Verto's Australian apprenticeships centre VERTO’s Australian Apprenticeships Centre Area Manager, Gabby Barlow, is encouraging employers wishing to commence an apprentice or trainee in 2015 to book an appointment as soon as possible with one of their highly trained consultants.

“We visit the employer’s workplace and discuss government incentives, employer and apprentice roles and responsibilities and complete all the required paperwork”. VERTO also provides advice regarding the establishment of school based traineeships and apprenticeships.

“We’ve found in previous years it can be disappointing for apprentices or trainees to miss their first few weeks at TAFE or training simply because their paperwork wasn’t completed in time to get started,” Ms Barlow said.

Mr Ron Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer of VERTO said we are proud to also offer employment services and disability employment services in Port Macquarie. Our services work collaboratively to offer a streamlined service to local employers.

VERTO is a not-for-profit community owned organisation with extensive local knowledge and years of experience in assisting employers with enquiries and commencements. “Our job is to make the process easy for employers,” says Toni Wailes, Apprenticeships Consultant for VERTO in Port Macquarie.

Individuals may be entitled to government subsidised training through apprenticeships and traineeships under the NSW Government’s new Smart and Skilled program. Employers may also receive up to $5,000 through the Australian Apprenticeships Program to offset training costs.
