Tina Madden Tina Madden has been part of Catholic Care of the Aged community for 13 years. We have a quick chat to Tina and find out all about CCA Village’s and why residents love living there. Tell us a bit about yourself and your role within the CCA community? I am the Village Manager/ Resident Support Coordinator/Sales & Marketing Manager for Catholic Care of the Aged. I bring a wealth of customer service experience to the CCA management team. My role includes selling the Self Care units and overseeing all the refurbishments that need to happen in consultation with the incoming residents. Our Management team always consult with the incoming resident. My role also includes the day to day management and running of the village. Our organisation philosophy is that all residents are individuals and that their needs are foremost in our care. I love finding innovative ways to assist the residents along their life’s journey in the village. How long have you worked there and what do you love about your job? I joined CCA in 2001 as the Volunteers Coordinator then soon after moved into the role of Village Manager in 2003.In 2010 I took on the role as Sales & Marketing Manager. The best thing I love about my job is I get to travel a wonderful journey with all the residents who live in the village. We become part of their lives and they become like our family. We all who work here learn so much from all the residents and it is a privilege to be part of that. Who is eligible to move into a village like the one at CCA? Anybody who is over the age of 55 is eligible as long as their care needs are suitable to live independently. St Agnes and Lourdes villages represent the first stage of CCA’s aged care program, which also includes six aged cared facilities together with Community Care and a Resident Support service to the units. The villages allow people to maintain

for those who are looking at making the move either now or in the further? The overwhelming reasons people choose CCA has been determined as the excellent reputation CCA has for delivering exceptional service across all levels of care. Combined with the provision of ongoing care, this allows residents to be able to move seamlessly through the different levels of care that may be required. My advice to people is really look into what a Retirement Village has to offer them and whether they offer the ongoing care. Move into independent living when you are younger as it gives you the freedom from building and garden maintenance, a sense of security and access to great facilities as well as the peace of mind that care is available if you need it. Do what you want to do as you age without the constraints of maintenance of a house. That is to Celebrate Life! Is there anything else you would like to add? CCA have two villages in Port Macquarie. St Agnes Village consisting of 140 units is located off Ocean drive, opposite the Greenmeadows Medical Centre. The village is set amongst exquisite gardens and has access to further education with U3A moving its headquarters to the village. Lourdes Village consisting of 68 units is centrally located less than 1 kilometre from the CBD and is set amongst a leafy background. CCA is currently constructing six stylish new units which will be unique to
