringwood Auskick this year. With over 30 girls registered this season, it is a significant improvement on 2017. The Ringwood Football Club is extremely lucky to a senior player commit to a full season of Auskick. The parents are full of praise and continue to comment on the way Daniel has looked after the girls this year. As for our girls, it is obvious the girls enjoy his coaching.

Junior Coach – Brad Crossland (Croydon) Under-10 While Brad has a lifetime of football experience after several decades playing suburban football (he’s still playing super rules today), he has perfectly targeted the right mix of skill development, discipline and fun befitting under-10 level kids. Brad provides simple, clear, calm and consistent messages, and also gets the kids input (asks questions about the right/wrong way to go about things). This approach gets ‘buy in’ from the kids, and enabled them to quickly develop their skills and understanding of the game football without confusion from mixed messages. I don’t think he knows how to raise his voice. Brad regularly uses different activities and games that make skill development fun - this approach, which makes kids more engaged, has fast tracked the development of the simple skills such as tackling, shepherding, sharing the footy with teammates (regardless of ability).

Youth Coach – Kevin Tymensen (Norwood) Under-9 Kevin’s strong knowledge of the game and the rules within the game have enabled him to coach the children for now, and for the future. Kevin is very clear and I believe he shows respect for the players in the way he communicates with them. Rather than talk to them like children, he talks to them like footballers and they have developed a great understanding of the game under his coaching. He is consistent with his message and reinforces this through positive reinforcement, training and some repetition until the players have got the message. www.efl.org.au

Kevin is very focused on the skill development at training and focuses on key skill areas at training, and then supports the players to implement those skills during the game. This has been incredibly effective with all players developing well throughout the year.

Junior Coach – Rhonda McMillan (Wantirna South JFC) Under-12 Girls Rhonda was previously involved in the girls Auskick program and assisted the girls transition from Auskick to junior football and took on the under-12 girls team. Rhonda did a fantastic job to keep the team together when they only were getting two or three players to training. Instilled a belief in the girls that the team would get there and on the eve of round one they picked up the six to eight players needed to get a team up. Rhonda has drawn her excellent communication skills from her teaching background and has built good relationships with the girls.

Senior Coach – Brett Rowe (Ringwood) Brett has a distinguished playing career, drafted to Fitzroy and played majority of his football at Box Hill. He has had success as an assistant coach in a senior premiership for Ringwood in 2005. In 2018 in his role at Ringwood he has demonstrated a strong understanding of the game and has been able to mix his past experiences with modern day techniques. Brett’s communication is first class and he delivers his messages as more of a teacher than a coach. He has an open-door policy with everyone at the club and is extremely approachable. Brett has made our club mantra ‘the little things’. He is a big believer in doing the little things well and I think it’s a big part of why Ringwood are undefeated. He teaches skills through repetition and challenges the players to put themselves under pressure at training, so they are prepared for game days. Brett is universally loved at the club, from the players to the committee and everyone in between. He has made a strong focus on being ‘one club’ and shows everyone the same amount of respect which is why he gains so much back.

Senior Coach – John Hayhurst (The Basin) Women’s John has been involved in coaching for over 20 years and has successfully implemented modern coaching techniques as well as some traditional methods. John took on a playing group that only a handful of players having played before. John has excellent communication skills and has the strong ability to break down football and alter the message to best suit a player whether she is new to the game or an experienced player. Training has been excellent with each player showing improvement on their technique and skills. John is well-respected by all players, officials and opponents. 7

CLASS OF 2018 By: Daniel Cencic Twitter: @DC_EFL

M

EET the Eastern Ranges TAC Cup Girls class of 2018.

