Mental Health

The last skating party of the school year! 208 students and families attended Semoran Skateway to donate to mental health. Earlier that morning, students around campus dressed down for Mental Health Day, helping NAMI Greater Orlando, an organization of families, friends, and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness. The donations helped us raise money that will help families around Central Florida get the help they need.

4-H Public Speaking

Pressley M., from 4-Yellow, took the spotlight and shined brightly in April. After securing first place at the school level a few weeks ago, Pressley continued to impress at the district level, clinching the top spot once again in the private school division! Her moving speech centered around how dance serves as her voice, despite her limited ability to speak. Pressley s inspiring story and heartfelt message resonated with the audience and judges, earning her well-deserved recognition!

Hungry to Help

Hungry to Help has done it again, assisting families in having food to eat for the month of April. Thank you to our helpers: Vada Hussey, Annabelle Moore, Leighton Mayo, Suri Patel, Shane Landau, and Mateo Kalina for making a difference!

G3: Marine

Science

As students wrapped up their marine studies in science class with Ms. Dawson, third-grade scholars embarked on an exciting field trip to the Marine Science Center nestled in the coastal charm of Ponce Inlet. Students were greeted by the salty breeze and the sound of crashing waves as they dove into activities right on the beach! At the Marine Center, students explored the marine wonders from touching stingrays in a tide pool to observing majestic sea turtles in the turtle hospital. Every moment was filled with awe and discovery, igniting a passion for ocean conservation in the young hearts of our Park Maitland students. As students boarded the buses, they carried not only the memories from a wonderful trip but also a deeper appreciation for the ocean s beauty and importance!

Festival of Nations

First graders transformed themselves into tourist travelers as they ventured off to Morocco, Australia, Brazil, Pakistan, Japan, and France. They had an amazing time celebrating the Festival of Nations, leaving our students with an unforgettable experience. This international adventure is celebrated to broaden students cultural horizons, where they engaged in various activities throughout transformed rooms for the day. "One of my favorite rooms was Morocco; I got to hold a sword on my head," said Emma Hill. As lunchtime approached, all classes gathered in the circle areas on campus to sing "We Are the World," directed by Music teacher Ms. Hicks. The day ended with our volunteers bringing in food from each of the different countries for students to taste, allowing them to reflect on these wonderful countries and what they learned. Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers and vendors!
