CBDT to banks: Refund charges on e-transactions New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Finance has advised all the banks not to collect any charges on transactions or payments made through electronic mode, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement on Sunday. According to the CBDT, some representations were made that some banks are imposing and collecting charges on transactions carried out through UPI. A certain number of transactions were allowed free by these banks beyond which every transaction bears a charge, the CBDT noted. “This is in violation of the Circular no 32/2019 dated December 30, 20219, which was issued by CBDT to clarify that based on section 10A of (Payment and Settlement System (PSS) Act, any charge including MDR (Merchant Turn to P6

Jaipur/Alwar: AICC general secretary in charge for Rajathan Ajay Maken on Sunday accused the BJP of killing democracy by misusing investigative agencies and through its money power. He said that the BJP murdered democracy in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Manipur but faced defeat in Rajasthan. “The braves of Rajasthan…at least 102 MLAs have proved that no matter how much money is offered or pressure is mounted, we
will not bend down. We will protect democracy in the way Congress fought with British and got freedom,” he said. Maken was addressing party workers in Shahjahapur in Alwar district who welcomed him on his first visit to the state after being appointed as Rajasthan in charge. “The fight we have won was just a part and in the coming time more such attacks will be made on democracy. We have to be prepared for them and by any chance should not let democracy get defeated in Rajasthan,” the Congress leader said.
The party leader was welcomed at several places in the state on the way to Jaipur from Delhi. He was welcomed at Shahjahapur, Behror, Kotputali, Virat Nagar, Shahpura and Chandwaji. Interestingly, Gehlot, CP Joshi, Ajay Maken, Sachin Pilot and Vivek Bansal shared one table. Maken is also a member of the committee formed by Congress high command to look into the issues raised by former PCC president Sachin Pilot and other MLAs.
