ANNADATAS CALL FOR BHARAT BANDH TODAY Don’t force bandh, let it be peaceful: Farmer leaders New Delhi: Ahead of Tuesday’s Bharat Bandh, the protesting farmers at Delhi’s Singhu border have appealed for peace, and clarified that no shops and establishments will be forcibly closed on account of the Bandh. “There will be complete ‘Bharat bandh’ till 3 pm Tuesday, but emergency services will be allowed,” farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal told reporters. Rajewal reiterated the farmers’ stand, saying they will not accept anything less than the withdrawal of the three new farm laws by the Centre. Besides, the Centre has asked all states and Union Territories to tighten security and ensure that peace and tranquillity is maintained during ‘Bharat Bandh’. AIR INDIA ALLOWS FOR A FREE DATE CHANGE Passengers who are unable to reach the airport in time for their flights on Tuesday due to the nationwide strike or Bharat Bandh called by farmers protesting against the farm laws will not have to pay no-show charges and will be eligible for a free date change on confirmed tickets for flights from all Indian airports, Air India said on Monday. “For passengers who are unable to reach the Airport due to possible disturbance on 8th Dec, no-show charges will be waived and one free date change allowed for those with confirmed tickets for travel on 8th Dec, 2020 from any Indian Airport,” a statement issued by Air India read.

ELABORATE SECURITY POLITICAL PARTIES IN PLACE: DELHI COPS BACKING BANDH New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday said elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called on December 8 and warned that strict action will be taken against those trying to disrupt movement of people or “forcefully” shut shops. Eish Singhal, Delhi Police (PRO), said adequate arrangements have been made by the Delhi Police to ensure normal movement of people on roads during ‘Bharat Bandh’.
