The 2024 Yearbook is dedicated to Mrs. Angela Goodwin. Mrs. Goodwin is an NCS Graduate and current teacher in the High School History Department The following dedication is written by her long time friend, previous teacher and coach, Ms. Lisa Jones:
"Angela Goodwin is incredibly deserving of this honor. I have always loved, respected and admired her. This goes back to when she was in 7th grade, despite the fact she had trouble opening my classroom door. Angela is and always has been a person who first and foremost seeks God s will for her life, even as a teenager. Her relationship with Jesus is her #1 priority, and I m so glad that relationship brought her back to Northside. She is a tremendous blessing to her students and the athletes she coaches. Ang can t do anything halfway. She gives everything she has to her family, to her students, and to her athletes. Her love for her kids and her willingness to share her faith with them makes a life-long impact on their lives. It has been an honor to be allowed to watch her grow and develop as an incredible educator and coach. I truly believe she is the most knowledgeable 4x100 relay coach in the state, in large part because of her experience and success in that event for 6 years on the varsity track team right here at NCS. Angela, you are a great example for all your students of how to live a Godly life. The credibility of your faith integrated into every aspect of your life is a testimony of a life well lived for your Savior to everyone who knows you. Thank you being an example of a real Christian for your students, and for truly loving them exactly where they are. I m so very glad you came back to teach at your alma mater! We are all blessed to have you as part of our Northside family." - Lisa Jones
In my 20 years of coaching; there was always one concept I thought to be paramount: If you build your team and coaching staff with genuinely good people; then you will have a long and happy career. Angela, I m positive that my coaching career would have been much shorter had you not joined our Track and Field staff. Thank you for everything you have done for the program and for me personally. Your contributions to the Mustang program have meant the world to me. From taking over some of the head coaching responsibilities; to developing our relay teams and being an amazing role model for our young Lady Mustangs. But most important to me, just being a good friend and someone to help me keep my sanity. Thank you Little G , You are truly loved and appreciated! - Coach G (Mr. Jeff Goodwin)
There's a reason why on "Cooking Days" students go to Ms. Goodwin's room first; they know they will be met with a smile and a comforting conversation lined with love and care from one of the most loving and caring people they know. (at least, that why I go) Love you Ms. Goodwin.
- Maxwell Graham
I had the chance to get to know what Mrs. Goodwin is like from student council, the hallways, and track. From a student perspective, she is one of the most committed teachers to her students and a caring second mother to those who need it. Her faith and love towards her students is apparent to anyone who meets her and her joy is always contagious. To say I am grateful for her being in my life is a gross understatement. If you don't already know Mrs. Goodwin, we LOVE YOU.

leave Northside, be remembered as who was level and you could about anything.
Before leaving this school, I would love to leave a legacy of respect, responsibility and resilience. I just came to the US 2 years ago and there are lots of differences in cultures and society norms between here and where I used to live. In the very first months in Northside, I still had some language barriers. I tried to learn, adapt and be more hardworking cause I usually have to spend more time comprehending the lessons than others. But I believe that resilience would help everyone in this world be better and achieve any goals in this life.
"Dear Janessa,
Your passion and love for life has always been evident in the ways you care so deeply for others and their well-being. Northside has offered you so many opportunities over the years to build relationships, and you have embraced those opportunities with open arms and an open heart! It has been fun to watch you grow in a variety of interests, whether it was your love for choir and performing in musicals, or your passion for the pool when you started competing on the swim team in 6th grade, or even most recently when you joined the lacrosse team in your senior year. Still, your love for those extracurriculars has always been enriched by the relationships you have built. Over time, we watched your passion develop into leadership and before we knew it, your passion for people evolved into a passion for justice. As your parents, it has been such a privilege for us to witness your pursuit to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves! We know that no matter which avenue you take to continue this fight, you will maintain a deep love for others and for that we are so proud as your heart for people reflects the heart of God. Congratulations for receiving this tremendous honor as Miss NCS. We love you! Love, Mom and Dad"
"Jameson,
You have been a leader since the day you were born; not by your own choice, but by Gods design. Oldest of 13 grandchildren you have had many nicknames, Pied Piper, Gentle Giant, Buddy, and JJ; yet those don t even begin to cover the many facets of your personality. You quietly and consistently choose to do the hard work and treat others with dignity and respect. You have never sought the limelight but God placed amazing people in your life who have drawn those talents out for his glory. We are forever grateful for the NCS community for embracing our family; creating this nurturing, loving, challenging environment where our kids can flourish and be known. You have made the most of your time at NCS by simply being yourself; authentically and humbly responding to Christ s call on your life and encouraging others to do the same. We couldn t be prouder of you receiving the honor of Mr. NCHS, and look forward to seeing the next group of faithful leaders step up and answer the call. Love, Dad, Mom, Justice, and Ayven Jensen."

Whether it's Saturday meets at Northshore or Coach Kay s mac n cheese at District Dinner, will always cherish the friendships made and the memories that will last. I have swam on the Varsity Swim team since 6th grade, and have led the team s cheer with the spirit spear at the beginning of every meet for the past two seasons. My favorite memory on the team is swimming the 500 with a broken toe my sophomore year at the St. Pete City meet.

The 2023-2024 swim season was a huge success. Despite the odds, the Swim Team had a Great season. The Girls Team won several dual meets and swam great at Districts, qualifying 5 swimmers through to Regions. Congratulations to Alex Clark, Micaela Oliver, Kristin Withey, Serena Leisure, and Alegria Cowley, qualifying in both individual and relay events. The following message comes from Mrs. Heather Cusmano, our director of the NCS theatre productions and choir and chorale instructor:
"I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Karen Schmidt and Leo Nash for their unwavering dedication and remarkable craftsmanship in building sets for our theatre program for over 16 years. Their meticulous attention to detail has brought to life a variety of breathtaking scenes, from majestic castles to ancient pyramids, pirate ships to cozy houses, and even bustling NYC office buildings. Their passion and expertise have enriched our productions beyond measure, leaving audiences in awe time and time again. Karen and Leo, your tireless efforts have truly been instrumental in the success of our performances, and I am so very thankful for your incredible creativity, contributions, and friendship."
I am so thankful for them because no matter what we needed during the shows, they would stay as late as it took to get it done. They put their lives on the line to make our shows great. They would always look out for us and care for us, and were never angry. It shows how much love and compassion they have for our school and I am so grateful.

Community groups started in Fall 2023 in an effort to increase a sense of community and togetherness among our middle and high school students.
What are community groups? They are a weekly small group time during the school day where 10-12 students in the same grade meet and do life together. Many of our teachers go above and beyond to create an atmosphere where some students say their community group time is the highlight of their week.