In the coming months, any one of the girls may have their dreams realised as they look ahead to this year’s AFLW National Draft. As it stands, Emerson Woods, Charlotte Wilson and Mikayla Cann are headed for the national draft combine, where they will be put through their paces ahead of October’s draft. The following Eastern Ranges TAC Cup girls represented Vic Metro in the AFL Women’s Under-18 Championships this year. Eastern Ranges TAC Cup Girls and Vic Metro coach Tom Humphrey gives us a glimpse of each prospect ahead of this year’s combine and draft. EMERSON WOODS – CLUB: Mount Evelyn; HEIGHT: 171cm; DOB: 12/7/2000 Tom Humphrey: An outside running player, highly skilled. Plays wing/half-forward. A goalkicker, she’s a great kid and a massive chance to be drafted – she’s an AFL Academy player, played all four games for Vic Metro this year and five at Box Hill. MIKALA CANN – CLUB: Blackburn; 173cm; 4/11/2000 TH: Mikala comes from a basketball background and played her first year of competitive football this year. She still hasn’t played a club game of footy so she played all nine games at Eastern Ranges and three games for Vic Metro; she was injured in one of them and has played three at Box Hill. Mikayla’s an inside mid, super hard, and a tackling machine. GEORGIA MCPHERSON – CLUB: Chirnside Park; 173cm; 21/2/2000 TH: Georgia plays across half-back and is probably the best intercept mark in the TAC competition. A high chance to be drafted. She’s a Chirnside Park girl and as the AFL is, there’s not too many players that’s got what she’s got with the intercept marking. Clearly the best in the competition at reading the ball off the boot. LAURA MCLELLAND – CLUB: Ferntree Gully; 175cm; 3/7/2001 TH: Laura’s still got another year with us; again, I know it’s a bit biased coming from her Eastern coach but she’ll probably be in the top five next year in the draft. Her competitive instincts are unbelievable – she’s just ferocious. Her contested marking is probably second-to-none in the comp; there’s probably only a couple of other girls that take marks like her. Very much in the mould of Izzy Huntington who went number-one for the Western Bulldogs – a very similar player. SARAH KENDALL – CLUB: Knox; 178cm; 8/1/2000 TH: Sarah played in the ruck for us at Eastern and at Vic Metro – she had an outstanding year. She’d go close to being in the team of the year for the TAC Cup and so would Emeron Woods, Georgia McPherson, Mikayla Cann and Laura McLelland all in that boat. Sarah’s work-rate and effort are outstanding; she’s got room for improvement but her effort around the ground and her coachability is outstanding.

16

The Eastern Footballer - EFL Junior Finals 2018

CLASS OF 2018 CHARLOTTE WILSON – CLUB: Ferntree Gully; 177cm; 29/12/2000 TH: Charlotte is our co-captain with Emerson Woods. Charlotte’s one of my favourites; she brings probably as a defender she gives absolutely everything she’s got and she was one of the captains at Vic Metro as well. She’s playing at St.Kilda in the VFL at the moment. When people talk about recruiting and you ask them what they look for they always mention character; I’ve been coaching for 30 years and she’s one of the best in that regard that I’ve ever coached. GABBI DE ANGELIS – CLUB: Whitehorse Colts; 155cm; 17/11/2000 TH: Gabbi is a small forward/inside midfielder and half-forward. She’s playing for the Southern Saints and has played six games down there; has also played Vic Metro and is a great little player that’s a chance to be drafted but I think her massive chance will be next year when the other teams enter the AFLW. Gabbi is just a great player – she does everything right as a small forward and sometimes that’s the hardest position to play. LAUREN SZIGETI – CLUB: Diamond Creek; 162cm; 28/2/2000 TH: Lauren won our best and fairest this year. She plays across half-back and possibly one of the best kicks in the competition; she’s just got a cannon for a leg. Her ability to pick the right options and pick the best one is uncanny, and had a really good metro carnival and played all four games. Lauren is playing at Darebin in the VWFL and she’s going really well; draftable next year maybe but she’s got a lot of attributes that’ll get her drafted. PHOTO CREDIT: Valeriu Campan

FINAL WORD Tom Humphrey: This is my third year with the girls at Eastern and I was with the boys for four years. I’ve been lucky to be involved in adults being drafted via the EFL as well – that is the best thing about the Eastern program – it’s purely development. Wins and losses don’t matter overly – you just want the players to be in the best possible position to be drafted. That’s the best feeling when you see Tom Boyd or Mitch Honeychurch and Daniel McStay running around when you’ve had a lot to do with in their junior careers. To see them play AFL is, it gives you a great buzz. www.efl.org.au

The Eastern Footballer - EFL Junior Finals 2018

GRAND FINAL PREVIEW – UNDER-14 UNDER-14 PREMIER Minor premier Mount Evelyn takes on fourth-placed South Belgrave/Lysterfield after the pair turned on classics in Round 5 and 12 of the home and away season, with a combined total of just five points separating the sides at the final siren – Mount Evelyn’s way. It has been a remarkable run for South Belgrave/Lysterfield into the big dance, coming from fourth with five wins for the season, surviving an elimination and semi-final before defeating Blackburn by nine points last weekend in the preliminary final. Conversely, Mount Evelyn won straight through to the grand final with a 23-point win over Blackburn in the second semi-final.

UNDER-14 DIVISION 1 Second-placed The Basin caused an upset for the ages two weeks ago when it defeated minor premier Mitcham in the second semi-final by 20 points. Today will be the fourth time the two sides meet this year, with Mitcham winning two of them in the home and away season before The Basin turned the tables to win through to today’s decider. The Tigers however bounced back last week in the preliminary final, defeating Donvale by 28 points last week. Time will tell whether or not the week off has been of benefit to the Bears, in stark contrast to the Tigers playing three finals in a row.

