PORT MACQUARIE PHYSIO & PILATES Port Macquarie Physio & Pilates has been established in its central Murray Street location for four years now and recently expanded to include a practice at the Lake Innes Shopping Village. Another new feature of our practice is offering Pilates on Saturday mornings at Murray Street. The owners, Kathy Lawrence and Catherine McLean, are thrilled with the addition of Lake Innes and with the area expanding, it will only grow with the years to come. “Physiotherapy is such a wonderful profession,” says Catherine. “It involves helping people in pain for all types of conditions, from acute to chronic. We treat neck, back, knees and shoulders, arthritic pain, post surgical, rehab, children, women’s health and more. We have a lovely team of physios and staff with their
own specialty areas. The existing team of Kathy Lawrence, Catherine McLean, Steve Ryan, Carly Groves and Natasha Hamblin have recently been joined by Sue Campbell, a very experienced physiotherapist, bringing her wealth of skill and knowledge to our Lake Innes practice. We are so excited to have her join us.” Port Macquarie Physio & Pilates utilises the Clinical Pilates approach in the patients’ rehab which can be used for both acute injuries as treatment and exercise for injury management. “All our patients go home with an exercise programme,” says Kathy Lawrence. “But utilising clinical pilates we can monitor the injury progress until 100% and then feel satisfied we have done our job thoroughly and the patient is less likely to re-injure.”
PORT MACQUARIE X-RAY Port Macquarie X-Ray was established in 2012 to develop a new and exciting independently owned and managed comprehensive Radiology practice based locally in the Port Macquarie area. We have two premises. Our purpose built practice at 65 Lord St, Port Macquarie, and our newly opened rooms at 38 Clifton Drive, Port Macquarie. At Lord St we offer comprehensive services including 3T MRI (with Medicare rebate), Digital OPG, Digital X-Ray, DEXA, Ultrasound, CT and Interventional Procedures. We also provide digital X-ray services for your convenience at 38 Clifton Drive.
Our two radiologists, Dr. Bob Marshall and Dr. Kim Nolan, both live locally and are part of the Port Macquarie community. We have appointments available every day, and bulk billing is available for many Medicare eligible examinations. Our state of the art 3T MR is the only one in the region, and a large number of GP ordered MRI examinations are now eligible for a Medicare rebate. We have four Ultrasound rooms, with appointments available for most tests on the day. DEXA Bone Densitometry appointments are also available most days.
