Reconnect with What Brings You Joy!
Reconnecting with what brings your soul joy is a healthy and important way to remain engaged and connected. When you serve from a filled cup, you can serve more with gratitude and zeal. Finding joy each day is not an emotion, but a decision. When you wake up each day, you may be faced with many situations and circumstances that attempt to steal your joy. For instance, a misunderstanding, a rude driver, an aggressive co-worker, an unruly child, or an abrupt change of your plans. I often find myself letting a minor occurrence rub me so much the wrong way that I remain upset about it for the rest of the day.
Thankfully, God has shown me it’s not healthy and fruitful to allow my emotions to dictate my state of mind and outlook. He desires for me to seek the “joy of the Lord,” Nehemiah 8:10.
When your emotions consume you, you are allowing yourself to remain frustrated, exhausted, and generally not at peace. That’s why finding your joyful place is a daily commitment, where you make a conscious decision to let God be your peace and anchor every day.

Blessings in Jesus’ Name, Minister Waveney Arthur, Adult Superintendent, Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple, Department of Christian Education
Praise the Lord, and Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
We stand today as living testimonies of His goodness, His faithfulness, and His unchanging love. No matter what we’ve been through, we are still here, clothed in grace, covered by mercy, and strengthened by the Word for the journey ahead.
Let this be a reminder of the power of God’s Word! Walk boldly, stand firmly, pray fervently, and above all, love deeply. We are a people of resilience, a people of power, and a people of faith. We have come too far to turn back now. We have prayed too long to doubt now. We have endured too much to give up now. Hold fast to His promises, trust His timing, keep your eyes on Him, and He will order your steps.
Let’s keep pressing, keep believing, keep praising, and most of all keep reading and studying the Word of God to show ourselves approved, for the best is yet to come!
Sincerely,
Sister Viola Kitchen Director of Christian Education

Greater Recovery Ministry
The Greater Recovery Ministry is an outreach program dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with the psychological, spiritual, and behavioral effects of addiction. Our goal, guided by the love of God, is to help individuals achieve complete deliverance from various types of addictions. We provide encouragement and support throughout the recovery process, believing that Jesus has the power to free you from addictions such as alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, the internet, nicotine, co-dependency, shopping, and more.
The curriculum for the Greater Recovery Ministry is based on the vision of our Senior Pastor, Bishop LaVelton J. Daniel, who seeks for "All Souls" to experience freedom from the "World of Negative Addiction." The program consists of 12 Godly principles that will be discussed weekly in a support group setting, facilitated by trained leaders.
For our youth participants, the curriculum focuses on drug prevention and education. We can schedule a convenient meeting if you or someone you know needs support. Please direct all inquiries to In-House Pastor Evangelist Melvina Pounds at melvinalbs@gmail.com.
August 2025
Summer Quarter Theme: Christlike Living Unit 3: Biblical Doing
August 3, 2025: Lesson 10: Pray for Peace: 1 Timothy 2:1-8: Teacher: Evangelist Erma Kidd: This week’s lesson explores Paul’s exhortation to Timothy regarding prayer. Golden Text: 1 Timothy 2 8 “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” Paul sent Timothy to Ephesus to restore prayer-centered worship, without anger or disputing. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” As Christians, we are called to pray for all people, not just for our families and friends; we should be praying for those in authority and not just the ones we agree with, but all of them, that we might be able to live peaceable lives. Review this week’s lesson at the link GREATER NEWS #120 KIDD
August 10, 2025; Lesson 11: Live in Light of the Gospel: Colossians 4:1-6: Teacher: Evangelist Linda DuBoise: This week’s lesson deals with how employer (master) and employee (slave) are to treat each other. Employers (masters) are to treat their employees (salves) with kindness, knowing they have a heavenly Master – God to whom they will give an account. Colossians 4:1 says, “Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in eaven.” Colossians teaches us what kind of relationship we should have with each other – employers, employees, unbelievers, and fellow Christians. We have been commissioned by God to go out and teach and lead others to Him. Each of us has a different personality, different relationships, and different opportunities. Yet as Christians, we each have a unique opportunity to impact the world for Christ. Golden Text: olossians 4 5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” Review this week’s lesson at the link GREATER NEWS #121 DUBOISE
August 17, 2025: Lesson 12: Trust the Lord: Proverbs 3:1-12: Teacher: Evangelist Mytrice Nesbitt: This week’s lesson, we learn how important it is to have and use the wisdom that comes from God to guide us. It is significant and necessary to have the wisdom of God in our lives. To understand that right living comes from following the wisdom of God, and when we learn to trust God for His wisdom to guide us, He will show us how to live in His righteousness. Every day we make choices, and when we make the wrong choice, we can fall into sin and disappoint God. When we make the right choices, we please God and honor Him. Trusting God’s wisdom in all our choices and actions is essential. Golden Text: Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
August 24, 2025: Lesson 13: Be Vigilant: 1 Peter 2:11-2; 3:13-17; 4:7-11; 5:8-10: Teacher: Minister Renata Jackson: This week’s lesson teaches us that we must “Be igilant” in our daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. The definition of Vigilant is “keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties.” 1 Peter chapter 2 gives us examples of how to carry ourselves before each other and unbelievers, chapter 3 gives examples of defending the Faith and how we should respond when we are falsely accused, chapter 4 gives examples of Christian service, and chapter 5 gives examples of resisting evil. Our lesson teaches us how important it is to have a good Christian testimony and to live a genuinely Christian life so that we can lead others to Jesus Christ. Christians must set an example of Holiness, teach that Christians will profoundly impact others, and encourage believers to seek to live as Christ lived so that others will turn to Him. Golden Text 1 Peter 2 12 “ aving your conversation honest among the Gentiles that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”
August 31, 2025: Lesson 14: Be Ready: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11: Teacher: Elder Paul McGhee: This week’s lesson aim is to know what the Bible says about the coming Day of the Lord and how to live in anticipation of that day “The ay of the Lord is Imminent.” (pmcghee) Principle: to be aware that we, as children of light, can look forward to the future with hope and faith. Application: to urge believers to be awake and to seek to awaken sinners before it is too late. Christians must stick to biblical prophecies and not be led astray by human detours into speculation or make matters worse by bringing in false religious teachings. Golden Text: 1 Thessalonians 5 6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” Jesus will return. Will you be Prepared and Ready?