UNDER-14 DIVISION 2 Finishing two games clear atop of the ladder, East Ringwood heads into today’s grand final as favourite against Lilydale, whom finished in second on 10 wins. The pair last met in the second semi-final where it was the Roos prevailing by 17 points to progress through to the decider, while Lilydale held on by four points against the Glen Waverley Rovers in last week’s preliminary final. Head to head this season, the Roos and Falcons have played three times this season with the Roos winning two of the encounters. Remarkably, both sides enjoyed respective victories over each other by just two points during the home and away season, setting the stage for a cracking grand final today.

UNDER-14 YARRA RANGES – PRELIMINARY FINAL A spot in the grand final against Yarra Glen awaits the winner of today’s preliminary final between Worawa and Monbulk. These sides last met in Round 12 of the home and away season, where it was Worawa in a canter by 38 points. Worawa finished third on the ladder at the conclusion of the home and away season, while Monbulk finished in second position. Head to head this season, it’s one apiece with both sides tasting victory over each other during the season.

The Eastern Footballer - EFL Junior Finals 2018

INTERLEAGUE By: Jessie Mulholland

T

he 2018 Metro Junior Championships is an interleague representative competition which give U15 Youth Girls players the opportunity to represent their League in a monthlong Championships. This year the Eastern Region Girls entered two squads in the Division 1 and Division 2, respectively. Preparation started back in September when our first trails were held. 80+ players from both the Eastern Football League and AFL Yarra Ranges were invited to trial and showcase their skills prior to the list being finalised with 56 on the lists in March. This season, to make the most of the limited time we had available, the league invested into a 2-day training camp held at Rowville Sports Academy. The camp was a chance for coaches to get to know players and furthermore start to develop a range of skills that will assist them in not only preparing at interleague level but also in their club football as well. Engaging sessions with both tackling coach Mal Bangs as well as the team from RISE high performance set the tone early on day one. Coaches were given ample time with players to begin to run through both theory and practical game plans and tactics as well as skills sessions. Round 1 of the Metro Champs had both teams play at Upwey Tecoma Football Club in the rain against South Metro. Our Division 2 side came out with the win by 45 points with Bethany Fielding kicking 3 goals. Our Division 1 side also showed our strong our League is with a 48-point win with 6 www.efl.org.au

different goal scorers. Estelle Peterson and Tess Flintoff were awarded our Best on Grounds. Round 2 saw the teams separated as our Div 1 side played Yarra Junior Football League and our Div 2 side played against Essendon District. Division 1 again proved to be too strong to win by 12 points, whereas our Div 2 team played against an extremely talented opponent and lost by 119 points. Shanelle Roderick and Jade McCormack were awarded our Best on Grounds. Our final Round saw both teams play the Northern Football League at East Ringwood where our Div 2 side finished with a hard fought win by 11 points and our Div 1 side also winning by 31 points with Claire Bould and Bridget Deed kicking two goals each, taking us into the Grand Final. Bethany Fielding and Ruby O’Dwyer were awarded our Best on Grounds. On the 23rd June the Eastern Region Girls Football League played against the Northern Football League in the Grand Final. By Half Time the scores recorded: ERGFL 5.5 35 V NFL 0.0 0 Keeping our opposition almost scoreless, the end result was 5.14 44 def. 0.3 3 Tess Flintoff was awarded our Best on Ground on the day. Our 2018 Interleague Program was a huge success, proving that the Eastern Region Girls Football League is full of young talent. Thank you to all staff, players and parents who were apart of this Program. 27

GRAND FINAL PREVIEW – UNDER-16 UNDER-16 PREMIER Minor premier Blackburn is looking to complete the perfect season today as it lines up against Montrose, who finished in third position at the conclusion of the home and away season. The two sides last met in the second semi-final as the Panthers won by 36 points. Meanwhile, Montrose survived a scare from Ferntree Gully last weekend in the preliminary final, winning by two points. Renee Tierney has booted 26 goals for Blackburn this season, while Montrose’s Eliza Bentley has been prolific up forward. Blackburn has won both clashes between the two this season.

UNDER-16 DIVISION 1 The two best sides of their respective division go head to head again today for the ultimate prize, with East Ringwood Blue taking on Vermont. The pair last met in the second semifinal where it was East Ringwood Blue taking the honours by 24 points to win straight through to today’s decider. The loss for Vermont set up a date with Yarra Glen in the preliminary final, which the Eagles won comfortably by 24 points. Head to head this season, the Roos have won two of the three matches played against the Eagles.

UNDER-16 DIVISION 2 Just four points separated Upper Ferntree Gully and the Glen Waverley Rovers a fortnight ago in the second semi-final, with the Kings winning straight through to today’s grand final. The Rovers finished a game clear in first position at the end of the home and away season, while the Kings finished in second. Look out for the Rovers’ Charlotte Durbridge who has booted 31 goals for the season, along with Upper Ferntree Gully’s Charlotte Baird has 21. Upper Ferntree Gully has won two of the three matches played against Glen Waverley Rovers this year.

