What specific qualifications and experience do you have in your field of practice? I moved to Australia from Canada to study medicine at the University of Sydney. I was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2011 and completed hospital training at Nepean Hospital in Penrith, NSW. After a few years working in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery, I entered general practice training on the North Coast and achieved Fellowship with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018. I am an active member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and I currently hold a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. I am passionate about early detection of skin cancers and enjoy collaborating with my patients to implement treatments that are safe, effective and discreet.

How do you like to spend your time out of work? Since relocating to Port Macquarie in 2016, my wife and I have fallen in love with the land and people. We look forward to raising our family here and actively contributing to the community for years to come. When I’m not working or studying, I’ll either be playing the bagpipes (poorly), reading too many books at the same time, or trying to defy gravity in my garage gym. What have been some notable achievements in your career to date? I’ll never forget the first melanoma that I detected as a GP registrar. It was a subtle skin lesion found on a routine check, but thanks to my additional training in skin cancer it was diagnosed early and fully cured. The patient was a stoic young man with a young family. He wept and thanked me for saving his life.
