Summer Quarter Comments
Preparedness!
Preparing for God’s promised return should be a priority of the church. The evidence of Jesus’ promise of return can be seen worldwide according to the events mentioned in Mathew 24:3-14; Mark 13:3-13; Lk 21:7-17. In each of these gospels, Jesus warned the apostles to “take heed that no one deceives you” (v.4; v.5; v.8). The church must be prepared for Jesus’ return. A return that bears promises of seeing Jesus’ face to face and living together with Him in eternity.
According to Oxford, preparedness is “a condition of being completely ready for something, especially war.” The devil has declared war against God’s people starting in the Garden of Eden. A war that will continue until the return of Jesus Christ. But thank the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has equipped us with the Holy Ghost so that we can live Confidently and Obediently in this present world because “greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.”
From a Christian perspective, Preparedness is the continuous cycle of Faithful Living in accordance with Biblical Truths. Evaluating and taking corrective action to ensure effective Godly living in Jesus’name, Amen. “Come, Lord Jesus, Come.”
Blessings in Jesus’ Name, Minister Waveney Arthur, Adult Superintendent, Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple, Department of Christian Education
Praise the Lord Sunday Schoolers:
Welcome to the Year of Our Lord 2025, a time of redemption and the opportunity to receive grace upon grace. In 2025, expect God’s abundant blessings and be grateful for the greater opportunities in your relationship with Him as He provides all you need in a life filled with hope, health, and happiness.
Despite the tests and trials, we may face this year, remember to stay focused on what truly matters. God will guide you daily, and He has always provided for His children.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:16-17.
Greater Emanuel Sunday School invites you to join us every Sunday, either via Zoom or in person. Our in-person classes are held at Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple, located at 1150 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, in the EJB Hall. We look forward to seeing you!

Greater Recovery Ministry
The Greater Recovery Ministry is an outreach program dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with the psychological, spiritual, and behavioral effects of addiction. Our goal, guided by the love of God, is to help individuals achieve complete deliverance from various types of addictions. We provide encouragement and support throughout the recovery process, believing that Jesus has the power to free you from addictions such as alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, the internet, nicotine, co-dependency, shopping, and more.
The curriculum for the Greater Recovery Ministry is based on the vision of our Senior Pastor, Bishop LaVelton J. Daniel, who seeks for "All Souls" to experience freedom from the "World of Negative Addiction." The program consists of 12 Godly principles that will be discussed weekly in a support group setting, facilitated by trained leaders.
For our youth participants, the curriculum focuses on drug prevention and education. We can schedule a convenient meeting if you or someone you know needs support. Please direct all inquiries to In-House Pastor Evangelist Melvina Pounds at melvinalbs@gmail.com.
June 2025
Summer Quarter Theme: Christlike Living
Unit 1: Biblical Thinking: June 1, 2025: Lesson 1: Learn from Good Examples: Hebrews 11:1-2, 4-13: Teacher: Brother Guy Frazier: The summer quarter lessons are about “Christlike Living.” Unit One Biblical Thinking, lesson one: Learn from Good Examples, is a study of faith defined in Hebrews 11:1-2: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” The elders referred to the Old Testament ancestors, like Abel, who offered a more excellent sacrifice than Cain Enoch, who was translated, did not see death because he pleased God. Verse six, “ ithout faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Noah was warned by God, moved with fear, and prepared an ark to save himself and his family. The list goes on and on: Abraham and Sarah obeyed God, left their home, went into a foreign land, and trusted and believed that they would conceive seed, even though they were old and past the age of conception. True faith will always lead us to trust God and obey Him, and impact how we worship and live. Review of this eek’s lesson at the link GREATER NEWS #112 FRAZIER
June 8, 2025; Lesson 2: Learn from Bad Examples: 1 Corinthians 9:24-10:13: Teacher: Minister Renata Jackson: Lesson two: Learn from Bad Examples found in 1 Corinthians 9:24-10:13, we are encouraged to run the race in such a way as to receive the reward God has promised us. We want to bring ourselves under submission so that we will not be castaways. To pursue the prize, eternal life. There are many good and bad examples in the Old Testament that help Christians. We need to heed the warning of bad examples, just like we need to heed the good ones. Past divine blessing does not guarantee future spiritual success. Sin has serious consequences. We must have self-control to succeed in our Christian walk; we must take the warnings in the Bible seriously. Revie this eek’s lesson at the link GREATER NEWS #113 JACKSON
June 15, 2025: Lesson 3: Seek Godly Wisdom: Proverbs 4:10-15, 20-27: Teacher: Sister Sandra Wyatt: The book of Proverbs is about Wisdom and Understanding. It consists of a series of exhortations and warnings given to parents to teach their children how they should live. This book of wisdom encourages us to live in the fear of the Lord. Parents are to live Godly lives before their children and teach them to live Godly lives. Proverbs gives instructions on foolish living and wise living. Wisdom is the source of good health. One way to not stray into sin is to avoid evil paths Wise living does not come by accident; it must be intentionally pursued. Wisdom involves what we say and what we do. Growing in wisdom requires time and dedication. We must pass spiritual instruction from one generation to the next, from parent to child Deuteronomy 6:6-7 declares “And these ords, hich I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Review this week's lesson at the link: GREATER NEWS #114 WYATT
June 22, 2025: Lesson 4: Hold Fast to the Gospel: Galatians 2:15-3:5: Teacher: Evangelist Mytrice Nesbitt: This eek’s lesson, we study the importance of holding fast to the gospel by faith in Jesus Christ. We have been justified by faith and not by works or the law. Paul/Saul taught that a person “is not justified by the works of the law (Galatians 2:16). Obedience to the law does not bring salvation; no one can perfectly keep the Mosaic Law. The law teaches us that we are all sinners needing divine grace (Romans 3:20). Salvation comes only through faith in Christ Jesus; we cannot earn salvation, it is a free gift from God! Psalm 143:2 says, “ or in thy sight shall no man living be justified.” Once we have been saved by grace and faith, scripture lets us know that we have been crucified with Christ – Galatians 2 20 “I am crucified ith Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, ho loved me, and gave himself for me.” Review this week's lesson at the link: GREATER NEWS #115 NESBITT
Unit 2: Biblical Feeling: June 29, 2025: Lesson 5: Affection for Those in Christ: 1 John 4:7-21: Teacher: Sister Frances Lowery: This Week’s lesson teaches us to love one another. Sadly, the term “love” has been misused in our culture. In many cases, it might better be called “lust,” for it is used to describe all kinds of carnal passion. Many think of love only as romantic yearning. Some know nothing of the biblical concept of love from God. Our text today will help us to define what love truly is. God’s love for us is independent of our actions or orthiness. John 3 6 “ or God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God’s love for us impacts our relationships within the body of Christ and the community. God has commanded us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER; it is not a suggestion; IT IS A COMMAND. 1 John 4 7 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and kno eth God.” Review this week's lesson at the link: GREATER NEWS #116 LOWERY
