What are your roles? Denise is House with No Steps Area Manager for the New England and North West regions of NSW, and Lea McMillan is Support Manager for the New England region.
What do you like about what you do? We love being part of people’s life journey. It’s wonderful seeing an individual become more independent and more involved and connected with their community.

How long have you been in the industry? Denise has been working in disability services for over 30 years now. She started in the 1980s as a support worker and has worked in a number of different positions to get to where she is today. Lea is a bit newer to the industry and has been working in disability services for five years so far.
What make HWNS unique? At House with No Steps we focus on an individual and their interests and goals, working in partnership with them and their family. We also work closely with other providers, disability and mainstream, to provide the best supports available for a person - even if this means HWNS will not necessarily provide the support.