UNDER-16 YARRA RANGES – PRELIMINARY FINAL A spot in the grand final is up for grabs today as Healesville takes on Upwey Tecoma in the preliminary final. It is the first match-up between the two since Round 12 of the home and away season, where Healesville won by 35 points. Last week, Upwey Tecoma defeated Worawa by 29 points in the second semi-final while Healesville lost by 43 points to Seville, who awaits today’s winner in next week’s grand final.

EASTERN RANGES TAC CUP GIRLS 2018 SEASON REVIEW By: Jessie Mulholland

T

he Eastern Ranges TAC Cup Girls Program started in November with 70 girls invited into Pre-Christmas Training where we finished the year with a Christmas-themed training session. Post-Christmas, 50 girls returned which consisted of both our Futures and TAC Cup Girls Squads. Leading into Round 1 we played two practice matches against Calder Cannons and Oakleigh Chargers. Our Season started on March 3rd against GWV Rebels in Beaconsfield for a Triple Header where we had our first win by 19 points. Round 2 saw another win against Dandenong Stingrays by 39 points. We played Oakleigh Chargers in Round 3, where Laura McClelland showed her goal kicking abilities, kicking 4 of our 6 goals for our third win of the year. The Round 4 Easter break saw us heading to Bendigo to play the Pioneers in a double header with both our Futures and TAC Cup Squads. The Futures squad displayed incredible young talent winning by 103 points. The Futures side inspired our TAC Cup squad to win by 17 points. Round 5 saw our first loss against Williamstown where after a hard-fought game, we lost by 5 points. Round 6 against Geelong was another Futures and TAC double header where our Futures won by 40 points and our TAC Squad lost by 31 points. A home game in Round 7 saw us at Healesville against Gippsland Power for another win by 9 points. In Round 8 we played Murray Bushrangers in Oakleigh in our best team effort for the year where we had all 7 goals kicked by different players for a 46-point win. Our last Round saw our third loss for the season in heavy rain against the Calder Cannons by 24 points. Following our season, 12 Graduating Eastern Ranges players have either been listed or played with VFLW Clubs including; Hawthorn, St Kilda Saints, Darebin Falcons, Richmond. Tarni Brown, Jess Grace, Mietta Kendall and Olivia Meagher were named in the U16 Vic Metro Squad who travelled to Horsham to play against South Australia and to Geelong where they played Vic Country. Mikala Cann, Gabriella DeAngelis, Sarah Kendall, Georgia Macpherson, Laura McClelland, Jenna Richardson, Lauren Szigeti, Charlotte Wilson and Emerson Woods were selected in the U18 Vic Metro Squad who played in Geelong against Vic Country. Tom Humphrey was also selected to Coach the squad. They also travelled to the Gold Coast for the U18 AFLW National Championships. At the conclusion of the Championships, Mikala Cann, Georgia Macpherson and Emerson Woods were named in the All Australian Squad who will be playing in Adelaide on the 31st August. The Eastern Footballer - EFL Junior Finals 2018

GRAND FINAL PREVIEW – UNDER-18 UNDER-18 PREMIER Donvale finished on top of the 18 Premier ladder comfortably by two games, having lost just one match for the season. Meanwhile, Mount Evelyn finished in second position with nine wins, two losses and a draw. The two sides meet for the second time in a fortnight after Donvale won by 26 points in the second semi-final. Head to head this season, Donvale and Mount Evelyn have met three times, with the Magpies taking a 2-1 advantage into today’s decider – Mount Evelyn’s only victory over today’s opponent came in Round 3 when just six points separated the two at the final siren. Donvale’s Jasmine D’Amato will be looking to continue her blistering form today, having kicked 32 goals for the season so far, while teammate Caitlin Humm has kicked 26. Meanwhile, Mount Evelyn’s Lilly Kelly has booted 10 majors for the season and has been named in the best on three occasions, followed by Holly Wells with seven goals to her name in 2018. The stage is set for the two best sides of 2018.

UNDER-18 DIVISION 1 Vermont and The Basin match-up for the first time since Round 14 of the home and away season; on that day it was The Basin recording a comfortable 26-point win. Vermont finished second on the ladder at the conclusion of the home and away season, while The Basin finished fourth; with just one win separating the pair. Vermont has enjoyed the week off after defeating Norwood by 21 points in the semi-final to progress through to the grand final, while The Basin has had to play an extra week; overcoming Norwood by 24 points in the preliminary final last weekend. Overall, the duo has met twice this season with Vermont winning both clashes, including a 19-point victory in Round 7. Leading the charge this year for the Eagles has been Gemma Martucci, slotting 32 majors, while The Basin’s Shae Collard has been prolific up forward with 20 goals to date.
